[PC/RCT3] Valley Hills
thrillseeker4552 replied to JonnyRCT3's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Um....there's nothing in that post indicating that Towering Inferno is leaving anytime soon. Okay, good, so I wasn't the only one who went back and read the update to see if it said anything about Towering Inferno being removed! I had a little heart attack for a second. -

A B&M Invert seems way more likely to me than a B&M Giga. -
I'm confused, are people more upset about the actual ride, or is it just a capacity issue?? SUF seems like a pretty awesome ride, and I've heard nothing but positive things about it. For me, it just seems...out of place. I've never been to BGW, so my opinion probably doesn't matter, but putting a cloned ride with mediocre capacity in a small, crammed area in the world's most beautiful theme park with world-class attractions (those B&M coasters... )...it just doesn't feel right. I'll guess we'll see sooner or later.

Thanks for sharing those pics! Looks like a truly unique coaster. And being created in-house, it's quite impressive! I look forward to the announcement. -

I think it's because some of the outer seats can be a little more rough and shaky (relative term for a B&M) as opposed to the 4 across. I think the main reason Leviathan and Fury 325 have 4-across seating is to set them apart from the Hyper coasters at the same park (Behemoth and Intimidator). If the Gigas had the V-trains, the rides would be way to similar to their Hyper counterpart! Even the GP would notice! -
^I see your point(s). Knott's really does have to get creative when adding big rides like SB. As for 2015 speculation, if we expect to see a WMG-style dark ride in the KotD building, where would the station/lift hill area be (assuming this is a roller coaster)? There really isn't that much room in that area of the park.

Worlds of Fun put in Patriot in 2006. Oh, I totally missed that. In that case, only 2007 and 2011. -

That would be so cool. It could also have 2-3 MCBRs, allowing 5-6 full-sized trains to run without any major stacking. Not to mention, it could very likely break the length record. I could only imagine the cost of a ride like that though, especially if it was by B&M. -
^French-speaking donut! Donuts are awesome! Would you rather eat poop-flavored chocolate or chocolate-flavored poop?

Cedar Fair has built a brand new B&M coaster every year since 2004, except for 2006, 2007, and 2011. 2004: Silver Bullet 2005: Hydra: the Revenge 2006: None 2007: None 2008: Behemoth 2009: Diamondback 2010: Intimidator 2011: None 2012: Leviathan 2013: GateKeeper 2014: Banshee 2015: Fury 325 -

I actually enjoyed Firehawk quite a bit. I thought Flight of Fear and Vortex were much worse. But to each his own. -
^I have mixed feelings about a giga (or any type of hyper coaster really). If they could find a good place for it, make it feel like it belongs in that area, add some subtle theming (like Banshee) and such, it could very well be a great addition. But if they just plop it on top of concrete like they did with Silver Bullet, I'm totally against it. And after seeing the wonderful things Matt is doing for Knott's, I have total confidence that the new additions in the years to come will be reasonable and "non-Six Flags-y", whether roller coaster, flat ride, dark ride, etc.

A 500-foot roller coaster (lift hill) that is over 10,000 feet in length with multiple airtime hills, over banked curves, low to the ground turns, and helices. Basically a longer, taller, and faster Fury 325. -

So Fury 325 just didn't do it for you, huh? You're right. A 325-foot, 95mph coaster that is 6,602 feet in length looks very "meh" and uninteresting. Okay. Here's my rant. I understand that the majority of the comments on here are positive about Fury 325, but this rant is for those who consider this to be "boring", "meh", and any other negative, judgmental word you can think of (I say judgmental because none of us have ridden it yet...of course). I don't know about other people, but lately, I have been getting pretty bothered about everyone trashing every single new B&M coaster in that last few years. Why do enthusiasts constantly think that every new coaster to be built in the world at any theme park in the future has to be OMG KICK YOUR A$$ AMAZING??? We ride roller coasters for enjoyment and fun, not to train to become an astronaut. In my opinion, Fury 325 looks like the best B&M ever built. What is there not to like? It has an ENORMOUS drop at 81 degrees (literally free falling 300 feet to the ground), it goes 95mph, it is a LONG ride, and it looks like it has some decent airtime. Oh yeah, airtime. Does this coaster look like it will have OMG EJECTOR airtime? No. Does it have to? NO. I happen to LOVE floater airtime a lot. And especially with the open, comfiness of B&M Hypers, it is such a great feeling! It frustrates me when people say "no airtime" when they really mean "-0.02 Gs". If you can manage to ride a roller coaster that crests and hill and drops back down without lifting up our of your seat at all, let me know, because congratulations, you are able to defy the laws of physics, and I will totally respect you for that. So strap yourself in, throw your hands up, and enjoy the ride! If enthusiasts are going to be disappointed and uninterested with a 325-foot monster, then I personally don't see the point in being an enthusiast anymore. I don't know about you, but I would rather have 325-foot behemoths (no pun intended) be built than Mega-Lite clones at every park. Diversity and originality is what makes being an enthusiast so much fun! Okay, rant over. Had to let off a little steam. -

You sorta wonder if that is by design. I mean, track is on site. It's kind of obvious anyway, and we've been talking about it non stop for how many pages? And it will go on tomorrow, and then Thursday, etc, etc... Yeah, perhaps their goal is to get people to talk about the ride rather than have a big, surprising announcement. I guess it's just more fun for us enthusiasts when we have no clue what to expect, as opposed to already knowing the layout, type of ride, manufacturer, color scheme, etc. It kind of makes it anticlimactic. Regardless, this coaster has still received a TON of hype, and even if I live 2000 miles away, I'm still excited to hear the official word from Carowinds. -

To answer your question seriously, my guess would be the S&S plant in Utah. I hear they still do a lot of work on the old Arrows. Can't imagine anywhere else it would come from...plus it's not all that far away.
