The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
Homer replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First the wand, now hopefully the hat too! I hope this happens and the whole bickering about Mann's Chinese Theater is over with. Because a giant gift shop hat feels out of place in a "movie studio." -
Not sure whether or not I really want to post my own thread on my battle or just post this here, but an update. Some hair is starting to grow back and when good things happen, I'm back in the sh*t again. About next week or so I'm back into Chemo for 8 more sessions, kind of frustrates me knowing that I have to take a full fall courseload for insurance reasons and miss the first few weeks of class because its on the tail end of chemotherapy. About school though, I'm glad this summer semester I'm taking Intro to Business down online. Now if only 20 more credit hours and deciding a major were a piece of cake in this situation. As for post surgery things, still on the walker, but by the end of the week I should hopefully have enough balance for the cane. And physical rehab at a gym should be fun. But time for the super good news... The first six rounds of chemotherapy or so had a 99% kill rate on the tumors. While its badass most of the cancer is out of me so to say, I'm still kind of frustrated I have another 4 months or so of chemotherapy left. I'm also kind of frustrated that I can't really do parks this year, attend some good friends' birthdays in hopes of getting a girl, etc. I know by the end of this whole roadblock I'll probably be stronger, maybe things will look up once I get my old job back and back on the schedule of school, work, and random club stuff at school. The other things in life that kind of frustrate me in life aside from not being able to really go out and ride this year and missing social things, is maybe just being lonely sometimes. Kinda peeved I haven't had much of a birthday celebration or any visitors at home or in the hospital. But, at least I know my 21st will be definitely action packed. So, that's the update. Kind of LiveJournal-ish, but whatever.

Magnum’s new sign at Cedar Point!
Homer replied to Coasterfanatic245's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I approve of this sign, I always had a difficult time finding where the entrance was. Hopefully this won't cause anymore confused guests. Because I remember my first CP visit back in 2003, I probably spent 5 minutes looking for the entrance. As for the ride itself, the ride's fun and a little rough, but fun. Some people "get it", some people don't. -

Picked up a 20 oz bottle of Mountain Dew Throwback and I'm loving it. The taste is a little sweeter and sticks around longer. I enjoy it, why does this have to be limited time only?

SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread
Homer replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
WHY does everything awesome happen when I'm recovering from hip surgery? If I had one wish, I need to get to Sea World ASAP. Ive been putting it off for... 10 years. I'm glad to hear the ride is awesome and that it doesn't have a hydraulic floors. It makes everything that much faster. -
I'm modestly satisfied with the Rays this year. Not the hottest start, but I'm disappointed that we lost our home opening series. Went to last nights game, and I admit the AL championship ring replica is probably the awesomest baseball freebie ever. It doesn't feel like a cheap ring and they're already selling on eBay for prices up to $140.

Mr. Pibb/Pibb Xtra or whatever, I like it and it's like 99% the flavor or Dr. Pepper. Don't care what the difference is and either you love it or hate it. As for terrible sodas... I nominate Pepsi Twist/NFL Kickoff, lemon and regular soda don't mix.

Hard Rock / Freestyle Music Park Discussion Thread

Man, I thought of a better name in like 5 seconds and I don't think it's trademarked or anything. Rock & Roll Paradise Yep, creativity is practically dead these days. -

A bunch of DVD's at Blockbuster, $20. Be Kind, Rewind Drillbit Taylor Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull You Don't Mess with the Zohan
-
Dollar menus are my way of life. McDoubles, Double Stacks... whatever. I will say one thing, sometimes local supermarkets have delicious subs as well. Publix is pretty good; but Sweetbay (only in Florida) takes the cake. For $5.50, they really pile on the meat and toppings.
-
So, thanks to Blockbuster used DVD sales and lots of spare time, here are some movie reviews... Drillbit Taylor Not as funny as I'd hoped it would be. Owen Wilson was alright and that's about it. 4/10. You Don't Mess with the Zohan One of the better Sandler flicks I've seen lately. 7/10 Hot Rod One of the randomest movies I've ever seen. You really have to have an absurd sense of humor to "get this." It was still pretty forgettable though, I expected slightly more "Jackass" from this movie. 6/10

TPR PENS! (Yes, pens!)
Homer replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The TPR pen is always handy as well as the Son of Beast Survival Kit. Question though, do the pens come from penisland.net? -
Old National Geographic Explorer Segment (1990)
Homer replied to nannerdw's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The closest Arrow came into doing a Pipeline installation was 2 failed attempts with Alton Towers back in the early 90's (SW1 and SW2). Many technical errors, comfort issues, and local protest (then again, Alton has ran into this a lot) halted the projects. That, and the park was more impressed with the inverted coaster rather than the pipeline coaster, thus Nemesis was built. As for the videos, really interesting finds and footage, thanks for posting.
