  1. For wood it would be The Pheonix at Knoebels and for steel it would be Gemini at Cedar Point (despite being a Arrow that is 35 years old it is one of the smoothest coasters I've ridden).
  2. It was a born thing for me, I've interested in coasters my whole life, however when I really became a enthusiast was when I found this site and learned more about other parks (international parks) and other manufacturers besides the basic ones (Intamin, B&M, TGG, GCI, PTC, ect)
  3. The inverted drop on this looks REALLY sweet, if I make it back to the UK anytime soon I will make sure to go to Alton Towers to ride The Smiler. Also hasn't The Smiler tied with the most inversions record with Jouney to the Stars (Chinese Knockoff of Colossus with a extra loop) now with the 3 added inversions (the Barrel Roll and the two inverted drops)
  4. ^ That is Ninjas third train which has been under there for quite some time. Shockwaves trains went to SFMM to be used on Viper and SFGADV to be used on GASM, GASM trains went to SFMM to be used up on Viper.
  5. ^ Yes this is what I mean, I think my post came out in the wrong way, sorry.
  6. La Ronde is the most ghetto park I've been to, some parts of it are nice with great views of the river and Montreal but other areas like the area by La Cobra are not kept up to well.
  7. Looks like a fun ride (all Morgan Hypers are) however this isn't like the Intamin Mega Lite, it is more like the Mack Mega Lite without the ending twist.
  8. It will depend on the parks, if you go to parks like Holiday World and Fuji Q Highland where they don't even allow things in cargo pokets then I won't be seeing this used there. How ever parks that allow glasses with a strap I can see this being used as its not a loose article that will fly off and hit someone in the face (it could happen but the chances are slim).
  9. Just wondering, but since they are using the old trains and Arrow parts are becoming more and more rare, does this mean Ninja will be on its way out soon so the trains can become part doners for Boomerang......
  10. Nice to see Lotte World opening another park, I found Lotte World to be very nice and cool (the indoor park is so cool! And let's not forget the Aquatrax) the only thing I had to grip about was their line policy to avoid graffiti but I can understand that as Koreans just love to do graffiti. Judging by the art it looks like this park will have a TON of great slides!
  11. ^^ I have nothing against the Chinese people but some of the English names they pick for some coasters are odd (Angry Birds for a S&S El Loco? I can understand a kiddie or family coaster themed to Angry Birds but not a coaster with a 120* drop and 2 inversions). Likewise I think Dinoconda at China Dinosaurs Park is a pretty great name along with Extreme Rusher at Happy Valley Beijing.
  12. For me (in no particular order: 1. Leave ALL useless crap at home (anything that isn't your wallet, keys, glasses/sunglasses (with a strap), phone, ect) 2. Do the back of the park first, people are like sheep and will go to the first ride they see. 3. Don't be stupid, if there weren't so many people who leave their brains at home the number accidents that happen at a park would be reduce to even lower levels than they are now. 3. Don't kiss, hug, be rude, or smoke in line for rides 4. DON'T EVER GO TO A PARK ON SATURDAY UNLESS ITS OFF PEAK SEASON! 5. Don't spit in the park 6. Throw away ALL garbage in trash bins 7. DON'T stand in front of ride entrances or main walkways while waiting for your group to decide what to do 8. If you are larger than the average person make sure to try the test seat at rides before getting in line 9. If you have a existing condition that you know that can cause harm to you on certain rides make sure to read the sign out front and if it says not to ride, DO NOT RIDE! 10. Buy all merchandise right before leaving the park.
  13. ^ By slow it down I think they mean that they will make it go slower till all cars are past the curve up as this is where alot of axle fractures are happening (NOT good!), after that part it will speed up to the normal speed. For fastest steel lift (not launch) I would say Skyrush and for Wood it would be any of the Intamin Prefabs with a cable lift (El Toro and T Express). For the slowest it's any of theses knockoff Japanese/Chinese rides.
  14. The Chinese have yet again come up with a GREAT theme for a El Loco...... Link: http://rcdb.com/10745.htm
  15. ^ The first I can understand the first as it does sound like screams coming from speakers or riders but the second, yeah.....
  16. Beautiful shots, the sunset complements the wood structure nicely.
  17. No one has mentioned Thunderbolt at Kennywood, it was once the Pippin and in 1968 they expanded and retracked it to become the Thunderbolt.
  18. Yes Flying Dutchmans are pretty bad, I think we all hate looking straight into the sun! Also I don't like Nitro's lift too much either as to one side you see the nice lake/river and to another you see SFGADVs bone yard and the abandoned Old Country.
  19. ^^ More importantly its what Thrill Seekers love! Even though its a Boomerang, it does have a unique location in the park as I don't know of any other Boomerang that goes above a small clift.
  20. Batman: The Ride clones are sort of bashed due to them being cloned, I think they have great forces and a great layout for a B&M Invert. I also think Vekoma GIBs are underrated as well as the Flying Dutchmans (X-Flight at Geuaga Lake was a great Flyer [iDK how it runs as Firehawk at Kings Island])
  21. ^Because Anton Schwarzkopf actually made sure his rides weren't crap (no OTSRs so no head banging, makes for a WAY better ride). The reason the loops feel off sometimes is because he used a almost circular loop which has more forces the Arrow/Vekoma loops had. Great to see them retracking, but I don't know if it will make a TON of a difference (new trains will do that ). Also I can't recall if this was true or not, but didn't Vekoma reuse track from another project that was cancelled for Goudurix's Butterfly Loop, could explain why that part is so crappy and looks REALLY odd. Also if this doesn't work, I would like to see Parc Astérix put a Mack or Intamin Mega Coaster there.
  22. The models are just simply amazing, every detail is on them down to the last bolt. I hope they are recolorable like RCT3s rides are but with more freedom (color wheel?).
  23. Interesting, I didn't think Le Monstre was that bad of ride. Glad to see them getting rid of the Morgans, as those suck. Also do we know if it is the standard PTC 2 seat or their new trains that tracks like Millennium Flyers?
  24. Sadly I don't think this can be done as B&M designed the Stand Up coaster so it could Heart Line only while standing, if you replace it with a Sitdown the forces would be messed up and you'd end up with a B&M Sitdown running like a Arrow Corkscrew.
