  1. It should be no surprise that the first comment on the FB post is someone being negative.
  2. The inversions are coming down. Phantom's Revenge treatment confirmed.
  3. I honestly think it has become Six Flags' standard practice to open new attractions so late in the season that there's really no reason for them to create any sense of urgency, anymore. "It will get done when it gets done." As far as West Coast Racers goes, no one should be surprised that any project in California is poorly managed... Meanwhile, Orion will probably start making test runs within a couple weeks.
  4. I'd be more inclined to believe it will ride more similar to Leviathan than Fury.
  5. I agree with you on your analysis of Six Flags. Xcalibur at SFSTL has been closed for two years. It may, or may not, open this spring. You forgot to mention park Six Flags parks state of cleanliness and aesthetic maintenance. Also, the clientele which seems to consist of a higher volume of obnoxious kids, like the girl I literally saw piss herself in the line for The Boss and then hop in. Luckily, HITP is a temporary reprieve from that scene. It was one of my two visits this past season, with our cumulative time in the park being about 6 hours between both visits.
  6. Holy shit! You guys are only 5 hours away. I can't believe you haven't been to the park in the last 25 years. There are people who are a lot more experienced with this park than I am. If I were to go right now, I'd make sure to get to the park early and hit Maxx Force immediately. The other main rides I would prioritize after that are Goliath and Vertiical Velocity. They're close to each other. If you're interested in going to Justice League, you'll have to ride that early, too. X-Flight and Raging Bull lines should always move pretty quickly. Superman is always packed when we go. Demon's line is always reasonable for us, but we never ride it. This park has two of my favorite first drops between Goliath and Raging Bull. You'll have to sit in the very back on Raging Bull and experience the pre-drop ejector airtime dive into the tunnel. The back few cars on Goliath are always good. Don't forget to go to Malnati's, since you're in the area...
  7. It looks like a beautiful ride but ffck all that. If Superman/Manta make me feel nauseous, I'd be miserable for hours.
  8. 2 1/2 days at Carowinds seems about 1 1/2 days too many, even if walking with a cane. Your rides will be nearly, and sometimes literally, walk-on with Fastlane Plus. Hilton Head, SC is a pretty short drive from Carowinds. I'd choose (I did) to spend the extra 1 1/2 days there. As far as Manhattan goes; we walked more in our two days in NYC than we did our whole ten day trip last summer. If you're concerned about mobility issues you should probably have your uber/lift app on lock. But, it's going to take a while to travel that way considering NYC traffic. We made it a personal point to book out cabin far away from Pigeon Forge when we were in that area. It didn't seem like anything other than a massive ugly tourist trap to us. We went to downtown Gaitlinburg a couple times for dinner. It's 'less' of a tourist trap. We didn't enjoy Dollywood much, since we couldn't relax with a couple beers in the evenings. As a result, when we went back to close the park out for the last few hours we pregamed with too much moonshine. I still remember the quote from a super nice cheerful middle aged woman checking our Wild Eagle restraints. "Ya'll been havin fun. I can smell it." Fun indeed.
  9. Maybe it's coincidence, but I always saw a lot of nearly empty cycles on top spins. Voodoo must be the new Hanibarrels, which probably set a world record for SBNO at SFStl. Likely, it's only a matter of time before Voodoo becomes an all-new attraction at La Ronde.
  10. ?... What did you find confusing about my statement? I should have clarified by making an eye rolling emoji toward the Intamin sentiment. Sorry for the confusion.
  11. Be careful using words such as "the" and "diamondback" in succession. I've seen it trigger people.
  12. ?... I think I see what you did there! Thanks for the update.
  13. Because they're the most insane and possibly most intense elements. Even for me, they're one of those "holy ffck" moments that I still can't decide if I love or hate. Put two of them on a flyer and it will be easier to choose the latter. Simply put, I think they're too intense for more than one. Seems like they've been comfortable with negative-G airtime for a long time. But, their preference leans a lot more toward comfortable floater air vs. Skyrush/El Toro ejector air. It's the responsible thing to do. Glad you enjoyed your trip.
  14. Stuff yourself in a clothes dryer for five minutes if you want the experience of riding a top spin. Make sure to check your pockets first.
  15. Damn. Cedar Fair is all about pulling weeds, lately.
  16. Awkward overshare... It's the midwest. That's a high dollar outing 'for us folks.' I can buy a tanker truck full of Natty Light for a dollar more and it will last me the whole weekend.
  17. I'm game for the dueling antique cars...
  18. Maybe I went through this too quick, but I didn't see Beer Man.
  19. This is how I feel after our KI Haunt trips, but that has to do with Yuengling more than anything. Great photos! We want more!
  20. Do they have any diabetic friendly rides?
  21. I'd consider the bamboo gone. If it stays, it will be a pleasant surprise. It's one of the lesser liability stranglehold issues in 2020.
  22. ^^Liar. I echo this for my own personal preferences. We wouldn't go to Cedar Point as often as we do if it weren't for the Resort/Hotel aspect. Staying on the peninsula for a couple days makes it seem a little more like a vacation than a typical park visit. We even take a slow silent lap around the park after closing and no one has ever said anything. After that, we either have ice cream or a night cap by the fire pits on the beach to close out our tiresom day. The next morning, we wake up early, have a quick workout, grab a simple breakfast at Perkins, and enjoy a walk along the beach with our Stabucks Coffee. We love our perfect unspoken formula. All of that is what makes Cedar Point different and special for us. The two things we don't live without at CP are Fast Lane Plus passes and Breakers. For us, it's 110% worth it for the 8 hour drive. At the very least, I really recommend cutting out some vanities in your life and setting the extra saved money aside for Fast Lane Plus on one day. But, if you're looking to do the trip on a tight budget outside of my suggestions, this thread has a plethera of expert advice. Good people. Good advice. This place is an excellent resource.
  23. Wow. Construction is really moving along. It seems like it took forever to construct the first two hills, which is understandable, but now the crew is flying.
  24. All hills should provide an equal amount of airtime and the larger hills should lessen their airtime to contribute to the smaller hills. Bernie: The Ride.
