Good trip report.
The ninja/batman area of the park is very neglected. It used to be a thriving area of the park, especially before Freeze opened. It just looks too plain, now. If I had to guess, that will change within the next 5-10 years. I would imagine our next steel investment (not counting boomerang) will take Ninja's place and the area of that park will get revived.
IMO the Batman Queue needs to be changed. Although the queue does a great job of making sure you have little to no wait when you get to the station, it's a bit too long. The walk through the gardens is painfully boring. I don't even think they have the speakers turned on anymore with the batman music and the kids yelling/birds chirping. Maybe I just don't notice it anymore? If you haven't noticed, our park is notorious for a couple overly long Queues - Batman, Freeze, Boss.
What did you think of the mine train? A lot of people cling on to it for the nostalgia, but I think it's boring. The 3 lift hills are retarded.
It's a shame freeze was down. It makes a nice roar that you can hear throughout most of the park. I personally LOVED the ride when it launched facing the correct way, AKA FORWARD... It was a top 10er for me, which is pretty decent out of my 123 coasters. I could ride it over and over again and never get tired of it. However, when they made it launch backwards, it took something away from the ride for me. I loved the launch and being pushed back in my seat. It was also cool to fall 200 feet backwards. They tried to make a quick buck by turning the ride around and marketing it as new and I will forever be pissed off about that until it's turned back around. I hope they don't ruin all launched rides by turning them backwards after they get a little old... I feel like it does NOTHING for the ride, especially when it wasn't designed with that kind of experience in mind. When I heard they experimented with running the Batman backwards, I almost went postal.
American Thunder is good, but I think Prowler has one up on it.
