I saw it running one time. I grabbed a ride just to say I did. The ride broke down immediately after our one train completed the course. It was a 'rare credit' for me and it's my home park... The path interaction is cool, until you realize that it blocks the view of Screamin' Eagle's beautiful structure. -

I've said many times before that Banshee delivers speed sensations and has smooth gradual transitions more akin to a B&M hyper than a typical invert. If you go into it expecting the same flavor as Montu or Batman you'll be disappointed. Banshee is kind of unique to the invert family. To say that it's forceless isn't very objective. It just doesn't deliver forces in the same manner as snappier inverts. Banshee is hauling ass at the bottom of every swooping hill and element. I personally love it and I have zero concern for my ears when I ride it. -

Ninja started as a bankrupt Arrow completed by Vekoma in Vekoma's worst years. Since Ninja is at SFSTL it will be one of the most modern steel coasters at the park forever. That makes it an indestructible pile of shit. When you ride it and your head smacks against the restraint for the 10th time you start having visions of La Ronde. -

Even if all of the people threatening to cancel their passes actually follow though, you'd have two less platinum pass holders for every one-hundred new gold passes purchased. -

I'm sure there were a ton of people there who loved Vortex. You might be one of seven people to show up if Ninja at SFSTL ever has its last riders. Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen in my lifetime unless it's hit by a blessed meteor. -

Go to youtube and hit the 'share' option. There will be a link to copy. Go to TRP and hit the youtu_be button (note the underscore). Paste the link there. At least that's how I do it on my laptop. Thanks for the laser show share, though. I copy and pasted your link into my browser and watched it... And by watched it I mean I scrolled through about 60 seconds. That was a pretty solid ten minutes of the same patterns of green lasers through fog, terrible projections stolen from 5th grade coloring books, and the slowest most boring back yard fireworks setup ever. And it totally kicked ass in 1993! And yeah... Ninja is here to stay. It does't seem to have the forces and intensity that Vortex did. I honestly don't even remember looking at it on my last trip. That whole area might as well not be there for me. -

Sometimes it's easy to feel kind of cheesy about the coaster things that give you 'feels,' but I guess you really don't need to suppress emotions for what's important to you. (unless you're me...) Just know that you may have been the only person crying about Vortex who wasn't doing it out of physical pain! Had to be Taps: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Thanks for the pictures. -

Sucks to lose your #1. When they decided to run Mr. Freeze backwards I was not happy about it. Did you have to wait long to ride it on Sunday? When you mean they played a salute, did you mean they played Taps? If not, this is the only thing I could find via search... ... ... [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] -

^^ Nice shot Also, thanks guys. Life's changing already. Our immediate family knows, but we're going to put something on Facebook to announce it to our friends and other family members on.... Halloween. Not because we're big fans of Halloween, but because it's scary as ffck for humanity that we're going to reproduce. That's one of the last days of the first trimester, so I figure we're safe to make the announcement. We took a picture of Emily pointing at the no pregnant riders sign to put on Facebook. This is going to be out "one and done" child experience. -

Emily and I went to the park last night. I haven't been to a Fright Fest in probably over ten years. I don't understand what everyone is bitching about. I thought the decorations were great. Our two points of reference are Kings Island's Haunt and Scarowinds, which are both awesome. FF wasn't on the level with those two parks, but their season passes aren't $50 a year and you don't need a skip the line pass to ride more than three rides on Friday night. The fog, lights, and decorations near The Palace Theater was really concentrated and it seemed to fan out from there. Since the park is small, I noticed less areas where it felt like the park wasn't themed. The loud "bumping" music from different areas in the park gives an impression of an amped up atmosphere throughout. The scare actor ratio seemed OK compared to what KI and Carowinds have. I go for the scenery. I'm in my mid 30's and can't understand why grown ups would be scared. I'm not trying to be insulting, but I just don't get it. I guess it's a little fun to be a little apprehensive about someone startling you, but I think there are enough props, enough of a crowd, and enough actors to make you keep your guard up. It could just be me. I feel like a douche throwing it out there and I hate to be that guy mentioning it, but I deal with enough life and death bullshit that a teenager in a mask does nothing for me. It probably just numbs the haunt experience (and life...) for me. However, and it's a big however, we did not do any haunted houses. We only stayed at the park for about two hours and I didn't know about the pricing. I think we saw that an all season haunted house pass was around $50? Seriously... where are the complaints? Budget park. Maybe they suck. I don't know. Here are a few things I noticed: *All of the classic lights had been replaced with deep glow flame lights, which was awesome. *Fog everywhere! *The troll walk through was great and an actor actually startled the crap out of Emily. (maybe she gets it?) *The projector lights look great through the fog. *Again with the music, despite some areas still playing typical pop music? *Outside of areas around Batman and near Screamin' Eagle, everything seemed very condensed and the atmosphere was consistent. Budget. *Again, The Palace and the front entrance looked really cool. And the winner is: The Blood Bank! That place was freaking cool. We didn't see the cheesy (I'm sure) show that takes place in there, but the seating and warm area is really neat. The bartenders were friendly and a cut above any amusement park bartenders. They didn't spend several minutes examining my Driver's License and they seemed to know what they were doing. Emily mentioned how neat the blood bags were and the bartender was really enthusiastic and encouraged her to try one. I let her know that Emily isn't allowed to drink for another 6 months. (I put a baby girl up in there.) I got a walk-on sunset ride on the best ride in Missouri, which of course is screaming eagle. I got a station wait night ride on The Boss. We rode the 30 second spooky car ride. We waited 15-20 minutes for JL. Two Skull Mug beers for me. We watched the show at The Palace for our maximum tolerable time limit on cheesy non-animal theme park shows (5 min). I'll be back for HITP! -

Apparently the locals think that they're entitled to CP opening up on a weekday just for them. That was after last weekend's insanity. When staffing is addressed, they seem to think it's silly to suggest there wouldn't be enough local workers who would be up to the task. (idiotic source: Facebook.com) -

Yeah, but Cedar Point management are a bunch of pussies. Kings Island is the best park in the chain. I'm sticking to it. -
Is it just me, or does $10-12 an hour not seem like that much money for a park you're surely not going to be at for more than that amount of time? The park alone isn't the only attraction, so the prices have to compensate for that. You're not going to see Disney packed midways of people spending money in droves. Although, I'll say that I'm new to this thread. Is the park financially independent of the mall? I suppose that would make somewhat of a difference.

KI was running coasters sub 40 degrees last year. They only closed a couple times earlier in the day and night for wind. Although, I think Diamondback may have stopped running around 11pm when it was a few degrees above freezing, even though the wind wasn't too bad. But... my memory is usually a bit foggy after going to KI Haunt. It looks like the construction crew is erecting a second crane running parallel with the brakes and lift. It's the white structure. I watched Fury's time lapse and after the second crane went up the crew started working on the lift and drop right away. It would make sense that getting the crane up today would make way for them to start hammering on vertical movement at the beginning of the work week. We'll see. -
