  1. My shoulder is trashed. I hurt it doing an overhead press a few years ago. Too much weight and bad form. In November the injury came back to haunt me and it won't heal up. I haven't lifted any weights, done any upper-body cross training, or played any hockey since then. Working out is a daily part of my life and I'm tired of just doing cardio and light core workouts. I miss playing hockey. After 11 sessions of physical therapy I was advised that I was wasting my time. I have a MRI scheduled for Friday. It's giving me the blues. Everyone always told me to take it easier on myself and rest my body more. I never listened. Being 34, I'm not old, but I'm not as young as it used to be. My over-activity finally caught up with me. Rant ended.
  2. It just looks like The Diamondback 2.0.
  3. I guess a raptor would fit the bill perfectly for this situation. It's small, reliable, and it must be priced just right. Well done, RMC.
  4. They're probably relocating to the right side of the fountain and they will rope off the left side.
  5. I don't think Six Flags would want this park.
  6. The facebook comments are continuing to entertain me, although people rarely take my troll bait anymore. One brilliant user said that he's not sure why KI would put the exact same ride as Diamondback in the park. He said at least Leviathan has less of a hyper layout than Orion and threw out the typical 'actual giga' remark. "Leviathan = Less. of. a. hyper. layout." What??? I had fun with that one. I really don't think he was trolling.
  7. Seriously bro... You really think the government should get involved in the closing of an amusement park? Just how much of a national landmark status was this? I'm curious if it's state or federal government that should respond? The closing of the park really sucks. But, I don't think bringing in the National Guard is a good idea. I had to pay on my taxes this year, man. I wouldn't want to give any more state or federal money to keep an amusement park open. There are plenty of people who can be 'helped' with that money, if you're into that kind of thing. I hope I misinterpreted your statement.
  8. Regardless, there's a better outlook than there was a few days ago. At least we're not hearing crickets.
  9. That makes me want to put some play-money into SF stock, but there are way better more and safer investments to be made. I like the sound of getting rid of some of the fffking bring a friend free and other discount days. At SFStl, those were the most rowdy crowds we've seen, right down to the girl literally pissing herself in the line for The Boss. I've made repeated mentionings of that, but I still can't get over it. I feel sorry for the person who sat in that seat when she got off.
  10. Too soon, Robb! Maybe I missed it, but did they take out the beach? If so, when did that happen? The owner in the documentary seemed like a great guy. He was so matter-of-fact about each topic. His responses were very direct, as if he were strictly responding to specific questions, instead of getting off of the subject. When he decided to add rides it just seemed to be a decision made out of his own common sense. He was entertaining to watch. I most certainly regret not driving a short four hours to the park.
  11. I think the entrance is going to look great. It will be nice for us all to approach a gate that doesn't look so worn down, with security pieced together. I guess there's a chance the park will recognize that and use them elsewhere.
  12. Kings Island, Six Flags Great America, Worlds of Fun, Silver Dollar City, Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World, and Indiana Beach are all within 4-6 hours of me. Guess which one I never visited? It was on my to-do list, but I waited too long. After watching the youtube video about the history of Indiana Beach, I really wish I would have been more determined to go. Bummer.
  13. Unless you want to marathon Le Scoot, like everyone should. I'd pay whatever Busch Gardens wanted for that privilege.
  14. ... if they ever start building the track. You'll be lucky if that devil is eating Thanksgiving dinner. Good thing Great Adventure has HITP so Six Flags can still advertise its new roller coaster for 2020.
  15. I moved next to a park. I didn't bank on the park installing lights on the baseball diamonds, but they did. I can guarantee that the noise from the ball diamonds, sometimes until 10pm, make more noise than allowed within the guidelines of our township ordinances. But, I made the decision to move next to the park. There are hundreds of children who enjoy playing into the evening, yet there is only my wife and I who are inconvenienced. I was smart enough to anticipate that although I chose to live next to a park, things may happen for the greater good that are outside of my control but are not completely unreasonable. I can't even imagine having the thought process of living next to a theme park without thinking about the short term and potential long-term consequences of noise. It's like living next to an airport and complaining that they added a new runway. Or, knowingly purchasing a home on a main roadway and complaining about the addition of another traffic lane. In my opinion, the only people who have any reasonable grounds to complain are the very few who built their homes prior to the theme park construction. Even then, I'm sure there was a city council vote to approve the construction of the noisy park. That would have been the time to press the issue. People will find a way to make sure they're living in a perfect world, no matter how many thousands of other people are effected. The residents of the community I work for would gladly take a little extra noise for the added tax revenue. I'd also like to see these 'rattling windows.'
  16. Sucks. I like to hear the coasters. It's a compromise. I just hope they don't dial back the clock on the Haunts and 12am Summer closings.
  17. It's really sad, because I have such a simple mind that the Go-Karts and Baseball game machine were my favorite parts of the TR. NOT to say that everything else wasn't incredible. Great update. This explains why you couldn't give two shits about Six Flags Great America.
  18. The OP and his friend William intentionally left the area just to avoid us at SFGadv.
  19. 1. How many parks did you visit in 2019? 6 2. Best new-for-2019 (or new-to-you-in-2019) ride? Probably Yukon Striker, even despite riding Leviathan. 3. Name the first 3 coasters that come to mind. First things to jump out for no particula reason: Coney Island Cyclone, Mr. Freeze, Beast 4. What was the best flat ride you rode in 2019? The horse racing ride thing at CP. 5. What is your favorite RMC under 130 feet? (cheat sheet) Storm Chaser is my only applicable coaster. Not a huge fan. 6. What was the last Premier coaster that you rode? Maybe Mr. Freeze? 7. Name a park you've been to that you're already planning to revisit. Kings Island. 8. What is your home park and how many times did you visit in 2019? SFStl. Twice, maybe? 9. What park are you most looking forward to visiting in 2020? Kings Island. Always. 10. Kennywood or Dollywood? Pick one Kennywood, despite our terrible one and only visit. At least they let you drink 2 beers... 11. What ride/coaster disappointed you the most in 2019? El Toro. It was uncomfortable. 12. You're at Great Adventure. You play that racist-ish gong game and win a one hour ERT session for you and your friends on ONE coaster of your choice. But damn! El Toro, Kingda Ka and Nitro are all down! So you ride... Bizzaro 13. What is the last coaster that changed your top 10? I don't rank. 14. Most recent park food you ate. Maybe a pretzel? 15. What park do you wish was your home park? Kings Island 16. What 2020 attraction do you have the biggest boner for? Orion 17. What park will you visit next? Kings Island or SFSTL 18. Favorite breakfast before a day at a park? Hyatt Breakfast. Somewhat healthy. 19. Cedar Fair park you visited most recently? Kings Island 20. Was it awesome? Always 21. Skyrush or Candymonium? Canymonium, likely. The restraints on Skyrush make it close to unenjoyable. Middle Row/Middle seat is most tolerable. 22. What 2 overseas parks do you want to visit the most? Europa Park and possibly Liseberg? 23. The best B&M coaster you rode in 2019 was? Nitro was really surprising. 24. What is the saddest/dirtiest credit whore thing you've ever done? One of those 20 feet high spinning coasters in Panama City Beach. 25. Last time you bought fast pass? Kings Island in August. 26. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2019? 30 minutes, if that. Fast passes are a must. 27. What season passes/membership do you currently have? None. 28. If you could go to a park with anyone on this forum for a day who would it be and to what park? There are a handful of people. It's weird to call them out. 29. Battle of the Busch 2020: Iron Gwazi or Pantheon - which would you rather ride? Pantheon 30. Most times you've ridden one coaster (rough estimate or exact if you're a super nerd) Over my lifetime; probably Batman at SFStl. 31. Congrats! You just won passes to spend A WEEK at the park of your choice! Dorney Park or Valley Fair? Pick one and why. Pass. I'll go to the beach. 32. Talk about a park food that knocked your socks off Melt @ Cedar Point 33. Pick one: Kumba or Montu Kumba, I guess. 34. What are your three least favorite woodies? Legend, Legend, and Legend, 35. Best sweet snack at a park (degree of difficulty: not Dollywoods cinnamon bread) Does a BGW pretzel with Honey Cinnamon 36. Kings Island is on the phone and they want you to decide what is going in the old Vortex spot. What do you add? Any kind of Multi-Launch. 37. What roller coaster currently sits at the top of your bucketlist? (degree of difficulty: NOT a new-for-2020 ride) The only thing I can think of is Copperhead Strike. 38. Name 3 parks you want to visit in the next 3 years. Return trips: Kings Island, Cedar Point, Kennywood (hoping for a better experience) 39. Name 3 other forum members you hope fill this out. I don't care. 40. Show us how cool you are by posting a picture of yourself on a coaster or in front of coaster. Bonus points if you're holding a sign with a number on it like the nerd you area. I hate myself for wearing park clothes at a park. It's a no-no for me. But, it was cold AF and I needed another layer. It makes for a great warm sweater to wear around the house or when I stink it up to and from hockey.
  20. You OK, guy? Because you seem irrationally angry about mechanical flippy-doo contraptions. I like his condescending term "coaster nerds," which he feels the need to use repeatedly. We're all "coaster nerds," yet this dude is triggered by a difference of opinion in roller coaster industry business practices. We're nerds. He is not a nerd. Reality check time. I feel that a lot of average consumers would be slightly let down if they visited a park and saw that the brand new advertised attraction wasn't open, yet. Six Flags' estimated new ride opening dates: "Eh... Whenever." I guess if it wasn't such a budget oriented chain people might have more of a reason to be upset. You get what you pay for, I suppose. Either way, people have a right to disagree with their business practices. It doesn't make them entitled to express their opinions on a discussion forum. There's no reason to get upset or come off as irrational.
  21. Ah. I understand. I was under the impression that West Coast Racers opened when kids were in school.
  22. I guess it's good to see MF bumped back to FL+. It got backed up a few times when I was there. I suppose it goes to show you how popular it is with guests. After all of these years it's still an icon.
  23. I've been looking forward to this. The cocoon building looks incredible. It's also surprising how many English translations are in foreign countries.
  24. Not nearly as much as they could do with the terrain Phantom's Revenge utilizes.
