  1. No one understands my jokes, anymore.
  2. I pray that CP will get a new coaster for their 150th anniversary. I hope that new coaster is something similar to Kentucky Kingdom's Kentucky Flyer. It needs to be highly teased, so I can watch everyone on facebook lose their minds. That would be my 150th anniversary wish.
  3. That's one of those things than within the first few seconds you think that would be a pretty cool thing to have. Shortly after, you wonder wtf you'd do with it.
  4. Not wanting to bring my work home was one of the reasons I put in a transfer request from our detectives bureau. To stay relatively on topic, I had the opportunity to transfer to a police department where the community was much more quiet and the department was smaller. However, I found out my vacation/comp time was going to go from nearly six weeks to three weeks after five years. It all came with a small pay cut, but I work in a somewhat rough city, so it was still tempting. However, when we were at coaster campout and I was still trying to decide, I realized how much fun I was having and how little we cared about spending the extra money for two days of FL +, Fun Pix, and anything else we wanted. In the end, I chose happiness outside of work, having more vacation and more money to spend. As a result, I stayed where I was. It also comes with less work on my days off, since a smaller department has to be more involved, with less support divisions. When I'm not at work, I don't think about work. Much of my decision was influenced by the great care free time we were having at Cedar Point. Although sometimes, I still regret the decision, when we're going from one violent call to the next on Saturday nights in the summer.
  5. From what I've heard, no one has a good time at SFA.
  6. Best advice ever and it's better than our usual lunch/short nap in the car. It's just one more reason why Hotel Breakers is awesome. What, you don't like the idea of taking your laptop, answering your boss's emails, responding to clients, and getting a head start on some work during the day? Damn. You sound like my wife. I'd still have to take care of all of that after the aforementioned lunch and nap. Basically, I'd have about three hours in the park in the morning and three at night...
  7. KI had a giant Christmas tree before the entrance gates. It had Christmas decorations and no attempt to have it blend in with the Haunt.
  8. Best advice ever and it's better than our usual lunch/short nap in the car. It's just one more reason why Hotel Breakers is awesome.
  9. KI seemed to encourage the public to see Banshee with the active web cam. I think they were pretty open about Mystic Timbers, too. 'If' anything gets constructed in that area anytime soon I think they'll let everyone see the development. It seems to work for them from an advertising standpoint.
  10. No disrespect at all, but I think you're the first person I've ever seen call Kumba and Montu not exciting. I guess they didn't really do a lot for Emily and I, but not for lack of the action packed layout. To each his own.
  11. Is there any kind of short waiver you have to sign to enter? Either that, or I seem to remember some kind of disclaimer written on the wall. I could be wrong.
  12. This. Parks want what they think will draw crowds. At this time, parks believe that inversion heavy rides will not draw crowds.
  13. I remember when City Museum was in its infancy and it had very little to offer. It was mostly a few sculptures and a climbing structure or two. People love it, but oddly no one I know, including myself, ever visits. I'm about thirty minutes away and I haven't been in ten years. No desire to go back anytime soon, but it seems like people from out of town love it.
  14. They should have an excellent view of the giga...
  15. Hello, neighbor. Emily and I live in Godfrey. If you see an APD Ford Explorer with blacked out reflective graphics, no light bar, and a push guard in front, that's me. I'm part of our street crimes unit for now, so I have the only one like it. You're right about the drive. It's exactly an hour for us.
  16. Good read. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Of course construction is moving fast. This coaster is tiny, which I'm not complaining about.
  18. Dude asked if he could do all of the coasters at CP in one day and explained how he didn't have control. His responses were, "Do more than one day." Don't make him be pushy with his family who has gifted him with this great opportunity. He should be grateful. My response to the question at hand is that one day at Cedar Point should be a blast with Fast Lane Plus. I think you'll be able to do almost everything you want to do. I'd personally skip Cedar Creek Mine Ride and Cork Screw. If you find yourself really enjoying a coaster then ride it again right away. Cedar Point is massive, so if you decide you want to ride Gatekeeper after Magnum you're going to eat up a big chunk of walking him. Make your way around the park hitting everything in close proximity and try not to bounce from one side of the park to the next. Try not to feel too obligated to squeeze everything in and just focus on having a good time. The last thing you want to do is give yourself any kind of stress during a day at an awesome place like Cedar Point.
  19. I'm a little late, but that article was a great read. Thanks for sharing.
  20. We were also at the park with my brother/sister in law last night. We had a 20 minute wait on Freeze and it was riding really well, except for one jarring moment before the return on the overbank. Aside from that, it was fast and smooth. For some reason it seemed really well lit by the floodlights last night. I really like the 90's Batman music in the station. Takes me back. Batman was also incredibly fast last night. When we walked through the queue it looked snappy. Emily hates it, but it was running so well that she actually had a good front row ride. It was a good way to close out the season. Those are the only two rides we rode. We tried to ride American Thunder before Batman, but it closed for cold temperatures as soon as we sat down. I noticed a few shortcomings. The colored flood light on American Thunder's structure wasn't there. Most of the blue outline lights near DC Plaza were out. There probably needs to be some changes on the Christmas tree show. I'm probably wrong, but didn't the natural lighted trees flash during the show last year? JB's badly needs a new bar top and some changes to make the bar less cluttered. The bathrooms could use some changes, but if we're putting them on Cedar Point level they're probably on par, just a bit smaller. Other than that, the Main Entrance area looked great. The staff went out of their way to be friendly. A tree was out near the Palace show and it was fixed quickly. But, I think the park hit a low point this year since our return. I'm not going to go on a tangent, but it seems like after years like this SFSTL usually bounces back. I hope next year will be a lot better. If guests notice it, management notices it. We should all remember that all parks are based on budgets. I'm sure a good deal of this year's budget went toward unforeseen ride repairs. I doubt SFSTL will turn into a shithole. I think things will get better, as they have in the past. Then again, I'm completely pulling this out of my ass.
