Dan - I've heard a song that goes along the lines of "No Sugar Tonight" Ryan King - Back in Time by Hewey Lewis (considering the fact that he has records and the fact that it was used in the BTTF soundtrack)

Suggestions for 500th coaster?
WillMontu replied to texcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you hit the Dells, 500 could be Little Titan (if you can get the ride op to let you ride, it would be a huge milestone or even better, borrow a kid for the credit) or that Wacky Worm thing at Riverview (or the Dragon Wagon!). If you hit Little Ammericka, and hit 500 there, it should be the Toboggan or the Kiddie Coaster of Death. -
RCT2: TPR Theme Park
WillMontu replied to WillMontu's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I'm still working on this park, I just don't get many chances to do so: Recently built/modified rides/attractions: Vekoma Death Box coaster Quadloop (I will also build a Cooking With Joe restaurant nearby) Bonus Helix - An SLC with an extra helix Thrill Coaster - A ride inspired by HSTC at Knoebels (never been there, but I've heard about it) Goshawk - A B&M floorless in Cedar Fair Land Kitty Hawk - A Galaxi style coaster in Cedar Fair Land Mission: SINISE - A spinning ride in the Rides-on-the-Moon themed area The Quadloop coaster A Deluge inspired slide, the "Wetness" ride and the Intamax strata-coaster Vekoma Death Box coaster -
I've never kissed a girl (or a guy for that matter) before, and I'm not sure what it would be like, and whether I would like it or not. I'm not in any hurry though.

SFGAm continued Knowing the low capacity of the ride (and its reputation for not being reliable), most of us who were smart headed for it after ERT Demon (and its clone at Great America in California) are probably the only coasters that actually gained inversions during their lifetime. Maybe they should do the same with SoB To be continued. Jahan was happy to ride It's a typical Arrow coathanger machine My group took Robb and Elissa's advice and headed for Demon next, also lacking Q-bot that day When the line is full, you probably would need to eat after waiting in line for Vu. The shoulder restraints had extra bars added during testing. It turned out that riders could put their arms up too far. It's still better than the shoulder bashing restraints on SLC's though. Two tracks equals two credits right? There's room to stick your whole hand in there if you wanted to A closer look at the track The evacuation platform is standard on many Boomerangs Why is it that the inverted Boomerangs have these large gates in the station instead of the standard air-gates like on standard Boomerangs? This is like porn for Derek The chevron seating is unique, but does add to the confusion for some riders Almost to the station, and the Geico 15 minute point The line itself isn't that long, but the waits can be very long due to the low capacity of the ride Unfortunately they weren't taking Q-bots for it that day -
I love the Alveys!
WillMontu replied to Big Mike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Without TPR: I might still be posting on RRC, or even Danimation if it were still alive I probably would have never hit 50 credits, or even 25 I might be riding down the stairs in a box with Vekoma written on it I might get stuff done I would have considered joining ACE (do they have an "under 200 pound" division?) I come here for the people, and the coaster porn! -
I just try and be careful with my money. I live by myself, so the rent/utilities/cable/Internet bills are a bit higher, but I bike instead of drive (I don't spend a penny on gas), work extra hours, and avoid unnecessary spending. I don't know how things work out at Chik-Fil-A, but at Target, people can specify availabilities and switch shifts with other people. If you get too few hours, see if anyone wants to give some up and if you get too many, offer to give them to people who need them. You never know, you might get a job at Cedar Point and hate it. They could have you out there emptying the 2000 trashcans. I also wouldn't count on them giving you that many hours. I don't know about state laws there, but in Florida, anything over 40 hours is considered "overtime" and employers try to avoid it if possible.

I'm giving this TR another chance. This section will be broken up into smaller parts Our beloved Vekoma masterpiece. To be continued (maybe) We already had Bull, so we went to the next best option Fortunately Robb and Elissa were able to get us Gold Q-bots to make the task a little easier But we had credits to get ERT was over By now, people were starting to enter the park Nobody wanted to ride with me Watch your feet! The park also opened up the Intamin drop for us WE'VE GOT A MOTHER#%^ING SNAKE!!!11one I though this shot was kind of interesting It had a few good headchoppers If you look closely, you can see that some of the lapbars are still up. They've torn down a few CyClones in the last few years, including Texas Cyclone, Aska, and Psyclone. Hopefully this one will remain for many years to come Some more pics of RB Viper - Not just another CyClone "Wang" Is the train half-full or half-empty? I'm going to be an optimist here and say it's half-empty When Robb and Elissa get us ERT, it really is ERT TPR loves Raging Bull A view of American Eagle from RB's queue So roomy an ACEr could ride it Many of us headed for Raging Bull, the second of the B&M hypers Regardless of whether the lawn ornament was doing anything, we had ERT to get in This was one of the first sights we saw upon entering. It does look kind of pretty for a lawn ornament Will they even let us in? ...though we have to get through security first But we can go in through the side entrance... But wait, ERT starts at 9:15 and they haven't even opened the gates yet It appears that Six Flags is having a Cedar Fair moment But we're not cavemen, we're fully trained coaster enthusiasts who weigh a little less than the other clubs Viper: So easy a caveman could do it. Welcome to Six Flags, brought to you today by Geico and Comcast. 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on your car insurance! One of the many perks to TPR trips Next up was Six Flags Great America -
While I can't say the same about their video cameras, I have had good experience with Canon still cameras. I don't have the money for a DSLR, so have a mid-range live preview Canon "A series" digital camera that works quite well. For night shots, make sure the camera has the option to shoot without the flash (nearly all do) and has a mount for a tripod (even a small one, as you can set the tripod on the ground, or in the case of a CF park, on a trash can). To get a decent night shot, the camera has to be steady. Also, a higher ISO may give better night shots on higher end cameras, but on many cameras a high ISO means a grainy image, so instead use the lowest ISO and a tripod. Action shots - Higher ISO means a faster shutter speed. It may also mean more grain. A common trick to better pictures is holding the button down halfway to focus the camera, and then pushing it completely to take the picture. Catching details - go with a higher resolution and OPTICAL zoom. Digital zoom is like not having zoom at all.

Looks like ACE might be calling your name. What ever happened to your "sex and water" diet? Good luck with everything!
-
As with the other TPR trips, if you really want to, you can rent a car and hit it on one of the days in place of another park, or hit it before/after the official tour.

The adventure of Lil' Robby Robb
WillMontu replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't imagine how bad it would have been with the G-trains. Are you going to do a Son of Beast comic too? That was worse Carl even got a battle wound from it. -
Return of the Theme Park Review house
WillMontu replied to WillMontu's topic in Random, Random, Random
Some more of the randomness that is going on. Keep in mind that in most cases, I will leave the Sims to do as they will. Sims made so far: Alvey House- Robb Elissa Kidtums Ryan TPR 1- Casey Guy Derek Nicole TPR 2- Joe Joey Wes Dan TPR 3- Soren Jeff Jahan Lou I am planning to make a few more people. Terrance comes to mind, as there are a few statues (and a few really big statues) around. Others I am considering: Carl (Homer) Erik Tomi (FLIPDUDE) Big Mike Rich Back over at the Alvey house: To be continued... Joe gets prepared for the next episode of Cooking With Joe Dan, Lou, Soren, and some neighbor who dropped by without being invited enjoy the hot tub. There hadn't been a fire in a while, so this tree here got hit by lightning, while everyone dances around and panics. Sorry, no fatalities Over at the Dan/Joe/Joey/Wes house, Soren stops over and gets Dan very wet It appears that she wants to ride the Vekoma Death Box Ryan give KidTums a bath KidTums has taken a liking to Ryan -
To make it short, they took out the loop so they could use lighter trains that would cause less wear and tear on the track. The loop wasn't the problem.
-
Coaster trains/cars never come off the track...unless it's a Morgan ride, though there was a TOGO Death Machine in Japan that lived up to its name earlier this year.

If this helps you narrow it down, go with one that uses MiniDV tapes (as opposed to a hard disk or DVDs). I know that some of the High-Def camcorders also use tapes, but I don't have much experience with them. Tapes are better suited for ride stuff (they don't skip like DVD's or crash like hard drives) and are generally better to edit with (Most MiniDV camcorders hook up to your system or even another camcorder using an IEEE 1394 connection) Also, I know that Robb uses Sony camcorders himself. I have a Canon, but Canon camcorders seem to give me a bit of trouble.

TR: Magic Springs and Crystal Falls, Hot Springs, AR, 10/21
WillMontu replied to milst1's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I enjoyed the TR. For some reason, all your pictures seem to be in reverse order. I'm also assuming that the power didn't go out when riding X-Coaster. I rode G-Force at Drayton Manor (which is the same type of ride, though a different layout), but that ride was uncomfortable no matter how much power it had. -
What Roller coaster is this (use any resorces possable)
WillMontu replied to winningfreak's topic in Random, Random, Random
http://www.rcdb.com/id3163.htm It's a "Jet Coaster", which basically means that it's a big coaster that doesn't do very much. -
Christmas Coaster Ideas. . .?
WillMontu replied to Vffreak07's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Go here first If you already have everything from there, consider: -Some of the stuff from eBay (ie. coaster cars, memorabilia) -Drink coasters -ARN&R's Cafepress store (it is Cafepress, but some of their stuff is funny) -KNex/CoasterDynamics toys -
AUS: Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler UK: Baby Jane - Rod Stewart US: Flashdance...What a Feeling - Irene Cara I don't think I've ever heard of them

Never ridden it, but Infusion bugs me. All the hype (BPB says it's the biggest SLC in the UK when it's actually the smallest), including peeps from the GP saying that it's better than Nemesis. It's just another (slightly used by a park just down the street) SLC, only it is built completely over water.

The park ones look small because I stitched a large number of pictures together and I had to resize them down to fit in the forum. A few more: beechbend2-2.zip Beech Bend in higher resolution tboltandphantom-medium.zip Higher resolution version of Thunderbolt and Phantom. I guess this qualifies as Coaster Porn! Gemini and Mean Squeak Draggin' Iron was running two trains on the first day - Here's proof! Racer
