^Would you care to elaborate? -

SLC of my choice. Would you rather do a bungee jump with a non-elastic rope or jumping 200 feet straight into the water?

If you give advice to your friends on how to avoid headbanging on a rough coaster before boarding it. -

Nice shots! I agree about Patriot's colours, they do look great. -

^So will I. Being honest, I would rather have DK's MCBR "fixed" than FB roughness improving at all. (that's how much I love the ride!) About Stampida: I rode it this year for the first time and was really really surprised by how "non-rough" it was. Sure, it wasn't smooth, but I didn't find it bad at all. (maybe that's because I only rode it in the front) -

^Wow 10 days Returning to Khan, I wonder how "aware" the park is of this. I assume they did notice the difference and I'm curious about what they think: will they do something about it (if they can at all)? (I guess not..... ) -

^When I explained the situation to a friend of mien who rode it this year with me (including the job of a MCBR) he also asked if they couldn't "turn it off" if they weren't using three trains. I would really like to see it running like it used to, But if as someone here said, they got new sensors and so on for the ride this year and so I wonder if this is a change forever. By the way, how are the operations? They were terrible for opening day, I'm expecting them to be much better now. -

^In theory they shouldn't have to use it with two trains either. (which was the amount they were running when I went there this year) -

^But wouldn't you expect the outer seats on the four across ones to be rougher as they are further from the centre of the train than the ones on the new trains? -

^Almost. But I still could hear it. It was just a very gentile touch of braking. The biggest problem now is the turn after the second loop, the corkscrews and the turn in the middle. The loop itself was ok as it gave a moment of near weightlessness (I still preferred the forceful fast mode, though) -
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay (BGT Discussion Thread)
rcjp replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I haven't done any skydiving yet but I know that as you reach terminal velocity you no longer feel weightless because it's basically the air resistance that's holding you at a constant speed (stopping you from accelerating) and you only get that freefall sensation while you are falling with an acceleration of 9.8 m/s^2 or close, which drop towers do provide (at least for the first few seconds). As you jump from a plain already moving at great speed I have heard that you don't quite get the same feeling as you would if you jumped from a balloon, or a building. Still, that's something I REALLY want to try (badly). -

^It's a great ride anyway. It's just that when I first rode it in 2012 you could heard the MCBR but you could barely feel it while this year I did feel and see the train slowing down quite a bit. I'm sure you'll have a great time. -

I've been watching Dragon khan POVs and offride videos since the season started to check how the MCBR has been trimming he speed and it looks like, right now, it's a little better than it was in the beginning of the year. That being said, it's still not what it used to be. As anyone been to the park recently? -

Most Coaster Credits in a Calendar Year

I usually don't travel that much every year so the maximum I got was 29 in 2013. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
rcjp replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Oh believe it! Last year when we were studying "the loop" in my physics class what we had to do was calculate the speed at which the train had to be travelling in order to make it without falling. Plus the loops were perfect circles, of course. -
The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
rcjp replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Yeah, it would be pricey. I think about it so often that I already have a layout in mind with 16 inversions. I also thought that if it had like a 400 ft tall drop it could become the world's steepest drop with normal sized trains. That would still mean a lot of ejector air, though -
