  1. ^^Some consider skyrush a "sort of wing rider" due to the winged seats. For me it's only really furius baco, although that U shaped roller coaster at Victory Kingdom in China has wing rider trains. I really enjoyed furius baco, yes it is pretty rough but the fact that it goes close to the ground all the time enhances the wing experience. It also has a great pacing and it's one of those rides that just makes me want to ride over and over again so badly! I do wish intamin made more of those, maybe with slightly different trains from baco (a little smoother) and with different restraints (maybe lap bars). ^ Yes it is pretty intense, I mean, if you look at the Gs (think it is 4.7) it's not that much but it delivers a massive punch.
  2. ^Talon was impressively good. I had heard some saying it was forceless but I found it great. The pacing was pretty good, the helix after the immelmann was forceful enough and I loved the ending: the corkscrew immediately followed by that sharp intense turn that goes almost 90 DEGREES and the unexpected airtime moment before the brakes. I was pretty impressed.

  4. 1 - Top Thrill Dragster 2 - Raptor 3 - Millennium Force 4 - Gatekeeper 5 - Magnum 6 - Blue Streak 7 - Wicked Twister 8 - Gemini 9 - Mantis 10 - Corkscrew 11 - Iron Dragon 12 - Mean Streak Didn't get to ride Maverick: it was closed for two consecutive days! And, as far as I know, the following day it was already running, bastards!
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNmMgM6tK94 Check this out, on 12:20 the guy pulls -4.5 Gs and on 13:30 he pulls more than +12Gs. I guess this would be a bit too intense for a coaster

  7. ^I would just change the restraints. Or is that what you are referring to? I would also add a nitro-style 540 degrees helix after shambhala's mid course and, if I had the chance, I would make the lift a few feet taller and keep the rest of the layout exactly the same as some extra seep wouldn't harm it at all. Add a second corkscrew and a helix (before the end) to great bear. Remove Kinga Ka's trims. I could go on and on forever....
  8. ^ Me too. I wasn't really expecting to enjoy the jojo roll as I'm not a big fan of hang time but it turned out to be quite fun.
  9. Well, what can I say? If it weren't you I would still be part of the GP. Thank you far all these years awesomeness! And Merry Christmas!
  10. I honestly think great bear would benefit enormously from something like a second corkscrew and a helix before the brake run, then it could be a top invert.
  11. This was not my longest line but one of the slowest, 1 hour for Fahrenheit with a not at all long line. The same day I tried to ride Skyrush in the front (at night) but I just had to give up. I was literally stuck in the stairs that lead to the station without moving a single step for like 30 minutes. I honestly don't know how that was even possible as they were dispatching trains (although really slowly) and I was not so far form the end of the line. It looked like the ops ran out of juice for the night and were just moving ridiculously slow.
  12. I haven't been on X-flight but it does appear to move a lot slower through the course than gatekeeper (which doesn't have a particularly impressive pacing) so maybe I would have said (even before having ridden any of them) gatekeeper. Having said that, I'm not a big fan of wing coasters, not because of the design but because all of them so far (talking about B&M) look pretty forceless (let's hope the heide park one will change that with its compact layout). Gatekeeper does look great but it was no more than "OK" to me.
  13. Here. I will answer for him. I don't care about atmosphere and theming most of the time either, but DisneySea and Epcot are my favorite two parks. I think what Yin means, and this is my feeling as well, is, "I don't care about atmosphere and theming as it doesn't apply to MOST parks, but when it does, it means everything, but when it doesn't, as long as a park has an AWESOME AWESOME selection of rides, I don't care about atmosphere and theming." At a park like Silver Dollar City. They have both. Outlaw Run, Wildfire, Powder Keg are arguabley some of the best in their class, the park is a pleasure to be at, and the staff is amazingly nice. Do I wish that Six Flags Great Adventure had all that too? Sure, of course. But they have El Toro and a bunch of other rides I like there also. Do I put Six Flags Great Adventure above Silver Dollar City? No. But does the fact that they DON'T have any atmopshere and theming bother me (and don't try to tell me they do, because they don't.) No. I like the park for what it is. And it's not a park that *needs* atmosphere and theming for me to have repeat visits there. That's what I think Yin means by his signature. Not sure why you felt the need to call him out on it. --Robb This. Perfectly said.
  14. Definitely agree. I was even going to say the same.
  15. ^^ MF basically has 4 airtime moments, only one of which actually provides some decent air (the last small hill). The drop and two big hills didn't really give me much negatives when I rode it, even though it was running a lot better in the afternoon than in the morning.
  16. I've been thinking: as they have added seat belts to rides like goliath, fullthrottle and titan which have nothing to do with RMC or Gerstlauer does anyone think they will also add them to coasters like B&M hypers at their other parks? I mean, I suppose it wouldn't be more surprising than putting them in the premiers. Didn't Nitro at SFGAd originally have seat belts?
  17. ^I suppose most of us never even think that they could explode just like any normal tyre. I'm a bit surprised they closed it for the day, though.
  18. I live in a pretty small place (compared to the cities in the US). It's called Coimbra and it has a population of around 150 000. Here are a few pictures (on the top you can see the 723 year old university).
  19. Me too, I love the snap! As opposed to what gerstlaueringvar said I actually didn't like the arrow corkscrews that much as I like them to be very fast and forceful (like on most B&Ms). I don't have any problems with cobra rolls either, I do find them quite fun.
  20. I don't think that's the only difference. They also look more comfortable than Skyrush's as: 1 - they meet your legs closer to the waist and 2 - they are shaped so that they will fit them more nicely. Probably intamin took the Skyrush concept and made the changes they think will improve comfort.
  21. Nice to see they've been doing something on Banshee as the layout construction itself hasn't really been moving. Looking forward to seeing more.
