Will wait to see the test runs but as of right now my vote goes to Gatekeeper. Yolo is a short ride that will more than likely be a very fun ride, I am just not all that into gimmicky coasters and Yolo seems all about the gimmick. The ride does have some very interesting aspects and the ride over the tophat will be a fun experience but overall not my cup of tea. Also Yolo just looks like the park just had to have another coaster and shoe horned it in wherever they could. Gatekeeper is just fantastic to look at and how it is laid out in the park makes everything on that side and front so much better. I am really looking forward to riding Gatekeeper the first week the park is open.

Least favorite coaster element.

I am also surprised at how many people say cobra roll, when for me they are one of the most fun elements on some rides. I do not however like the end of Raptor, coming around the final turn into the station and you get that final jerk for some nice head banging action. -

How I would love to see new trains on Wild Thing at VF, the ones currently running are huge. -

I would be really surprised to see Cedar Fair spend 25 million on a coaster for King's Island, not saying they won't but it would surprise me. -

I see something happening with IMAX and starship as well, but right now all that does is stretch the water park out more. I am not a huge water park fan but VF certainly needs a face lift in that area. Excited to see what will be coming in 2014. -

I think that the park could leave the wave pool and gut the rest of the water park and start over. I have always thought that the water park didn't flow (no pun intended ) and have wasted space. Now that the catering is being moved they can take out that building and add more water park. -

Valleyfair has a couple holes in it, some things I think would be good for the park. 1. An invert, anything would be great. Hell I would even be happy with a Boomerang or something Maverickesq 2. A water park expansion, the park is seriously lacking this. True it has a water park but it is dated and could use an expansion. 3. Another decent flat ride, maybe a Giant Frisbee or something along those lines. -

Thank you! Very surprised you recognized it, must be a Minnesotan I am, have stood in that spot many a time looking up. You live in Minny as well? -

Could it possibly be a foundation for the ride sign? I imagine the park could install a sign similar to Leviathan's. Does anyone know where the entrance/queue is going to be? That circle in the ground is probably where the sign/ entrance is going to be. In a previous statement, the park said that the queue will run along side the beach and (correct me if I'm wrong) under the station. Alright that makes sense, thanks. -

What is the circle in the ground by the turn heading into the lift hill on those pictures? -
What makes a park grow?
Coaster Curt replied to Coaster Curt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No. Look at what happened to Geauga Lake (or even the SF corporation as a whole) for a good example of that not working out in the end. You have to have more than just rides to keep paying customers coming back year after year. Right hadn't thought of SF, thanks that makes a ton of sense. -
What makes a park grow?

Alright but what makes a park grow, the rides that are awesome or just more people coming to the park to then get those better rides?? BTW I love your explanation. Would adding an El Toro, Maverick, Gatekeeper clones to Valleyfair all of a sudden make it a must do for every coaster enthusiast and Gp alike? Or increase the attendance a season then go back to what it currently has? -

Going with Steve on this one. -
1. Maverick 2. Raptor 3. Millennium Force 4a. I expect Gatekeeper to be here. 4. TTD 5. Blue Streak, really had fun on this ride. Second seat from the back was by far the best. 6. Gemini 7. Wicked Twister 8. Magnum Really everything below this really isn't worth a reride no matter when you are in the park. 9. Mantis 10. Iron Dragon 12. Corkscrew 13. Woodstock Express 14. Jr. Gemini 15. Mean Streak
