  1. If it is bare hands you have to go with the chicken sized horses, you can chuck them a mile
  2. I would have to go with the 100 duck sized horses, you can pick them up and put them all in a small enclosed area. Well maybe a medium enclosed area
  3. I have never gotten completely sick on a ride before but have gotten pretty close. I just limit or stay away from the spinning rides, better safe than feeling like crap for an hour or more.
  4. 18 Minutes to Valleyfair.
  5. So no one has any comment on this I am thinking it has to do with rides, if a park gets rides (good rides) it will bring in the people.
  6. ^ Sounds fantastic. I will be hitting the people around here in a month or so, right now we are getting bombarded by tons of school fund raisers. I think that I will have better luck once those fund raisers dry up.
  7. Kara you are heading to Valleyfair this year, awesome!!! Will see you there to enjoy a day on the coasters.
  8. I honestly don't know when I became a coaster enthusiast, I am pretty certain it was last year when I was planning a trip for a group of friends to drive 11 hours to Cedar Point. As a kid we weren't that well off and even though Valleyfair was less than an hour away I can only remember going once (maybe the age of 12), I refused to go on the Corkscrew, because you know it went upside down. Managed one ride on the High Roller and that was my coaster experience for the next 3-4 years. We did skip school now and then to spend the day at Valleyfair but the rides were never really a huge part of being at the park. Three years ago I bought season passes to VF for the family, we enjoyed going and riding but it was never a love of the coasters that kept us coming back. Then can the trip I was planning for the 4 guys to go to CP and have some fun. The more videos I watched and forums I read the more excited I became, I really had no idea the variety of coasters in the parks today, I was such an innocent and lacking experience because of the sad coaster line up at VF. Walking into CP the first time and taking in the size of Millennium Force and TTD was unreal to me, the first ride we took was front seat of Raptor................I was then instantly transformed from a fan to an enthusiast. Currently planning a trip with the group and we are doing Kings Island and Cedar Point this year and I am really already thinking of which park or parks we want to go to next.
  9. I am curious as to what people think makes a park gain attendance. Is it that brand new roller coaster that brings in the additional people or just the park in general and the new coaster helps people enjoy the park more? Is it a great themed park or themed rides? I myself don't have a huge love for themed rides, sometimes I look at rides and wonder if it would look better with no theme at all. Does Maverick at CP become a better ride with the way the ride and theme has been set up, I don't know. I am curious because looking at parks like SFStl and Valleyfair I have to wonder that if a nice new coaster was put in would the attendance increase a great deal or hold steady with what they normally average. Why do parks like SFMM and CP constantly get the new shiny toy? Thoughts, or perhaps some hard facts.
  10. I am guessing the the cost would be a bit less by having the track come through the same structure as the lift hill.
  11. Need to wrap one of these around my house, start it up around 7 in the morning and let the neighbors complain.
  12. Parks make people do things they normally would never do (at least I hope), they leave their brains at home and just go to have fun, and ask dumb questions and do dumb things.
  13. These are pretty damn funny stories!! Keep them coming.
  14. Still can't believe no one commented on this thread having disappeared for 8 years suddenly gets new life
  15. ^ That is pretty interesting.
  16. ^ That dust pan comment was pretty funny. Who grabs a dust pan to whack someone with anyway?
  17. ^^ It certainly looks better with the new paint job.
  18. ^ Great words. Some of these stories are pretty damn funny. So it isn't ok to snort cocaine in line, gotcha.
  19. Just looked at both Steel Eel and Great Bear, Steel Eel looks pretty nice IMO as well.........Great Bear, not so much.
  20. I want to hear some of the stories of the people who have worked in the parks. What are some of the things that you have seen, been asked about or just shook your head because it was so unreal? Sorry if this is also located somewhere else.
  21. That layout is so doable........just need to figure out how to float the track above the park, easy.
  22. ^ Well that is a good thing, if I ever get down to Florida to take in the parks I will have to make sure to stop off at Fun Spot and give that wood a try.
  23. I keep watching those videos for slowest lift hills and laugh every time, how or better yet why are they so insanely slow?
