The "Pleasant/Unpleasant Surprise" Thread
Coaster Curt replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have enjoyed reading this thread because of all the diverse opinions regarding some of the same coasters. Surprises: Blue Streak, this coaster was by far a highlight of the CP trip, never expected the airtime. MaXair, I was very reluctant to ride this thinking it would end the day because I would be feeling sick. Very fun and nothing that induced any sort of sick feeling. Really looking forward to riding this again. Unpleasant: Mean Streak, people said it was a horrible ride and sadly they were true. I expected a nice ride after it was retracked in places and it is by far the worst woodie I have ever been on. -

^ Awesome post!! I don't understand the mentality behind bashing a coaster before it is even half completed. This coaster looks to be hands down the best winged coaster built to date, give it a chance because it will probably be a great ride. The location is fantastic and just picking and choosing different seats for each ride will be a ton of fun, every seat will give a little different ride. Just think one of those seats may in fact give you the best ride of your life. -
My home park has been so overdone the last couple years because one of the kids is now tall enough and she loves all the big rides, so I take her whenever she wants to go, being a small park (Valleyfair), it has gotten a bit stale to me and staying for a couple hours is about right. Going to new parks for a couple days is not something I have gotten tired of yet

Those key holes are huge. -
Took me right back to the trip I took there last year and made the trip back this year seem so far off. Nice pictures that you don't always see other places.

Windseeker Status

I guess I am in the group of "biggest waste of 5 million", the ride does nothing for me. -

Sounds like CF needs to get a nice refund check form the manufacturer. Windseeker has been a pretty crappy operational ride since they opened the first one. Please correct me if I am wrong here. -
Why Does Everybody Hate on Six Flags?

Disorganized, SF overall seems to not have a consistent idea of what they want to do or not do in the parks. -

Seriously, Magnum has the highest amount of riders? What are the top ten rides in the park according to rides given per year? -

Really looking forward to riding Gatekeeper in May, at least a couple times. I hope the lines stay long at Gatekeeper because that will shorten my wait time on the other awesome rides in the park -

So planning on being at Kings Island on May 15th, but one of the guys in the group might have a schedule problem and we might need to move the trip to the following week, so then we would be in the park on May 22nd. Just curious as to how the crowds would be on May 22nd, I would expect the crowds to be pretty light on the 15th. Thanks. -

After riding TTD a couple times last spring I was to the point of........"Ok it was fun but I would rather marathon Maverick or even Millennium". Millennium is a great ride, great first drop, great second drop and I think the speed overall makes the ride really fun to ride. -

Thought this was a funny comment posted on the Trip Advisor website about Kings Island. Clearly a CP fan but doesn't know they are owned by the same company? How do you replace wonderful Paramount memorabilia and attractions with nondescript rides and Peanuts characters? Updated the water park to the point it put the Beach out of business, but unless you pony up for the gold pass, and all the other fees, might as well plan to visit 3 rides for your $50...My suggestion: Take a trip to Sandusky, much more fun for the $$. -

Hope those key holes are big enough, wouldn't that be a kick in the shorts if they come up a bit small -

Valleyfair certainly doesn't need a Windseeker, just my opinion from someone that has been to ValleyFair many times in the last couple years. It could however use a nice coaster, nothing huge but something that can be ridden over and over. You know a Maverick clone would be just fine -

Honestly right now any new ride be it a flat or coaster would be very welcome at the park. -
What's your favourite part of the ride.

I do love some good floater air, and the drop. I know it may sound weird but the floater air on Wild Thing at Valley Fair is some of the best I have had the pleasure of experiencing, true the rest of the ride pretty much sucks but the first two hills are really worth it. -

As it stands the water park at ValleyFair is a joke, it needs a huge facelift with I am thinking 2-3 new water rides/slides. With them moving the catering out of the current building to a new location it will help with that expansion. One area that needs to be reworked is the path between the (former) catering building and the Mad Mouse, that path is just too small for a large amount of people to consistently move through there. -

I am getting really pumped to get on that ride in May. Any word if Gate Keeper is being added to the Fast Lane line up or if it will be open for that hour early for pass holders and people staying at the park? -

For those of you that have been to Kings Island can you fill me in on the good seats to try and ride on for Diamondback, Beast, Firehawk, Invertigo, and Vortex? This will more than likely be my one any only trip to Kings Island so would like to make the best of it, thanks.
