Coaster Curt

May 13th I will be at Kings Island and May 14/15 at Cedar Point . We are shooting for 50 coaster rides per day for a total of 150 for the three days, it is going to be a ton of fun!!

I don't consider a coaster that happens to be indoors a Dark ride, but was saying that a typical ride that is classified as a dark ride is essentially a "ride" that is just a big video game. Correct? honestlyif I am at a park I am not wasting time indoors playing a video game shooting light lasers, I am out on the coasters, but maybe that is just me.

So a dark is essentially a moving video game correct?

I had heard that for most of last season they assigned seats, figured that was only a first year thing and might have changed it this year. We are looking to ride it a ton next month, but also have no intention of going first row every time either.

Anyone know if there are assigned seating on Banshee when in the Fast Lane line?

I had read somewhere that last season the FL line for Banshee the operators were directing people where to sit. Is that going on again this year does anyone know?

I know I have seen it posted here before but couldn't seem to find the answer. Anyway, what are some of the better places to eat while in the park? Going to be there all day so need at least 2 choices to try, thanks.

They could certainly get rid of Riptide, I almost never see anyone riding it. The thing with Riptide is that it is tiny and takes up almost no space. You take it out what could conceivably go in that spot?

Next up for me will be Banshee.

I certainly hope VF doesn't get a Windseeker, one of the worst "rides" I have been on. Spending that kind of cash for a boring maintanence nightmare is not something this park needs.

^ This is exactly why we are probably going to do FL plus when in the park. Three of us are driving in from Minneapolis and another is coming from Pittsburg, we are looking to get in as many rides as possible that day, not wait around in any lines if possible. If I lived near the park I wouldn't even think about a FL because I could go whenever, but we don't so Fal plus here we come.

I would recommend flying into Cincy, doing Kings Island one day then drive up to Cedar Point for two days. Do like a weds, Thursday, Friday thing and leve Saturday morning. Going mid week you will probably avoid huge crowds and get more rides in versus more waiting in line. Just a thought.

But really is Flight of Fear really worth being on FL plus? Last time we were there it didn't really do much for me.

Does anyone know of a map or article that shows where all the FL lines enter or converge on the regular line?

We are also going to be at Cedar on May 14-15, the last two times we have gone it has been during this time. The lines are decent but with us coming from Minneasota and Pennsylvania we just go ahead with the FL because we are there to get in as many coaster rides we can. We are hitting KI that weds to get some rides in as well. We are shooting for 50 coaster rides a day and if we are lucky more than that. How many in your group are going? We are still looking for a forth to even things out. I don't do spinning rides either but MaXair is easy and a fantastic flat ride.

Ape, you might be correct about Firehawk, that sun going up the hill is horrible.

Anyone know if they are keeping the same FL line for Rougarou as they had for Mantis?

Actually really excited to see what they are going to put into that spot. That location gets a ton of traffic, I don't know what they could put there. All season to speculate (perhaps), that is just evil genius right there.

A couple things: You're more than likely going to run into school crowds until around 5p, but other than dealing with a bunch of pre-teens and teenagers, it probably won't be too busy. FastLane Plus is a rather huge cost if it's only going to be a couple people, especially if you're only going to be saving 5-10 minutes from waiting in line. Wait until you get to the park to determine if you guys want to buy FastLane. You'll know when you pull in how busy it is by how many buses are parked near the gate and how full the front 2 lots are. Start with Firehawk and Flight of Fear early in the day, those lines get fairly long as the day goes on because of the lower capacity. You can save Banshee, Diamondback, and Beast for anytime of the day if you want because those lines move fairly quickly, since they're people eaters. Even if the park isn't busy, still do Firehawk and Flight of Fear first. We had planned to wait till we get to the park to buy FL. Thanks for the advice of hitting Firehawk and Flight of Fear first, I had forgotten the lines got really long later in the day. How is the line for Banshee normally? Where does the FL enter the line, is it a straight to the station FL line? Thanks again.

Have a couple of questions. Heading to KI on May 13th which is a weds. Last time we were there Banshee was just breaking ground. I am curious on a good way to attack the park now that Banshee is there. We are coming from Minneapolis and Pittsburg so want to get in as many rides that day as possible. 1. Do we need to buy a Fast Lane Plus? 2. Plan of attack, where is it recommended to start? 3. We are pretty much sticking to the coasters so only looking for advice with those. 4. Probably skipping Invertigo and Vortex, Vortex killed my head last time there. 5. Any other advice for us? We are looking to get in at least 40 coaster rides that day so any help with a plan of attack would be greatly appreciated.
