  1. That kid looks like a complete asshat riding the coaster like that.
  2. I am with you, can not stand the 4D term in connection with coasters.
  3. I don't see Iron Dragon going anywhere with according to Tony's blog got nearly 1.1 million riders last year. Back to Gemini for a second as well. A couple years ago we rode Gemini about 20 times over two days because it was so much fun with the dueling coasters, two years ago much the same, then last year we went again and the ride was terrible. Most transitions into the curves and especially the turn into the station were back breaking. We rode it twice and honestly going back this year we have no intention of riding it again because the last time was so bad.
  4. Thanks for letting me know. I was originally planning on spending only one day at the park, but since I have a Dorney Park Platinum Season Pass, I may spend two days. The other two parks I plan on hitting up in my "Upper Mid-West Coaster Trip" are Valleyfair and Michigan's Adventure, so I'm pretty sure I can hit everything in those two parks by spending one day at each. You only need about 17 minutes to hit everything fun at Valleyfair. Maybe hit Kings Island for a day instead of VF? Plus save yourself a 12 hour drive to get to VF.
  5. Did anyone else get the year end survey from the park? I did mine and stated that we would not be getting 2016 season passes, had about 20 questions after that asking why and how come.
  6. See I must just be getting old, I like floater air and much less ejector air.
  7. But I shouldn't have to "learn" how to ride it, I should be able to sit back, strap in and enjoy the ride. Instead it is a painful experience that I don't intent to go through again. I will catch a couple more rides on Gatekeeper, Maverick, or Millie.
  8. Can't stand Magnum, avoided riding it the last three times we made the trip to CP. I would rather have more rides on coasters that don't beat the crap out of you.
  9. ^ That is true, but I am still not renewing my families passes for next year or anytime if something decent doesn't get added to the park. I was really getting excited about the prospect of getting a Delirium type ride (one of my favorites at KI and Cedar), but of course we don't get that. Instead VF gets Flyers.......wow, super awesome and wonderful and all that. Once you have ridden WT and Renegade a few hundred times it just becomes mundane and boring to ride them, when there is literally zero thrill left on the two big coasters it is time to walk away. Oh right I forgot there is also that exciting really amazing bike show........yeah that will be pulling the people in from nowhere. My eight year old and 10 year old are done with VF, just because they are younger doesn't mean they don't like big rides and thrills. VF really needs to stop building (as my kids put it), little kid baby rides and put something in that is fun.
  10. It's great that the park is adding a couple things and obviously have people who know what they are doing. All I am saying is that a bike show and Flyers isn't something that will get me back to the park next year. In my opinion it is a mild park and the thrill rides that are there once ridden a couple hundred times have lost all thrill.
  11. Well Coasterguy can laugh about whatever he wants but the fact remains that I won't be buying 5 season passes to VF and won't be dropping $1500.00 there over the course of the season. Now $1500.00 isn't a huge number but honestly I feel as though that expendable income can be used in a variety of other things. Take that amount times a few families and it becomes a decent number that isn't being spent at VF, the park is fine but nothing to entice people to actually make a trip from somewhere else.
  12. Sadly I don't see any coaster coming in the near future, maybe some more slides but honestly it will take something special to get me to renew the family passes to VF. I understand it is better than nothing but damn after going so many times the last few years there is no thrill left at the park.
  13. The announcement was Flyers and a bike show, wow.........no really that is beyond awesome. I will not be renewing the families season passes for next year, last years lame slides (not everyone likes drops slides) and now a Flyer and bike show, seriously VF is such an underwhelming park it is crazy. I can't believe that VF is hyping up a ride that harkened back to the first days of the park, who cares. Those were really fun 40 years ago, it would be nice if the park would get something really great for once. And no I don't want to hear about last years drop slides or some lame skate coaster. The last coaster at the park was way too long ago.
  14. That sounds fantastic, really enjoy Blue Streak.
  15. No trims, man I hope they keep it that way for awhile.
  16. Really don't even waste your time on Corkscrew or Mean Streak, boring and painful. Gemini is a fun coaster and really easy to marathon if you would like too. Blue Streak is a great ride, we found the best air to be the second from the back. The very back seat just crutches your spine and makes for an unpleasant ride. MaXair is a fantastic ride, wish we could get something like that at my home park. Power Tower is a snooze feast, skip it. The drop is very mediocre, the shoot up is probably more fun. The Slingshot sometimes has a sale right away in the morning, might be the best time to check it out because it is a huge savings. Maverick is a blast to marathon, very easy to get 10 plus rides an hour on it with FL plus.
  17. I would head out to the event but my first ride will be either on Diamondback or Banshee this coming week, can't decide. I know a great ride on Renegade would be great but will hold out till Weds next week
  18. At Kings next Weds, really looking forward to a lot of laps on Diamondback and Banshee!!
  19. I will be at Kings next Weds and Cedar Thursday/Friday. Two of us are coming from Minnesota and a third is coming from Pennsylvania, we didn't think twice about getting FL plus for both days at Cedar. One of the days is a "free" FL plus bracelet for booking into Breakers last year. We are spending the cash for FL plus on Thursday as well. We figure that being a once a year trip to the park we want to ride as much as possible and without FL that just isn't probable. If we want to ride Maverick (especially with the new restraints) 10 times in an hour that is what we will be doing. Millennium Force will be our early entry coaster because the FL line kind of sucks so we will get as many laps in on it before the park officially opens. this year the FL plus has four coasters on it: Gatekeeper, Maverick, Roigarou, and TTD. We aren't all that interested in TTD because the FL line is fairly crappy as well. The other three coasters we are very interested in getting as many laps as we can I hope that Rougarou has a decent FL line so we can get 10-12 rides on it per day. Have fun with your trip, Cedar Point is an awesome place and more so with the luxury of FL plus.
  20. Quick question, why hasn't The Beasts lift hill ever been sped up? The lift on that coaster is close to the slowest I have ever seen. Plus thanks for all the FL replies from earlier.
  21. ^ I get that but we are also shooting for 50 plus coaster rides that day. Is there a chance to marathon Banshee and get in 20 rides on it without FL+? Banshee is about my only concern if we can get in a bunch of rides. Two years ago when we were there around the same time we certainly didn't need a FL. Everything in the park was a walk on. One of the guys going this year absolutely loves inverts so we will be getting as many rides as possible on Banshee.
  22. Will be there May 14/15, have three in our party. If anyone is interested we are doing FL plus on Thursday the 14th and could use a forth person to buy a FL band to drop the cost a bit. You know if anyone was interested that is
  23. ^ That is one ride I would never get on. I can see they are fun but too much spinning is a bad thing.
  24. We are at Kings on May 13th, going to get the FL plus as well, we are there to ride not stand in lines.
