  1. But as long as a new complex is being built adding more parking is a pretty easy thing, I am not saying that they need to move all parking off the point right now just that it could be an option in the future.
  2. Now that this sports complex is being built what are your thoughts on them adding in some tram system and finally moving all parking off the point and onto the mainland? They are already making a new complex so why not add more parking and turn most of the peninsula into rides?
  3. I would just spend the extra cash to stay in the park, you are already flying into Cleveland so why not stay in the park? You will also get early entry by staying in the park, gives you an additional 2 hours ride time without any sort of crowds to contend with.
  4. It won't be all that busy because schools will still be in session. You planning on going during the week or weekend? Weekend will obviously be busier. One thing to consider is that the park doesn't stay open late (till 10) till the second week in June, if that is something you hadn't thought about yet.
  5. It was dumb then, it is still dumb. Ideas when those trains will get on so we can see Valravn running?
  6. The old trains were a bit tight in the leg room, but I did like the bar much better than a stupid ass divider and new lap bars.
  7. A couple years back I did a cost run down of what it was going to cost getting the platinum passes for Cedar. That year we were going to KI, CP, and of course VF. It was cheaper to get the daily passes at both CP and KI and the season pass at VF than it was getting the platinum passes. We were staying on site at CP so were not worried about the parking situation.
  8. Less season pass holders is never a good thing, I just don't feel the park has done enough to entice my dollars back for season passes. My girls who are 11 and 10 both asked to not get passes this year because in their words "the park just isn't that much fun without big new rides" Now when 11 and 10 year old's are saying the park needs to add some new big rides there is a problem. I am not talking about Flyers, or a skate coaster, or a bike show. Those are adding something just to add something.
  9. Zero interest in the Flyers, it is such a lame addition in my opinion. Canceled the season passes for the family we have had for years.
  10. I was never a fan of the old flumes, low capacity and to me fairly boring. I think most people comment that getting a flume for CP is more out of nostalgia than anything. Just a thought.
  11. The thing is it is just not fun to ride, with the added water park expansion I think it has even less people riding it than before. It has a decent size location so maybe take it out and add a nice Huss ride in its spot. Right in front would be a great location for one.
  12. Get rid of it, I haven't ridden that thing in years. Would make a nice spot for a station for the new coaster
  13. Damn. I didn't know the boat ride was no longer operating. My wife and I went on it several years ago and actually thought it was a nice/fun break from coasters. A break from coasters.........that's cute
  14. I don't wear glasses myself but am bringing one of the spawn with to Cedar for the first time, she is 11 and loves coasters. I suggested we get her a set of contacts for the couple days we are there but she seems set on wearing her glasses. I will just get a nice strap and make sure the glasses stay on her head. I can't imagine a worse thing than driving from Minnesota than lose her glasses the first hour we are there. Thanks for the comments.
  15. Does anyone remember the policy for eye glasses? Can you wear them on the coasters or do you need a strap? I am asking about prescription glasses not sun glasses. Thanks.
  16. We have done this the last two years. Spending the day at Kings makes the drive up to Cedar very very long and tiring. This year we are not doing Kings at all and just doing two days at Cedar, much better coasters and a great deal less driving.
  17. Once again, thanks for breaking it down, super helpful!! One more question since you said you reserved your FP ahead of time...can you pick up the wristband itself a day or two in advance? I will be arriving Monday evening, spending few hours that night, then spending all day Tuesday and Wednesday. I will only fork over the FP money for only one of those two days, most likely. My question is can I pick up the wristband on Monday night for my visit on Tuesday/Wednesday? It wouldn't inconvenience me too badly if I can't, but it would save a bit of time. Also, where do I pick these wristbands up? Can I get one at the entrance by WT since that is where I'd go as a Breakers guest? And can I pick it up before I get in for early entry? Thanks in advance. You know I am really not sure. One year we got them at the gate just by showing them the tickets for the purchase, I think another year the hotel had them and we got them handed out when we checked in. and kept the second days FL pass in the safe. Either way you can get the FL bands at the gate when you walk in for early ride time, just don't try to use the FL before the park opens, they kind of laugh a little bit at you. We did get the bands by Wicked Twister two years ago, last year was at the hotel (I think we got them at the hotel because with the hotel stay we got a FL + thrown in, guessing that was the reason to get them at the front desk last year).
  18. Millennium the FL line merges at the bottom of the ramp leading to the station, very easy for that to be a 45 minute wait. Gatekeeper has a decent merge spot, takes maybe 12-15 minutes even on a busy day. Maverick you walk right up into the station, On a slow day you can easily get a ride on Maverick every 10 to 12 minutes. Raptor you walk almost into the station, we got 3 rides last year in 17 minutes, that was a pretty fast turn around I am hopeful the FL line on Valravn is similar to Gatekeeper letting you get some nice fast rides on it. We have studied the FL lines and when to ride fairly extensively because we are only there once a year so want to make the most of each visit.
  19. 1. The last 4 years we have gone the first week in May, this year we are switching to June when the hours switch to 10 in stead of 8. The reason for this is we are bring a couple kids that need to finish school first. 2. We normally grab at least one meal at Pinks for some good dogs, other than that not a great selection of food places. We normally grab something once the park closes of the night. I wouldn't leave to go eat somewhere, that is going to take up a bunch of time that is better spent riding some coasters. 3. We stay on the Point at the hotels there and just get the FL+ when I book the hotel, no sense taking the chance of them selling out (I know they probably won't but driving from Minnesota I am not taking the chance). 4. FL lines. We always hit Millennium first thing and ride that as many times as we can before the park opens and don't ride it again till the next morning, the FL line is pretty crappy there and you can use your time on a ride with a great FL line to get in more rides. The coasters with good to great lines are Raptor, Maverick, Gatekeeper, Blue Streak, and hopefully Valravn. Rougarou has a decent FL line but the ride is such a head banger we normally only ride it once while there. 5..Have never seen a show while at the park, need more coasters rides so no time to sit and watch a show.
  20. Sweet!! Watching in great anticipation
  21. Been to Cedar the last 4 years, never saw a need to ride STR's, so I won't be missing it. Interested to see what they decide to put in it's place.
  22. We typically hit CP in May when they still have school so no matter what the lines are pretty decent. That being said once we ride Millennium at early entry we normally don't ride it again that day because the lines are too long.
  23. ^ Much cheaper to just get the FL plus and not worry about it. MS almost never has a line when we go.
  24. We drive from Minnesota once a season to hit the coasters at CP. We however do not waste a second getting in line and riding Mean Streak. It is such a craptastic coaster that breaks your back. I do not want to have to ride it defensively just to ride the thing. It is a slow and boring layout that needs to change or get knocked down for something good. Plus Maverick sits right there, why not get in line there and get a couple awesome rides in on that?
