  1. When we went in 2004 my 9 year old loved Knott's, which we went to on the first day because it opens a little later and we were driving in from a ways out. We drove by SFMM on the way in, it looks SWEET from the freeway. We got the Southern California Citypass, which gave us 1 day Knott's, 3 days DLR, 1 day San Diego Zoo and 1 day Seaworld. We spent 2.5 days at Disneyland and one afternoon at DCA. Now at the time, she was afraid of coasters (we did talk her into Gadget's Go Coaster), but we found DCA not very special. After we used up our pass, we had one more day-she voted for Knott's. This past year (2005) has been a breakthrough year for her, she went on all the woodies and corkscrews around here, so when we go to SoCal this summer, we are going to SFMM. I think with SFMM, half the fun is the anticipation, so we are going to save it for last. , besides, it's on the north end of town, on the way back for us.
  2. Just took a look at the montage trailer
  3. If you're reeeeally on a budget: Motel 6 Sandusky - Milan #4016 11406 US 250 North Milan, OH 44846 (419)499-8001 11.6 miles Map It Red Roof Inn Milan #643 11303 US 250 North Milan, OH 44846 (419) 499-4347 10.7 miles Map It Looks like the Red Roof is actually cheaper at the end of August.
  4. I voted for Xcellerator, because it's the only one I've been on.
  5. Plus, how do you get a 15 yard penalty for a cut block on a tackle? The Steeler that "sacked" Hasselback was offside, he beat the snap by about half a second. One of the Seahawk incompletions, the receiver had one foot in and the other foot knocked the pylon over, which by definition is INBOUNDS.

    X's Restraints

oh yes! i forgot about that! the next few days my legs were all sore! they were all bruised up! On rides like Fireball and Inverter and Top Spin, I find myself clenching the bottom of the seat with my calves and heels. It helps me feel a little more secure in the inversions.
  7. What time of day are you arriving? Feb 16 Knott's, DCA and USH open til 6 pm, Disneyland open til 8pm. Also, the crowds will be a LOT less on Monday than Saturday-I would go to the most crowded park on that day. Tuesday should be pretty good for Disneyland. Saturday is always busier than Sunday in every park-except DCA, which has the biggest crowds on Sunday. Folks from Southern California, please correct me if I'm mistaken.

    Future USA Trip

Now that looks like a plan!
  9. Now I've seen EVERTHING A monkey riding a capybara
  10. So something like "Canada Joy Land" on Chilly Beach-including a log ride with a horrific wind chill, then an incredibly hot humid section where you get swarmed by mosquitos...
  11. A ride named "The Constitution" wouldn't last long-Bush would sneak around in secrecy and crap on it! "Nixon told me to do it!"
  12. I think you mean Giovanni Ribisi as his crime-spree buddy. Jaime Pressly is wonderful, she's not afraid to play trailer trash, yet she was beautiful in the wedding episode. SPOILER ALERT Wedding Episode: I loved the thinking in the list: "Ruined Joy's wedding" then "Slept with Crab Man's fiancee" -same person, different point of view Giovanni Ribisi from IMDB
  13. So I guess they're building DCA-Disney's Chinese Adventure? It will be like Chinese amusement parks of yesteryear-all the staff will wear those creepy green uniforms and follow you around....
  14. I would think it depends on how much time you have. If you have a few days to spare, you could hit PGA, SFMW, San Francisco and Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Count on taking a full day to get between the LA basin and the SF bay area. If you have the time, Highway 1-the PCH is really cool to drive along-you may want to take I-5 to save time in the other direction.
  15. that's so uncalled for. What? Don't you ever play "Team America: World Police"?
  16. If Pittsburgh is so great, why were they a wildcard? I mean, they are great on the road, but if you have the better record in the playoffs, you get to be the home team. You know, one reason the Seahawks get no respect is that they only faced "weak" teams-they beat every team in their division twice-that sure makes the rest of the division look pretty bad. If the Seahawks treat the Super Bowl as another game and don't get overwhelmed by it all, it will be a close game. Record setter Shaun Alexander
  17. Mindbender in West Edmonton Mall derailed, which I believe caused the restraints to fail.
  18. The restraints use a foot pedal on the outside of the cars to lock. Here's a picture from the Playland website. These guys look a LOT happier, you're supposed to leave loose items at trackside, BTW
  19. It can be done, Expo '86 had FIVE McDonald's!
  20. If I had anything to say about it, one of these: One of these would be cool too Looping Starship. Man, I miss this ride...
  21. I'm guessing with a starting price of $500, you got booking fees, transfers, fuel surcharges and TAXES. That puts you at about $1000 each-probably a family of 5-there you go. $5000 would buy a whole two weeks drive down to LA, plus citypass (3 days DLR, 1 day USH, 1 day SD Zoo or WAP, 1 day Seaworld).
  22. It's about 4 days by car to Los Angles down I-15. My girlfriend and I drove from Calgary to Las Vegas in 3 days. It took my wife and I 3 days to get back Los Angeles is like 250 miles further. Or you could hit Silverwood, then Oaks in Portland, then SFMW or PGA, then SFMM on the way
