Being flashed by that woman = nightmares for a lonnnng time... Anyway, Cllins, there's nothing wrong with train pictures. I enjoyed them and thanks for sharing. Eric -

Six of seven members of my family smoked. (Guess which one didn't? ) As of today, two of them are dead (Dad and my sister), two have quit (my mom and my other sister), and both of my brothers still do, though not as much. From what I've heard, smoking is even harder to give up than cocaine. And it's true that you have to want to quit and be willing to do whatever it takes. To those of you who have kicked the habit: Congratulations! To those of you who are trying: Hang in there and the best of luck to you! Eric

Nice pictures and a good cause! Being Type 2 diabetic, I should do more to support Juvenile Diabetes. They do a huge walk here on the beach in Oxnard, and I've helped man water stations, but that's about it. I'm a walker...I should walk and raise money! Eric

Cedar Point vs. Magic Mountain
ebl replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One thing I thought was funny was that the Cedar Point crowd always dissed Superman--The Escape as not being a coaster. Then they added Vertical Velocity, which basically does the same thing, only several times. If one's a coaster, then the other one is, too. SFMM should either get Flashback running or junk it and replace it. Having a SBNO coaster is worthless and shouldn't be included in the count. Eric -
California Screamin' Has Been TRIMMED?!?!?
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Why not a trim after the bunny hops? Such illogic... Eric -
That ride in your fourth picture is Huff-N-Puff, a kid-powered ride where you basically pump the handle to make the car go around a simple track. The ride is still there, too! I've always said that they need one for adults, only ours would climb hills and give riders a workout. Highly recommended after a Solace buffet for members of a certain segment of our society... Nice Retro TR, by the way. Eric

Six Flags Magic Mountain Tatsu Flying Coaster
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
According to The Roller Coaster Database, the other B&M flyers have a track length in the 2700-ish range (feet, that is). I can't see this being much longer than 3500 feet at the most. I also hope to be proven wrong. Eric -
I sure wish I had as much free time on my hands as some of you apparently do... Eric

I also have a Yahoo! account, but I've only had one of Robb's messages go into my Bulk folder as spam. Why, I don't know. But I always check that folder before I blow anything off in it. Eric

Retro Photo TR: Busch Gardens Tampa 1970
ebl replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Nice Retro Photo TR. I sure wish I'd taken pictures during my '70s theme park visits. Those would make for interesting reports. Busch Gardens in Ven Nuys (L.A. area) had a monorail similar to that one. It took visitors through the brewery so they could see how beer is made. Believe it or not, this monorail (and the Van Nuys one) were built by Arrow Development. Eric -

It's always sad to hear of the end of a relationship. I got the same thing from my wife just over two years ago. We're still together---barely, but it'll probably end at some point. We've been together over 20 years and it'll be hard to make the adjustment. Unfortunately, our daughter is the one who's gonna take the real hit. My thoughts are with ya. Eric

^^ The Metro sign was up so long that it faded, so the park took it down! Eric -

rumor sfmw's 2006 line up
ebl replied to zongaboy626's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Everyone (including me  ) bashes SLCs, but I have to admit that Kong really isn't that bad. Even though I haven't ridden it, and even though I've heard it's not that great, I'd like to see XLR8 relocated to SFMW. There aren't enough Arrow suspended coasters in the world as it is, so to scrap even a mediocre one would really be a loss. Ditto for Ultra Twister. It'd be great to have that come West. It may be rather low in capacity, but it's unique. Eric -
If you could change a coaster.
ebl replied to Supermilk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Add another good drop and airtime hill to Goliath at SFMM. Give Psyclone a full rehab and put PTC trains or Millennium Flyers on it. As mentioned thousands of times, remove the OTSRs from Revolution and put new trains on it. (I'm aware that the park can't replace the restraints, but if it were possible...) Eric -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
ebl replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Diana and I rode Jaguar! last night at Haunt. We went in because the queue area was rethemed to a maze, and it happened to have a ride at the end! Eric -
