  1. Happenstance. I used that word one time and had Diana rolling on the floor. Not sure why that was so funny, though... Eric
  2. ^ Wants to ride Matterhorn. < First rode Matterhorn in the '60s. V Wants to play basketball in Matterhorn's court!
  3. Anyone who wants to ride Psyclone badly will get their wish, because "badly" is the only way you can ride it! Eric
  4. My first-ever experience with Flashback at SFMM was a double ride. There weren't any people waiting, so the guy said we could ride again. Nobody waiting for Flashback...that should have told me something... Eric
  5. ^^ Maybe "WOW factor" is a better term. I guess I'm just more easily pleased than a lot of people. With few exceptions, I usually like a ride, old or new. And I agree with you, Robb, about Montezooma's Revenge. Even though its launch pales to something like Xcelerator, it's still a great ride 27 years after I first rode it. Eric
  6. What's annoying me is this whole "forceless" thing. Who wants to ride a coaster that causes you to black out or put extreme forces on your body? Some forces, sure, otherwise it would be pretty boring. But who needs to be subjected to such intense forces that make you uncomfortable? I enjoy Silver Bullet at Knott's. It doesn't have the intense positive G forces that some rides have, and it actually has some airtime! I'd probably enjoy Hydra just fine. Eric
  7. Why shoot the messenger? You could just push him down a flight of stairs... Eric
  8. I should post some pictures that my wife took from her West Hills office (same company Gregg works for). That fire was awfully close. In fact, LAFD was using the parking lot as a staging area for helicopters and other firefighting equipment. Eric
  9. ^ Likes my name and plays RCT. < Likes my name and has never played RCT. V Likes his/her name and plays RCT on a laptop in the tub!
  10. ^ From Indiana. < From California. V From a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away!
  11. Heigh ho, heigh ho, it's home from work I go... Eric
  12. This is going to be one nasty fire season. We had so much rain earlier in the year, so an awful lot of vegetation was able to grow---and now dry out. Eric
  13. ^ Knew a guy named Tyler. < Knew a guy named Mr. Tyler. V Broke his kitchen counter and needs a tiler!
  14. ^ Yes, women like a guy with a good sense of humor. I've had a few women tell me that I'm funny. Of course, right now I'm married, so I'm not trying to meet anyone. But if my situation should change... Eric
  15. I took about a five-mile walk earlier. From Camarillo, you can see the smoke and the glow of the fire. It's going to be interesting to see where this fire goes. Hopefully, out, but not if the winds keep up. Eric
  16. You're getting a new street! You can't beat that. Keep those random TRs coming, Soren...they're great! Eric
  17. ^ He had to call 411 90 times to get his information! Eric
  18. ^ Steak lover. < Chicken and fish lover. V Roadkill lover!
  19. I need changing. Eric
  20. ^ Agreed. Ninja at SFMM is the only suspended I've ridden, but it's one of my very favorite rides at the park for the reasons you mentioned. Arrow's original suspended design did include a corkscrew inversion, but they wisely cut it when they realized what could happen should the train stall in the inversion. The problem with suspended coasters is that they really need to be terrain style coasters (like Big Bad Wolf at BGW and SFMM's Ninja), and not many parks have such terrain to work with. Eric
  21. My wife just got one of these. Diana has a regular iPod. I have neither, as I have no need for a constant flow of music. Eric
  22. I post so much because this is such a creative outlet. I've met a lot of great people here and over at Westcoaster. Eric
  23. SFGAd is lucky to have enough room to put in all of these rides. SFMM is landlocked and couldn't even consider anything like this. I do like how both of SFGAd's woodies intertwine with each other. What concerns me is the fact that this is a large woodie, which, as we've seen with Son of Beast, Rattler, Hercules, etc. doesn't always work out. But being an Intamin plug-n-play, I hope things work out better. And I hope Six Flags takes care of this one. Eric
  24. Even if the track length is 3500 feet, it'd be the longest flyer. I hope it's closer to 4000 or 4500. SFMM could use a really long coaster. Eric
  25. Not something I'd want to see... Eric How to tell when your day isn't going as well as you'd like...
