  1. Turns out that Ernee can't make it, but Diana's friend Holly might fill in. But Diana and I will definitely be there---see y'all tomorrow! Eric
  2. ^ They're getting in practice to take over for AstroWorld as Six Flags Dumping Ground! Eric
  3. Belle asked: "Also, Eric, were you at Supercuts yesterday afternoon?! While Gregg was in EB Games the kids and I were in the car and I think I saw you standing outside on the phone." Yeah, that was me, and I was talking to Diana. I made a last-minute stop at Supercuts because I couldn't stand my hair anymore (last haircut was in June!). I didn't even know there was an EB Games in Camarillo. Oh, and did you get your Sugar-free Milanos? They have 'em in mint, too. As for random, well, I hope my socks don't catch on fire because I don't want holes in my legs. So there. Eric
  4. The name Blaze would fit a ride tied into Rapids Camp Crossing, not Samurai Summit. I really hope the ride is a part of RCC, as it is the only area of the park without a coaster tied to it. Eric
  5. Costco! 'Nuff said. Eric
  6. Call me dumb, but what exactly is YTMND? Eric "out of the loop" L.
  7. ^ Ireland hater. < Mushroom hater. V Couch potater!
  8. They closed the Elephant Bar in Ventura (the closest one to us). I thought the whole chain closed, but it's nice to see yours still open. Eric
  9. ^ Very true, but you can't enjoy it with your head banging the OTSRs the whole ride. Eric
  10. Three years ago, I was called to serve in the U.S. District Court. For me, that was a 50-mile trip into downtown L.A. However, unlike regular local jury duty, they pay you mileage $.37/mile both ways plus $40 a day. I took Metrolink into L.A. ($13 round trip) and actually made a bit of money---not to mention saving some wear and tear on my car and me! I didn't get onto a case, though I did get called onto one panel. Lunch was a nice two-and-a-half hours, which allowed me to have a leisurely bite to eat and do a little exploring in the Civic Center area. By 2:30, they said that there were no more panels scheduled for the day, so we were dismissed and I headed for Union Station to catch the train home. Eric
  11. ^ Target, where I get a lot of my goodies! Eric
  12. Funny thing...I actually kinda like jury duty. For one, it's a day off of work. Unless, of course, you enjoy your job. But getting to serve on a jury is quite interesting. Even in a minor civil case you get to see how the system works (or doesn't, depending on your point of view). I've served on two cases (both minor) and learned a lot. Eric
  13. How did you get so close to the plane? Was that taken in Burbank? That's the only airport I can think of in California where you still walk out to the Tarmac and up the stairs to board your plane. Nice report. My wife doesn't travel much anymore, but I heard some rather interesting tales from those trips. Eric
  14. ^ Been to Ireland. < Is a quarter Irish. V Is a quarter crazy!
  15. ^ Do you think the Cowboys will ever play the Indians? Eric
  16. Sugar-free Milanos. Eric
  17. ^ Actually, he was referring to the name of the long-gone bumper boats that SFMM had until about 1980. Eric
  18. Credit-whoring would be riding one of those stupid dragon rides at a fair---and counting it as a coaster! Eric
  19. So the new ride is red, yellow, and orange, huh? My first thought is that this ride has the colors of...Trix cereal. Trix are for kids! Eric
  20. ^ Yeah, trying to book flights on Expedia, Orbitz, etc. is almost like a video game. You find a good fare and have to track it down before it goes away. Maybe that's why I don't travel very much. Eric
  21. 8/10 --- Not sure what it means, but it's random and funny at the same time. Eric
  22. Oh, and one more thing...Eric took Diana and Holly for ice cream at 31 Flavors, even though Eric is diabetic and it's $1 Scoop Night. Alex? Well, he's probably still waiting for that bus... Eric
  23. The Los Angeles Times is running the strips. When I saw that last weekend, my first thought was that Watterson had resumed the strip, then noticed old dates on them. Nice to see it back, even though it's temporary. We have a few of the Calvin and Hobbes books, but we'll get the new ones, too. Eric
  24. Eric is on Theme Park Review in the spare bedroom/office. Diana is working on homework with her friend Holly in the back bedroom. Alex is waiting for a bus in Amarillo, TX. Wait---who's Alex?!?! :o Eric
  25. Did you two take a ride on the curved escalators in the Forum Shops? Those look...interesting... Looks like you had a nice time. The last time I was in Las Vegas was August 2004. We stayed at Bally's, not far from Paris. Eric
