Don't know about the eye, but they call me a Cyclops. How did they decide where to build Chicago? -

Instant messenger or toothpaste, no, neither one. Do you eat nuts on a regular basis?

Hopefully with the reintroduction of new diesel cars in the U.S., biodiesel fuel will become popular. Think of how much oil is thrown away by restaurants. Some people are already using that oil after running it through a filtration system. I don't know the cost/difficulty of setting up such a thing, but it's a good way to stretch our oil supply a bit. If you put a "1" in front of the page number this post is on, you'l have the year that I turned nine. Eric

Because companies keep making cherry flavored stuff. There isn't enough strawberry or watermelon or kiwi or cantaloupe flavored stuff, so people just stick to cherry. It makes life easier not having so many flavors to choose from. So there ya have it. Why ice "cream" and not ice "cheese?" -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
ebl replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me, it was Viper at SFMM this past Sunday. Honestly, it was a fun ride. I can't say what they've done to it, but my last few rides have been decent. Maybe it's that new red paint job... Eric -
Just a note for anyone who doesn't know...the Peace dollar was the last of the silver dollars (1935 was their last year). In 1971, we got the Eisenhower dollar, which was made of the same copper-nickel alloy as the dimes, quarters, and half dollars. [/history lesson] Eric

"I'm so glad we didn't get a Dark Knight coaster." (PURE) A Los Angeles Times article (I think in their online blog) mentioned that SFMM was offered the Dark Knight coaster that was supposed to go into SFNE, but SFMM turned it down. As I've said, a "family coaster" can really be anything; it's just assumed that it would be something like The Dark Knight or a Tony Hawk ride. It could also be a good, medium sized woodie. Eric EDIT: No, it wasn't the L.A. Times blog, it was on Screamscape. If you go there, look for it sometime in the last few days.

If we didn't fell like we were falling, then we wouldn't know we were. See, if you know you're falling, then you have time for your life to flash before your eyes before impact. How did they come up with the concoction of flour, eggs, butter, etc., then baking it and eating it after it cooled off? -

^^ If it has a 1922 date, then it's a Peace dollar. Eric

Of course, with diesel fuel selling for more than premium, who wants a diesel right now? Even though prices have dipped a bit, diesel is still up over $5 a gallon in some places. At least here in CA... Eric

Over the weekend, I logged almost 400 miles on my CR-V, and got---believe it or not---an average of 31.8 miles per gallon! See, you drive 60 vs. 65, and it can make all the difference. Eric

No; I can't seem to ride one without crashing. Do you eat at McDonald's?

Strange for a middle-aged guy, but I really do like it. Of course I don't drink alcohol or any type of coffee drinks, so... Do you save ticket stubs from parks you've visited?

I've been collecting coins since they were invented. Right now, I'm focusing on the U.S. State Quarter proof sets, and just received the 2008 one. So now, I have all 50 state quarters in proof form. I'm also collecting one of each state (circulated condition) from the Denver Mint and the Philadelphia mint. Ones from Philadelphia are hard to find here in CA, but I imagine ones from Denver are hard on the East Coast. I'm also collecting the Presidential Dollars, also in proof. Eric

I took a run out to SFMM late this afternoon and rode: Tatsu, Ninja, Riddler's, Batman, Scream, Goliath, and Viper. All were running well, Tatsu was using two trains and both stations. Two trains on everything else, too. Revolution had some issues and they took it down to one-train operation later on (with only the red, white, and blue train running). The park wasn't that crowded. The midways were very clean. No problems with ops, but I did run into a snag at Katy's Kettle... I don't understand the whole foreign exchange student deal (or whatever), but I had some problems communicating my order to some kid from the Middle East. I asked to see the supervisor because he just couldn't understand "bacon cheeseburger" for some reason. And he tried to give me regular Coke because Diet was out. I just said never mind to the drink, but decided to go back and get one because it was hot. Since Diet Coke was out, I did see that they had Coke Zero, which I can drink, so I asked for a large one. The supervisor gave it to me on the house because of the confusion. (They were in the process of changing the syrup tank for Diet Coke at the time, and the guy didn't know it.) I didn't expect that, and I thought it was a nice gesture. Eric

Photo TR: Enchanted Forest, Oaks Park and Thrill-ville USA
ebl replied to 65skylark's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Very nice Photo TR of a park that I've been wanting to visit, but...as always...never seemed to find the time. I rode The Ripper back in 1989 when it was still at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. And I've always wanted to ride the Ice Mountain Bobsled because it looked like a fun little coaster. But I had no idea that the park had a log flume like that. It looks like a great little place. Hopefully most of the rides---especially the unique ones---will find a new home. Eric -
"Wouldn't it be a waste to use it on Riddlers, since there is a Single Rider Queue, or have they taken that away in the year or so since I last visited?" (Gav) Actually, you're right. Since the single rider line and FlashPass use the same entrance there, I do ask if they're doing single rider (because they don't always, which I find interesting). If they are, I'll do that instead of using a Flash Pass because I don't care where I ride on Riddler's. There've been a couple of times where there was an empty seat in the front row. In fact, I went single rider today on it. Eric
