  1. Diana's at SFMM today with her friend Matt. I'm looking forward to a trip report from her. Eric
  2. Not the worst rides built, but not the best. So I guess I'm not really a "fan." Have you already had your birthday this year?
  3. ^ Been there, did that. But thanks for the info. I'll keep in mind that in the preview they're backwards, but in the end they're fine. Eric
  4. This isn't a resizing issue, but do you in fact have to upload your pictures in reverse order? Recently in the Railfan topic, I posted two pictures of a train passing behind my house. The first one was supposed to be the train approaching; the second one was the train leaving. I spent about forever trying to get the pictures to appear in the right order---and that was only two pictures. Being that I don't post Photo TRs, I haven't mastered it yet. Are there tricks or tips? Eric
  5. Now that I see Beemerboy's name on the poll, I've made up my mind as to how my vote will go. I'm voting the Monorail Platform 2008. You know that's on the right track. Eric
  6. "Behemoth MHR" sounds like some gigantic new 2009-model SUV. If you want abbreviations and acronyms, go read Navy technical documents. You'll start throwing things reeeal quick like. Eric
  7. That pizza looked...yummy! I'd do a Photo report of me making my chicken pesto pizza, but it would never be as good as this. Eric
  8. When you take off from the Orlando airport, you can look left and see the Atlantic Ocean, and look right and see the Gulf of Mexico. I don't think this is a bad idea, but putting it in a more scenic area would have been better. Eric
  9. Some time back, I took a survey to see who I should vote for, and---much to my surprise---I had the most in common with Obama. Interesting because while I'm registered as "Non-Partisan" or "Decline to State," I tend to vote conservative. (Middle-of-the-road with a lean to the right is how I describe my political views.) Like some have said, I really don't care for either candidate. I admire McCain for his military service and POW experience. But does he really know how to lead this country? I really couldn't tell you. I like Obama's youth (he'd be the first president in my lifetime who's younger than I am), don't have a problem with his race, but do have a problem with his platform of CHANGE!!! Change...what? He hasn't been too clear on that. So, come November, we'll just see. Eric
  10. How about a bumper car shaped like a slice of pizza? That, I'd like to see. Eric
  11. Whatever kinds of meat that they can find laying around the plant. No one's really sure, actually. How did they arrive at the American railroad track gauge of 56-1/2" between the rails?
  12. It really only makes sense. Glad to see it finally making its way to SFMM. Eric
  13. The seating arrangement on these new B&M trains is similar to that of the trains on the Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang (aka Deja Vu here in the U.S.). Are the stations set up with 16 rows, or eight? Eric
  14. Kings Island is a park that I've always wanted to visit, despite not having the world's greatest collection of coasters. But, I don't think that a coaster should have to be ridden a "certain way" to be enjoyed. Too often, I hear that "you have to ride in a certain seat" or "if you know where to hang on or brace yourself, it isn't bad." And so on. But I'm going off the track. I have yet to ride a B&M hypercoaster, and since apparently none are coming to California any time soon, I'll just have to go to where they are. But that's not a bad thing... Eric
  15. "It's time to learn how to use THEY'RE/THEIR/THERE!!!" (BeemerBoy) Thank you! And many others, too, like... its/it's to/too/two could/should/would have instead of could/should/would of Anyway, (and note that there is no "s" in "anyway") I'm going to explore the site http://www.better-english.com that you linked, Scott. Eric
  16. I have to admit that all of you in Georgia are fortunate that your Schwarzkopf looper still runs with only a lap bar. Here in California...well, it's different... Eric
  17. Regular is down to under $4.30/gallon around here. It's a nice trend. Just for fun, I went back to the beginning of this thread and had a good laugh out of everyone complaining about gas being $2.00-2.50/gallon. Eric
  18. People whose screen name is in ALL CAPS. Eric
  19. "...what does mindbending have to do with NASCAR?" (Disney Dood) NASCAR bends the mind... Eric
  20. Rubber duckies. Sauce factory. What next? The monkey house? But I'm getting a kick out of the random titles for that forum. Eric
  21. "...as visible on that station as the interlocking corkscrews...whoops. I said I wouldn't say which ride." (Bolliger&Mabillard) I don't see any problem with the crew at Colossus with using their phones. Eric
  22. Someone asked me what my coaster count is. I just froze. Then it came to me...I have no idea how many coasters I've ridden. But, being the enthusiast that I am, I couldn't let on that the mysterious number was nowhere to be found in my mind. So I stalled. Hemmed. Hawed. And then it came to me. Just make up a number. He wouldn't know the difference anyway, and there was no way he could possibly know that what I said was not exactly the truth. So I said, "About 80." The guy was mortified. "Only 80?" he said. "Why, I thought someone like you would have ridden hundreds by now." Sorry, but it wasn't meant to be. In the years I have left, I expect to maybe double my count and little more. Even if it means leaving the country. Eric
  23. No, I got rid of it---it was keeping me up at night... Have you ever petted a monkey?
  24. ^ Dog fan. < Cat fan. V Ceiling fan!
  25. They get down on their knees and grovel in front of a mirror. Sometimes tears work in their favor. If you were asleep on a train when it went into a long tunnel, how would you find out whether it was daytime or nighttime?
