  1. just so you're aware, if you haven't been. . the Airport isn't really close to either. . it's at least a 45-1 hour drive (if light traffic) to SFOG from the airport. . (tho it's only ~20-30 minutes to Fun Spot as you're not going thru Metro Atlanta to get there). tho if you take the Marta to Peachtree Plaza (a $2.50 ride), you can grab an uber from there for only ~$20 (I leave from that area during Dragon*con to go to SFOG every year). . LOL
  2. Fantastic pics (as always), Andy. my favorite thing about your pics - besides what a great photographer you are - is when some on the train notice you aiming the camera and are looking directly at you in the pics. LOL. .and I was wondering about how some of "dem bOObs" stayed in shirts, as forceful as some parts of Velocicoaster looks. HAHAHA. . you answered my unasked question
  3. I rode wave breaker 2 days ago. TO ME - the animation/proposed layout is the same/similar as wave breaker. And I expect this ride experience to be very similar. sorry you don't agree, but not sure why the heck you feel the need to argue over this and "prove" me wrong. especially on something that might not even be happening, as it's not been formally announced. chill dude, and have a Happy New Year.
  4. look again. . that's the WaveBreaker layout. . the only difference is inside vs outside, and that the 2nd launch hill won't be as tall (because it's inside). otherwise, it's a very similar (if not *exactly* the same) layout.
  5. it looks exactly like the layout for WaveBreaker at SWSA.. which means it will be a fun little family coaster (with emphasis on family, not thrill). Keeping indoors, mean the launched hill into the major turn won't be near as tall tho. . . which is fine as I think this coasters "trick" will greatly improve on what is really a "non-thrill" coaster at SWSA. Tho again, note, it's fun, and the design over the water is great. so if they keep this dimly lit, and populate with some "glow" elements (think Rock N Roller Coaster type setpieces?). . . could be really fun. tho I'm still glad I got to ride DarkKastle back when it was operating in 2016.
  6. is that this one? if yes, my friends and I always catch it.. tho didn't see it on Labor Day this year (think they hadn't brought back the live entertainment yet)
  7. sorry to hear. . my condolences.
  8. so. . . Six Flags Mexico was in the news today. . for . . um. . not a good reason: https://www.americanpost.news/six-flags-mexico-accused-of-discrimination-against-gay-couple-for-kissing/ although after (from what I've seen on my "LGBTQ+" sites), a rather rowdy protest today at the gates - including a fairly large same sex "kiss in" . . . late the afternoon, the company announced a reversal / removal of the "PDA" policy. --> although DO note, the original policy that was used to discriminate on Wednesday? *never once* singles out LGBTQ+ couples. . . that was a Park decision, and a disgusting one at that. And the Park President DEFENDED the handling of the situation last night, prior to the backlash today. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/nation/story/2021-12-30/six-flags-in-mexico-city-drops-affectionate-behavior-ban
  9. Love Peter Pan. . and always ride it and wait in line for it. rode it multiple times at TDL too but then again, I love carousels too . . so not really surprising I love the "gentle" ride of Peter Pan
  10. actually right there with you on this. I think it would be incredible if it happens? but I don't think it will. here in Austin, our entertainment district is downtown in the 6th street area. (it's a pretty well known area, famous for the live music and shows). and yet. . in the 90's-2000's people moved into the lofts above the bars. and then started complaining about the noise from the bars & live music venues. and the city started lowering Noise ordinances, and hours the venues could operate. best example? one of my favorite live music Venues - with a large outdoor stage. . used to be across the street from a Milk Processing Factory. About 10 years ago, they shut down the Factory, tore it down and built condos - that now overlook the outdoor stage. And any live music on the outdoor stage now has to be finished by 10pm Sun-Thurs, and 11pm on Fri/Sat. it really sucks, as we used to have shows that extended well into the night. . but the new neighbors protested, and the City put in place noise restrictions. so yeah. . have a feeling something similar is likely gonna happen here. but I do hope it gets built
  11. Alex. . did you look into flying into Pittsburgh? that's what WE did on our Penn. trip years ago, and it was way (WAY) cheaper than flying into Philly. added bonus, is we got to spend a day at Kennywood before driving to Knoebels & HersheyPark
  12. I bring a freezer bag in my pocket or tupperwear in the car when I go to SFFT.. almost ALWAYS take my "snack" or a portion of it home. the food there is generally pretty good, and I paid for the Dining Plan. . I'm gonna use it. (and since, as far as SF is concerned, my Platinum Season Pass is a Platinum Membership? I believe my dining plan transfers to other parks too. . so gonna do that when I visit other SF parks in 2022 as well)
  13. worth going back for those two. . Xcellerator is great, and I loved how much spin one gets on Sierra Sidewinder.
  14. $40 seems really high for those rides. . . that's crazy. but at least looks like you had some fun.
  15. so my hubby got me/us for Holiday/Anniversary (coming up on 1/23) tix to the touring show "Hadestown" I'll be super disappointed if it gets cancelled or postponed due to Covid stuff. . . but fingers crossed, as our tix are for 3 weeks from today (1/15)
  16. looks much longer than I was expecting it to be. . .so that's nice to see. so it starts outside the park, along the freeway, then comes in over the Miniature golf, jumps the arcade building and continues on. looks really pretty good. . .
  17. still a bucket-list park for me in the USA. some day. . but damn, that video is amazing, and you can really feel the speed there!
  18. lots of plans. . but don't wanna jinx any of em! so will just list for sure: SFFT, SFOT, SeaWorld SA (since all are close driving distance and I have passes to all for 2022), SFOG/FunSpot (since I'm in ATL for Dragon*con anyways) & probably Dollywood/SDC trip with a friend in late Summer.
  19. ^ Zach cracks me up in this pic every time I see it. . such fond memories!
  20. we rode and the queue clearly notes it's a "moist" ride. but those who invested in the "in queue" ponchos? got significantly less wet (from FREEZING cold water) than others
  21. the Air Race was FREAKING FANTASTIC too. . . and I loved the Lucky Cat rapids (do make sure you purchase the poncho from the machine in line. . it WILL soak you)
  22. there's a big, open, spot where the Wild Mouse coaster was.
  23. there were whispers about this park maybe going year round. . . but who knows what the state of that is with the giant Corporate restructuring. that said, it USUALLY opens in early March. . and I believe this year, it opened up March 6th?
  24. "The ride ops apologized and said due to new corporate cost savings at the end of the year, they've turned that down/off" ok. .that makes no sense.. the cost savings from that would be minuscule, and if they were trying to save, the ride would have just been down. but in a strange coincidence, none of the fire effects on Daredevil Dive at SFFT were working yesterday. So I wonder. . I might just ask if that is the reason they weren't on.
