  1. Still rather be hanging out here than riding most Vekoma SLCs! BWAAA-HAAA-HAAAA glad you're keeping sense of humor, Robb. hoping Florida just get's a "swipe" and not a lot of major damage, and that you and Elissa (and Kidtums) stay safe!
  2. and a look back at the venue. . yeah, was crowded
  3. Cruxshadows (at Dragon*con), Sunday night / Monday morning: 1:30-3am Finale song, "Marilyn My Bitterness". .the band invites as many as can make it up onto the stage with them. signature move of theirs.
  4. nice pics! I wanna go swimming now.
  5. me, drunk off my butt, in the Digi-suite at Dragon*con this past Friday. . showing off the "Banana purse" that my friend artist/author Larry Dixon made for me. and yes, it is autographed. . .LOL (there's a story there, I'll tell sometime).
  6. love that you got to ride these hard to get coasters! and I would have ridden the crap out of those flats too.. several of my favorites there. . .yeah, I love the "traveling carnival" type flats!
  7. if you have tickets for Hershey on Sat. . you should be able to get in on Friday night for a few hours. so take advantage of that. http://www.hersheypark.com/tickets/admission-tickets.php (look at the "Preview Plan" section at the bottom right): Preview Plan A sweet sneak peek is included! Present your ticket at the main entrance 2.5 hours before closing the night before your visit and enjoy a fun-filled evening! All daily tickets qualify for this plan.** 8 PM closing Admission after 5:30 PM 10 PM & 11 PM closing Admission after 7:30 PM **Not valid on Sunset, Consecutive-day, or Hersheypark Event Special Admission. I'd also skip Dorney. . . stay at Hershey until close on Sat night, Sunday Morning, head to Knoebel's and stay there all day. (admission and parking is free. . pay per ride). . . better choice than Dorney, even if you get in free. if anything, Hit Dorney for a few hours on Monday before you head out. you can likely hit all the major rides in just about 3-4 hours.
  8. ??? Railblazer themeing is way better with SR1. Railblazer has a better color scheme. Railblazer is not another recycled DC comics character named ride. you're gonna argue that Wonder Woman Golden Lasso isn't PERFECT match between naming, themeing, and color scheme for a DC character on a single rail coaster?
  9. I'm not THAT much of a drinker, but hell yes, I'd be trying "one of everything" from every booth. so I expect our cost the one time we went to a similar festival was close, if not as much as yours.
  10. still in a lot of pain. the cortisone shots helped in that it's not Constant pain, but if I move *just* the wrong way?. . almost passing out shooting pain (happened just earlier today when the dog, excited to see me after my trip, jumped up into my arms). but yeah. . . not "better". .but tolerable. go back to the Orthopedic in November to decide next steps. thanks for checking in
  11. so cool that TPR got a Million subscribers. y'all really are the BEST coaster/theme park site existing, and if one just keeps a sense of humor about it? . . . .there is no other better than TPR. (and I still will occasionally shout out to my Husband: "Mah titties are jigglin'!!!" and he'll have NO idea what I'm talking about and just look at me confused) just awesome
  12. Even without EPCOT on his list? World Showcase has my favorite DisneyWorld restaurant (Marrakesh), that amazing French place, and the Canadian Steakhouse. the food in the Mexico pyramid isn't bad either, tho not the best I've ever had.
  13. thanks for the report of opening night. This always looks like a great time, and is on my "one day" list. . . likely when we get back to WDW in the next few years. question: do they leave the decorations out during the day? I'd assume yes, and that they just double for "fall" decorations. But just wondering. hehe.. and is this cast member cosplaying as Robb?? I be seeing double! must be that smile!
  14. I don't really have a "home" park.. at least not one I've been to regularly (ie: multiple times per year). but at pretty much any park, I will not ride: Top Spin -- nope, not my thing, and I know it will make me sick. Disc-o -- never been on one, and have no desire to get on one. Even when in Cedar Point for the 1st time, and seeing they were counting it as a "coaster" was not enough to get me to set foot on it. Himalaya/Super-himalaya -- been on them, and occasionally ride them, but just not a "fun" ride to me. I prefer to ride the similar circular Matterhorn/Music Express type rides. Bumper Cars -- again, been on them, and occasionally ride them. Just not a really "fun" ride for me. I think those are pretty much it. Anything else, I'll typically at least try
  15. love the report, and the VR Goggles on the lead car / head of the worm is BRILLIANT! absolutely adorable. funny too, how I was thinking. . hmmm. . the VR isn't in sync, and then you said that, and THEN. . it kind of synced up and works. great idea for a smaller park.
  16. Cedar Point seems to be in the habit of building giant record breaking coasters, which has been bringing in the crowd. It would be more difficult to market a small scale coaster or GCI after years of bigger and 'better' coasters. In my opinion, the park has plenty to do for children and families, even if in not necessarily in equal proportion to their major thrill rides. Let CP bring in the giants, while still catering sufficiently, but not exceedingly, to children and families. Let parks like KI pick up the slack. I kind of loved how the two children's coasters are right across the walkway to each other (and close to Mine Train and Gemini. . which are coasters "older children" can ride)
  17. ^ I guess that explains the rounded corners. .it's in a frame, it' just hard to see the design in the advertisement. now that you said that, and I'm looking closely at it. . . it does appear to have a slightly different format, with "peek a boo" windows with text (that I guess name the character). as much as I'd love a Chernabog pin, I just can't see paying that much more just for the framed set. so if I manage to get any of em, I'd likely go for the 5 pin set and then just go to Michael's and get a windowbox to display on my own (similar to how I did the Haunted Mansion "villian" pins from last year. thanks! bert
  18. Not sure if this is the right place to ask. . but I'm confused on some of the Merchandise being offered along with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party. in particular this: so the "tiered box set" with Jafar Completer pin, is $109. that's really not unreasonable, as it gets you the 4 standard pins (that sell for $16 each, + the Jafar exclusive. . .so basically you're paying ~$40 for the Jafar pin). where I get confused is by the also offered: "Frame Set" with Chernobog completer pin. that one has the 4 standard, + the Jafar, + the additional Chernobog? for $270. so that confuses me. . . this set still contains the Jafar pin, but you're paying ~$170 more for one pin? surely that can't be the only difference? what am I missing between the "tiered box set" and the "Frame Set" ? is the only difference that 1 pin?
  19. Great report. and I love, love, love Cedar Downs. So glad you got to ride it and liked it!
  20. as I mentioned in other threads, San Antonio often floods. so yeah, they are gonna get flooded this weekend. but no sustained heavy rain yet. . it's supposed to hit overnight and start pouring for a few days straight.
  21. mainly from the Six Flags Texas parks, Cedar Point, BGW, BGT, and the Pennsylvania trip we took. but only 27 for me.
  22. it's going to come ashore at Category 3, between Corpus and Galveston. (as of 20 minutes ago, it's literally 1mph below category 3, which is why they are still saying category 2). yeah, Galveston is going to get a lot of flooding from storm surge, but not as bad as if the storm came ashore above it, instead of the projected path (below Galveston & above Corpus). so yeah, Corpus Christi is gonna take the brunt of the Hurricane damage, but Galveston, Houston, and San Antonio will get heavy flooding, and likely power loss. . .but at least that's not major structural damage (most times). bert - "grew up in Houston and lived in Texas for over 45 years, so not too concerned about Gulf Hurricanes unless they are Category 4 or higher and headed straight for Galveston)
  23. Thanks. . but Dallas/FW and Austin are really only going to get a lot of rain. Galveston & Corpus will get hit hard, and Houston will absolutely be under-water. Fiesta Tx likely is gonna need your prayers tho - San Antonio is pretty low lying, and floods pretty often.
  24. HH expansion has been my prediction all along, I wonder if I'm right. I doubt it tho. . HH is across the freeway. the image is from the parking lot, overlooking the lake between parking and JRS. and the "hidden" section, appears to me, to be the "western street" area where they do the "shootout" show. hmmm. . .
  25. and we REALLY liked this "no frills" seafood place, "Shells" that was really close to BGT (almost literally across the street). fantastic 70's style food in a cheesy decor restaurant. we loved it. https://www.google.com/search?q=seafood+restaurants+near+busch+gardens+tampa&oq=seafood+place+near+Busch+ga&gs_l=psy-ab.3.0.0i22i30k1l4.6457.7947.0.9160.7.7.0.0.0.0.175.959.0j6.6.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..1.6.954.cciVmghr26Q
