that latest update looks absolutely incredible. glad you had such a great time, and such good food. (oh how i wish I lived close to Disney World. . .I'd probably be at Epcot every night for dinner, and blow the budget at Food & Wine offerings (not to mention the MK special parties too)). thanks for allowing me to live vicariously thru y'all so much! -

Pics from last night's amazing Pankow show. but holy crap embarrassed by Austin's Industral/darkwave scene. Only $12 for a chance to see the Rarely-in-america German/Italian Pioneers. . . . and so many online said they were coming out (some even claiming to drive up from Houston). and, including Wendy and I, I think there were maybe 12 folks there (not counting the opening band and their group (which was Lustron, who were good, tho way too loud for me, but with earplugs drowning out the highpitched feedback, I liked them a lot and will pick up the eventual CD when they release one). anyways, Kudos to the club, Elysium for getting them to come in, and huge Kudos to the band who put on an energetic and GREAT set (mix of classic songs with more recent, and even a new song, that had heavy early Nitzer Ebb sound), and commented that he was so happy to see those of us there dancing along to every song. It really was like a private concert, that they gave their all, regardless of the tiny "Crowd" they are both super cool, and hung out at the bar and talked to us for a while after the set. but shame on Austin! and the set closer dedicated to the 'four ladies" that were in the audience [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] and to get a good taste of them, if you aren't familiar, here's their (arguably) biggest Industrial/dance hit: "Art and Madness" [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] hanging out with them at the bar after the show. Wendy and I chatted with them for almost 40 minutes, they were so cool.

^ while I love seeing your pictures. . this seems a little. . . um. . . . off-putting. raging against a whole Country because you can't ride a roller-coaster? I'll give benefit of the doubt that you didn't intend to use racial slur, but yeah, to me you're not coming across well here, Darren. good pictures tho.

it's been confirmed, he's passed. (what they were arguing about, was that he was still breathing, but brain dead. . reports are now that he's stopped breathing, confirmed by his manager )

Robb & Elissa's Oktoberfest 2017 Trip!
bert425 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
while I miss the classic Robb "Loop-de-loop!".... since yer on Olympia Looping, "LOOPING!!" works great. and the idiot grin I hear when Robb goes "wheeeeeee". . . that you can still get so much joy from riding coasters after all this time? THAT is why I love TPR, and watching only your vids. looks like y'all had a blast. -
I don't think I ever answered in this string. I'm a Senior Planner -- ie: I schedule the Mfg Floor/Test Floor (s) for a company that does CPU/GPU. My specific function is on the team that does New Products, with a focus on Gaming chips. I work with Singapore, Suzhou, Dresden, and Markham (Canada) -- so yeah, I'm on conference calls all day all night (whee).

just watched the video (from the twitter feed on front page of TPR) of the Drifting Swing coaster. W.T.F. ???? and I would totally ride it, and laugh the whole way thru! that looks like fun and confusing all at the same time. I'd just make sure not to ride it after eating anything. . . but wow, does that look fun. -

Amazing start, and will live vicariously thru y'all on this trip! Olympia Looping looks amazing, and is one I've always wanted to ride, but until i ever take a trip overseas, living via y'all is the closest I'll get. And when you mentioned you're doing Europa Park on this trip too? I'll be paying close attention to your feeds! have a great time y'all. .. fun, love, and beer! -
^ he did that on the Texas shows too. LOL, did NOT go over well at the show in Houston, from what I was told

From last night's Severed Heads show: with my proper Bourbon and Coke (not in a plastic cup, as we had been served in a prior club that evening)
-
Fantastic show last night from Australian Techno-industrial pioneers, Severed Heads. not a huge crowd (they came up to Austin for a show before the bigger show today in Houston (that also features Front 242, Leathearstrip, and themselves), but meant that there was plenty of room for dancing and moving around. this is a rare look, into how they chose what song to do for encore. yep, rock, paper, scissors!

if you go to the Intamin page, and look up Mega-Lite, the example looks like Cheetah Hunt track. . think that's where the poster is getting the comparison from. https://www.intaminworldwide.com/project/mega-lite/ tho I don't think they are the same at all.. . maybe in appearance of track only? ETA: and I love that the Intamin site uses TPR video for the example of Mega-Lite. . .

d'awwww. . thanks for that Liz No issue with the flight, other than a very full plane. Even tho Houston took a lot of damage from Harvey (and the Austin airport was slammed from Houston folks being sent this way (and to San Antonio) since the Houston airports were closed for a couple of weeks), Austin never had any damage other than slight wind. so plane was on time, and ended up having no issues getting to Atlanta.

when we stayed at Breakers in June, we had a friend of mine drive up to meet us for BarbQue, and he just told them at the front gate he had come in for the restaurant, and they let him thru without charging. i'd imagine it's similar for TGI Fridays, tho wouldn't surprise me if you had to pay the $20 parking, and then just after eating go to front desk at Breakers to get reimbursed (I say this because they had told us that my friend would be charged, and that's what we would need to do, and to just show them restaurant receipt at front desk).
