Is it ever not running well? It's possibly the smoothest ride I've ever ridden and I've never once had a bad ride on it. Neither had I but this year has been pretty bad. The first 2 rows are still wonderful but the rest of the train is pretty bouncy especially if the train isn't full OMG. This is the most insane thing ever calling GK bouncy. not sure why it's insane. having ridden on the back left about 1 month ago? yep, "bouncy" is pretty accurate. tho the front was always smooth. Having ridden it 38 times on a trip just 3 weeks ago, the notion it's bouncy is insane. GK is the smoothest or one of the smoothest coasters around. I go to a ton of parks, 8 this year already. which means absolutely NOTHING. several people report the same "bouncy" experience. you didn't have that experience (and you got to ride it 38 times!!). Whoopie-do. (I rode it 6 times over 3 days, once in fog! so I win!!) others have. so to call someone referring to it as "bouncy" as "insane" ? let's just say your experience does not match what others have experienced, and leave it at that. -

Nelsan Ellis -- who played "Lafayette" on "True Blood" he was a wonderful man, and I enjoyed my interactions with him at Dragon*con. Such a straight man, playing such an over the top Gay character, and he did it with such ease, and no qualms at all. I will miss him. . far too young (39) to be gone. variety.com/2017/tv/news/nelsan-ellis-dies-dead-true-blood-1202490405/

I rode once in the back, and it was very rough. so although I did ride GK multiple times thruout my visit, it was always in the front, and had a smooth, wonderful ride. -

I got off the one ride I took on it, terrified. it really felt like it was trying to kill me, and I do not ride rollercoasters to "hope I don't die".. . did not enjoy it for more than 1 moment (and that moment was going up the lift hill) HATED it. that said, Loved, Loved, LOVED StormRunner, Lightning Racer, SuperDooperLooper, Great Bear, and liked Comet, Trailblazer, and the mouse (didn't ride Fahrenheit, Laff Track wasn't open yet, and i hated Wildcat too). the line up of flats is great at Hershey too, as is the attached zoo. absolutely worth a trip -
Yes, most of which is anecdotal and non sensical but if it's ALWAYS been done a certain way. . . . (I mean, it's not like someone doesn't come knock on our door at least once a month and ask if we're interested in selling our house. . . I mean, if we wanted to sell, we'd put it on the market and have plans to move. . right????). note for some: the above is sarcasm -- we DO get someone knocking on our door at minimum once a month, asking if we are interested in selling.

No, but it's awesome. Gatekeeper has the best drop in the park by far, yeah... I said it. ESPECIALLY in the morning that we rode it in the fog! it was a pretty amazing experience not being able to see the ground at all. -

I'm SO jealous of you, Liz. I've just been working 14 hour days all week. (and yes, they DID call me at 7am on the 4th). I wanna go back! -
I have to be honest, it sounds like you guys have kind of answered your own questions. Being in So Cal your only options are: Disney, Universal, Knotts, SeaWorld, Legoland. So I would at least give each one of those parks a courtesy visit to see if it's worth going back to. Really, though, sounds like you guys are just Disney fans. This morning we decided to go back to Knotts in addition to Sea World. I've heard that Knotts Berry Farm has gone through a big renovation since we were there last (about 12 years ago) adding more rides, cleaning up the place, etc. So we're going to give that a shot. Should be fun. and at the very least (even if you hate the park. .which I don't see how. . we LOVED it last time we were there). . you've got Mrs. Knott's chicken, and that amazing Blueberry pie in the restaurant at the front have fun!

you seem to be staying at Excalibur tho. . . so "terrible" is pretty much what you are gonna get. if you want a really nice experience, go for Aria, or Cosmopolitan. . both of those are very nice. -

Oh DANG. That is a thing of beauty! I hope they have some stock left when I get there in August. My wife's only souvenir request from any amusement parks I visit without her is usually to bring back a Christmas ornament. Haven't found many that look as nice as that, though. they had many in the Breaker's Gift Shop (on the way into the main lobby, over by the wall with the books), and where Bill found his was at the main gift shop on the right as you come in the front gates. they did NOT have them at the Pagoda gift shop (that I saw).. Breakers and the main promenade gift shop were the only two places I saw these ornaments (and Breakers had the more choices. . several coasters, carousel horses, and, I think, the train)
