Wow- much improved, and more accurate to what Anton would build: I'd consider banking the track in that final turn before the helix- or even incorporate the helix into that element. Otherwise, you've got the rest of the ride down right- nice job.

That's a good question; if you look at rise/run of the 'standard' lift hills, you'd be hard pressed for that square to be any less than 15x15 feet really... But that's a guess, of course.

Last update from DSB 2011: WARNING: THE FOLLOWING SECTION CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL OF A FINE GERMAN RIDE. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. After visiting DDD, we moved onto Mindbender, a true work of genius from Herr Achterbahn himself, Anton Schwarzkopf. Now as many people know, I'm a wee-bit of an obsessive Schwarzkopf fan. You know, the kind that arranges travel around His rides, will go out of his way to go and ride a Schwarzkopf coaster, has fantasies of having a backyard filled with Schwarzkopf rides. As another TPR member (Whom I'd not met before!) said to me during ERT: (Paraphrarasing this...) Coastercub89: "It's amazing how good this ride is even if it's one of the oldest coasters in the park" QR: "Yeah, I've been marathoning it since ERT started on it." Coastercub89: "You must really love this ride!' QR: "I'm one of those weird, obsessive-compulsive Schwarzkopf fans." Coastercub89: "Oh! You must be QueerRudie!" So, that having been said... onto the SchwarzPorn pics. "Anton knew how I liked it... nice and firm. Only he had that special touch, that something extra..." Approaching Mindbender's first loop. "He loved to get my attention by firmly holding me in, nice and tight, before raising me up." A look at the turnaround off the lift. "Solid and precise, Anton had lots of experience in doing it right." The Cone-and-Plug columns that became standard on all his coasters. (No I didn't do THAT, so get it out of your minds.) "I knew he'd give me more, and he didn't fail me at all..." TOTAL NERD SHOT: Underside of a test//transfer axle. "Again Anton got ready to give me all He had, popping me firmly up along the way.." Yet another wheel-geek picture. "Again, Anton pulled me down hard- I could feel the force strong and tight..." "Screaming out loud for more, Anton threw me up and back again, knowing I'd be back... again." Computer/Power unit nerd shot. I hope this ride was as good for you as it was for me... 25 times. Following the Backstage tour, Chad, Sam and I wandered throughout the park, logging Thunder Canyon (YES, you WILL get soaked!) DDD (Which resulted in a -very- profane wordset from my mouth!) the Log flume (Amazing!) and Monster Mansion. Following our tour of these rides, Sean and Chad chose a trip on the Georgia Cyclone. I passed, as my liver, spleen, kidneys and pancreas got a beating earlier in the day from it. Cyclone, looking as painful as ever. Next up was BEE-R-T and TPR quest. Sadly, I wasn't able to do the Quest, but thanks to Gregg, I did get a prize! The only shot that I had that turned out from TPR Quest. Onto Night ERT we go, and along the way we passed Ninjouch. Gregg's comment here is the best I've ever heard about ANY coaster on earth: (Paraphrasing again!) "Ninja is a lot like Jessica Alba: Sure she's great to look at, but can't act for crap." Ninjouch. Nuff said. Since Superman: UF was down earlier when I tried to ride it, I went back at the start of ERT. S:UF did not disappoint at all, and gave me some -excellent- positive Gs along it's course. I was -thoroughly- impressed by it, and glad I did get two trips on it before heading for my 'embarassment' credit. S:UF's sign at night. TPR's line as the rest of the GP head out for the night. Along the way, as if I needed any help, I played the TPR Water Challenge on GASM. This was my first water challenge, and I will admit, I've been on other rides where I didn't get as wet as I did on GASM. Water Challenge is about to commence! The train dispatches DRY... And returns WET! Robb ensures total wetness of many levels... Leaving the water challenge, I scored my "embarassment credit" of the trip. Notice there are no pictures of it. Intentionally. Canyon Blaster, however, was a real treat- and a nifty little ride to be had. Smooth and fast, with interesting bits of airtime and great Gs' all over. I wandered, slowly towards DDD for a night ride (Awesome, to say the least!) and finally ending up on Goliath for the end of ERT. I was quite pleased with how Goliath rode, as the earlier day ride was (to be polite) VERY rough (Bad wheel, anyone?) and didn't quite deliver what I wanted from it. However, I DID score a front seat ride, and thus, the last picture of this Photo TR: R.D. in the front seat! So, that's the end, I guess. I'd like to say a -HUGE- Thank you to Robb and Elissa for putting together a day that I will put into my top-five experiences of life to date, and for the wonderful people at SFoG for making it truly memorable and special. Shout-outs go to Gregg and his Son, who rode along with me for a few hours, as well as Chad and Sam for after the Backstage tour- some great times I hope were had by all. To Brandy (Mrs. Meares!) the cake was outstanding- and I can't wait to see y'all again soon, to Jo for being my stalwart roomate over the four days I was there (and the driver!), and to Jake, Bryan, Adam and Allison for some good memories of a certain Bar Mitzvah film. AND NOW... The moment you all have been waiting for... DIRTY, er... DEEP SOUTH BASH! Now this, My friends, is my first TPR event. To say I was -overwhelmed- would be an understatement of epic proportions. SixFlags over Georgia is now my #1 SixFlags park- and knowing they did such an amazing job for us is an epic win all over. I cannot thank the fine staff there for giving us the Red Carpet treatment all over, and I'm looking forward to DSB II/New Hotness next year already. Arriving early to SFOG, I took a few shots of the park and of the people arriving... Goliath in the -very- early morning. Parking? Nope. Less than a 500 foot walk from the Hotel to the park. Coaster Whores? Us? Never! And then, I got to meet the Big Man himself, Big Mike! (Photo credit goes to the Very Sexy Megan!) R.D. Meets the Big Man himself! I wandered a bit (My people wander. Go figure!) and got some great Beemer Porn shots. TWISTY GOODNESS! One of the better 'mixes' of two coasters. I dunno- But I think this might be the most arousing picture of a B&M coaster I've ever seen before. Robb getting the opening morning picture of the crowd. 8:30 AM: Let the stampede begin! While you won't find opening shots of the day ("Can't talk. Too busy ERT'ing.) I can say that I was able to get in quite a few rides prior to the invasion of the GP. First up was some old-school Arrow Goodness with James Dillaman and company, then onto Georgia Scorcher. For me, landing Georgia Scorcher was a real treat. As many of you now know, I'm handicrapped- so it was a question of whether or not I could ride a standup with non-working legs. With some effort, and the help of Coasterbear30, I did get the credit in. After that... well, if you know me by now, I headed to get some 'private time' with a particular double-looping, heartline track designed piece of glory known as Mindbender. I promptly moved onto Mindbender's train... and other than some 'hopping around' seats, I logged in 21 circuits during ERT. Mindbender was operating better than I'd remembered in the past, and had some over-the-top moments: Ejector airtime into both turnarounds/block stations, incredible pozG moments (The 'banked' loop element BLEW MY.... mind!) and silky-smooth riding made Mindbender the 'epic win' of Morning ERT (OK, for me, the epic win of the DAY, but I might be biased.) As morning ERT ended, I logged in my Batman: The Ride credit, in the front seat. It's good to have a nice, forceful Beemer Inverted, considering that many of the later models have been 'forceless' overall. Heading to the front of the park, I stopped at Guest Services for my 'Linebuster 3000' pass: Handicapped/Disabled access pass. (R.D. does NOT do stairs.) From there, I wandered down to gain my first B&M flyer credit: Superman Ultimate Flight. Random first drop shot Random geeky lifthill shot However, all flights at this point were 'delayed' due to a stuck train. Grumble. Back DOWN the path of doom I went, and logged in GASM, Ninjouch, and the HIDDEN Schwarzkopf credit: Wheelie. Wheelie, an Enterprise, is one of the rare spinning flats I willingly go on. AMAZING does not describe the feel of a Schwarzkopf enterprise, and you must ride one to know it. Artsy shot. Sort of. Or a really bad photographer. You decide. LUNCHTIME! SFoG served us some of the best park food I've eaten outside of Disney, and with plenty to go around. Following Lunch, the Park manager spoke to us- and welcomed us to DSB. Hospitality like that is what really made this event over-the-top special, and added a personal touch that speaks volumes for the southern warmth that is legendary. Group photo ensued, and then an -epic- backstage Tour soon followed... Try to get this at SFoG without being in a private party. NERDS! TRAIN SHOT! I love this shot- it looks 'right' in so many ways! Turnaround time! OOOH! This was one of the best angles I've ever seen of this ride- and as you can see, so did everyone else! Now as we progressed in the backroads of SFOG, you quickly realize how big SFOG is- it's HUGE. And HILLY. VERY HILLY. I have to give some major kudos here to the very patient SFoG staff who kept behind me- as I ended up having to slow down a bit going uphill. Eventually I made it to the backside of Superman: UF, where you see these next few shots. TOTAL nerd shot. For those Lift-Hill porn enthusiasts... Hmmmm... When asked about this building in the boneyard, our fantastic reps from SFOG simply said "For a future attraction of size." Hmmmm... 2013 is supposed to be a big ride year for them... TOTALLY AWESOME to see S:UF from above- Now if the switching mechanism had been in use... spurt. Up they go... More lifthill porn for S:UF. I have long thought that some of TPR's members' orientations leaned to the left. Now there's proof. Passing through the park and onto the second phase of the backstage tour, we passed by Goliath... this turnaround element was TERRIFYING at night- and painful in the back seat. Wheel-Nerd shot... Water Dummy Smoking Area behind DDD... Peeking through the trees... As we approach the money shots, I did take some pictures of DDD. My camera, however, does not like doing high-speed shots, so you may notice that many of these next pics are 'after the action' DDD exiting the first Immelman element. Grumble. At least it's IN the element this time. Damn columns. "Hmmmm... I wonder what was on this site before DDD?" One last update to go... Schwarzporn update and the rest of DSB. Part II: 9-16-11: After being fished out, it was time for lunch, and Elissa (Who I'm now positive knows -every- good restaurant anywhere!) directed us to Max Lagers- a brewpub not far from Olympic Park. The food was -awesome- (at least to me) and an order screwup meant I had a lovely bacon cheesburger... plus some interesting times had by all. On the way to lunch... and a potential credit lives here... Gregg, His son, and Robb- Robb's wing-ERT hadn't arrived by this point. Domo, having found his way to Max Lager's, had a few Cokes... and then found Adam... Pink Domo, Schwarzkopf Domo, and Adam... Who's quite curious to see the Domos holding hand... I guess that makes him a Domosexual? This is not on the menu... the Garbles Sandwich. Quite popular, too. After lunch, we headed back to Mecca for the caffinated set: The World of Coke. For me, and my over-saturated Coca Cola loving body, this was one of those special moments that is hard to describe. Hmmmm... I wonder if there's Mountain Dew here? MMMMM.... Bottles of foreign goodness from the 1996 Olympic Games... Why YES, that is an Uzbeki decorated bottle of Coke. Ich Gut, Ja? This character is part of the new World of Coke promotional film... of which, only the penguin background singers have eyes... NO! ADAM! You'll turn him into bronze! I... Want... this... KEG! Konichiwa! Arigaito! Adam, it's not a Light Sabre! I think this was the most moving statement from the whole exibit. After a trip through Coca Cola's History, I got to see what is now my #1 single item on my Christmas List: The world's smallest Coca Cola Bottling plant. This contraption can fit in the space of a three-car garage, and I've already decided that one will have to be built into my next home. I can SO hear "Factory Concerto" running through my head right now... MMMMmmmm... precarbonated Goodness. It puts the COKE in the BOTTLE... How to make Coke in just a few easy steps. After a journey that is most definitely TPR approved- the bottles are finished- and then meet up with this awesome bottle packing robot. For those who have never visited World of Coke, there is a tasting room where the brave can try all 64 different drinks, plus the -awesome- Coke Freestyle systems now popping up all over the USA. I DID ALL 64 FLAVORS... including "Beverly"- also known as the world's biggest practical joke. After the first 32... I was beginning to go into sugar shock... Once fully bloated out on Coca Cola Products, it was time to meet up at Centennial park- where a number of our fellow TPR people had found the playground... Adam and Bryan convince Allison to go on the spinny seats. I knew better. Kidtums finds the 'hidden' credit here... as did I. Garbles and Adam having a spin. I did ride that rollerslide- and my butt still hurts afterwards... not to mention I shot off the end of the slide about 5 feet. The TPR people headed back to get rental vehicles, etc. and Jo and I headed back to the Hotel for some downtime prior to dinner that night. Carrabas takeover was -great- and a good (if not LONG) time was had by all. Gregg, Adam and Jack outside Carrabas during the "Get the people OUT of the tables" moment... Robb, Jo, and a bad shot of Garbles. Kidtums and friends in a chair takeover Brandy and her Husband! (Her presence there was just amazing!) One of the biggest surprises of the Carrabas takeover was Brandy's Cake. A true masterwork for TPR, down to the logo, the SixFlags around the cake, and some awesome trim. Kudos goes out to her amazing baking skills for this cake! Brandy's FANTASTICALLY WONDERFUL CAKE! Brandy AND her Cake! DSB 2012: I'm THERE. (I might even be living there by then!)

I was -blown- away by this Bash- for my first to be so incredibly fun and over the top would say too little- but meeting all of the great faces and people from TPR was the icing on Brandy's fabulous cake. Thanks to SFoG- and more importantly, Robb and Elissa for giving us what was one of the greatest single days in my life!

In the name of the Lord, Our Saviour, Anton Schwarzkopf, amen. Praise be to Anton. You might want to re-think the Speedracer a notch or two: Pretty layout, but you might want to consider a few changes to it: 1.) Your helix near the end, I'd consider making that a wider-gauge helix. The Speedracer class of coaster seldom (if ever) had tight radius helices, as they tended to detract from the grace and flow of the basic Speedracer coaster. 2.) THe end brake-run/workshed: Very few Speedracers employed a full-shed type structure for the brake run/transition track/storage tracks, and all of them did not have second point braking prior to the platform: Re-think this a bit: Instead of blocking the trains then turning 180 degrees into the shed, remove the shed, and make that last turn a banked 180 degree turn into the brakes. Also (and related!) Schwarzkopf coasters tend to have all blocking sections for the platform in a straight-line configuration- in this case, I'm guessing from the picture you have a three-train, two car ops: Place four blocks prior to the platform house for it. Also: In many cases, the platforms on Speedracer class coasters were narrow and thin; again, very few used a full-sized house, and even fewer had covered platforms. If you wish for a shed type platform, I'd use HersheyPark's Loopingracer "sooperdooperLooper" or SixFlags over Georgia's LoopingRacer II/Heartline I "Mindbender" for visual advice on the platforms themselves. "Start at the Beginning... and when you come to the end, Stop." As many people know, for the past six years I've been floating around trying to make it to a TPR event, and due to a rather hectic travel schedule, they aren't that accesible to me. However, I finally decided to make one... and there were some very hard decisions over which one to do, including an aborted WCB 2011 (Gee, you mean I miss out on WCB to go to Boston? Oh boy.) amongst others... Then DSB appeared... and the final 'haul' for me was this: BEE-R-T. So I went forth preparing for the voyage to Atlanta. As busy as I was, I let Domo do the 'shopping' for me... NO, Domo. We're not flying USless Airways. Oy. Domo. No, we're not flying American either. Domo, are you SERIOUS? Stop that. No more airline booking for you. So Domo was banned from booking the airplane tickets, and I found a great package on AirTran Airways that had the hotel and airfare in the same package. (I ended up saving over 120.00 by doing it that way- a good thing to note for future TPR Bashes!) DAY ONE, 9-15-11: Flying to Atlanta... and meeting up with another TPR member! In order to survive the time-zone difference, I decided to fly in early for DSB- and to avoid the sleep problems of the red-eye flights. Heading to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (What a name, no?) I got some time to do some 'really-nerdy, really OBSCENE' pictures of the things with wings that keep me employed before boarding. Meanwhile, Domo had a surprise for me... "They're lined up like Rockettes!" Six years after they merge... and USless Airways STILL hasn't repainted all their planes... My airplane is a special Southwest Airlines theme-jet...it's painted in their AirTran Airways colors! Domo knows to keep his seatbelt fastened whenever seated... BUT... Domo is -SO COOL- he gets upgraded to Business Class. I didn't, However. Arriving in Atlanta, I found that I had a couple of hours to kill- as My TPR roomate's plane was arriving a bit late, and I arrived a wee bit early. What to do, what to do. Well... MMMMMmmmm... BEER! DOMO! NO! That's MY beer. Not yours. We all remember what happened on the NE Trip with beer, don't we? So we ventured to the gate, and Domo promptly pulled out his sign for the inbound TPR member Jojo 19799. And here she is! The first TPR member I've ever met in person! And here she is! The first TPR member I've ever met in person! After a rather long, and -very- lost road trip through Southern Atlanta, we finally got to the Wingate at SFoG. A great hotel- and very efficient, clean and fast, we checked in and headed up to our room... Jo and I went to go find food... and Jo's friend Pink Domo found Schwarzkopf Domo... It turns out... Pink Girl Domo came with Jo! Ahem. Domo, I sure hope you were careful there... Day TWO, 9-16-11 Today was the 'unofficial' TPR Aquarium/World of Coke takeover- This was my first time to see downtown Atlanta, having spent many other times at the fabulous Hartsfield Airport complex. It would also be... the first time I met Robb in person (DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN!) But first, we had to GET to Atlanta... WOW... Goliath Eye-View from our hotel room! New to ABC this fall: "LOST... IN ATLANTA!" Finally, Domo pulled out the RIGHT map, and we soon found our way to the Aquarium. Jo has the patience of Job- as I can't read a map to save my life- and Domo kept handing me maps for Boston, Chicago, Detroit and Walla Walla Washington. Memo to me: Don't let Domo handle the maps. The Georgia Aquarium had surprises around every corner, and plenty of fun to be had amongst all sides. One of the best fish-houses in the world for me, there was a total interaction with the sea creatures of the world, and some nifty surprises all over. Finding our way through the building was a bit challenging: I'd say that it was laid out much like a maze, but that would be an understatement! FISHES! FISHES! FISHES.. oh wait. We're in an Aquarium. There will be fishes here. AW Crapola. We're not in Atlanta... we're in Orlando. I should have suspected when we saw a Manta overhead. Hmmmmm... that's almost big enough to be lunch! I didn't see the sign on the tank- "Caution, there are Lawyers Present!" I didn't see the sign on the tank- "Caution, there are Lawyers Present!" Nor did I see the sign that read: "ACEer Feeding Frenzy- BEWARE!" Watching the feeding of the Whale Shark WAS pretty amazing... and rather scary too. Memo to me: Do not stand in front of a Whale Shark. Ever. The Otters were... Otterly too cute? Otter this world? A whole Otter animal? Otter nonsense? (You may now puke.) Patrick has been exposed! He's a porn-Star in Atlanta, and a dimwit in Bikini Bottom. (Hmmmm... Now THERE's an idea... 'Patrick Starfish in 'Bikini BOTTOMING!' These little creatures were amazing to see- basically, walking sticks that swam. Not much meat on them, though. For me, however, the 'win' attraction at the GA was the penguin enclosure. One MUST stop and ogle the off-the-chart cuteness level of these well-dressed birds. These cute penguins were a real highlight of the Georgia Aquarium! Kristin and Elissa under glass- I love this shot! Garbles and Allison get their turn under glass (Is your head OK Jake???) Going for a dive! Sir Clinksalot TOO popped up in the Penguin Dome... As did Adam... ROBB! Do not eat the Penguins. They are NOT Buffalo Wings! CAUTION: THESE NEXT SHOTS CONTAIN INDECENT LEVELS OF AWWW AND CUTE. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. AWWWWW!!!! CUTE!!!!! FOOOFY!!!! After overdosing on cute rodent-like sea mammals, we saw this weird thing: I always knew Conan had the acting skills of a fish. Now it's been proven. Venturing forth again, we entered a gallery with lots of hands-on things, and lots of future shark-food...er, I mean, KIDS. What's weird to me: Kristin (Kidtums) was better behaved than the whole lot of older kids there- and shows how wonderful she really is! Lionfish... More Lionfish... Wait. What is Crush doing here? I knew we overshot Atlanta and ended up in Orlando... I wish the color had come out better here- but with some creative photo-shop efforts, this will be a gem: Robb and Kristin at the Horshoe Crab feeding tank. This to me was the 'money' shot of the Aquarium. The swampwater tanks were -infreakincredible - as you walked THROUGH them. I knew we were in trouble entering the Amazon theme-tanks... and running into... ONO! ACEers! LOTS OF THEM! SWIM AWAY! SWIM AWAY! NO! We are NOT full of GRAVY! Caution: Cute levels may be excessive here, too- kissies! Mugging for the camera... "I'm ready for my Closeup, Mr. DeMille! I'm sorry: I really can't come up with a good line for this one- other than 'Awwwww' OK: Apple is getting a -wee- bit too big when Fish can now buy the IPod/IPhone. Next up was the Jellyfish- or should I say (wait for it...) "ONE... STINGULAR SENSATION!" Amazing to look at... But painful to touch. Lava Lamps! They remind me of Lava Lamps! The colors here do no justice to how beautiful the real fish are. Stunning all over, these fish have colors that I cannot describe. Eric, Deep in thought at the tank. I heard about this at lunch during DSB- and was -thrilled- over the reveal; granted, it's a bit anti-climatic after the blueprints/etc. were leaked a few months ago. Overall, I think this is a perfect addition to BGW, and a real chance for Zierer to segue into the large coaster market. Kudos to Zierer for that, and congratulations go all around to Busch Gardens on their new baby!

Nahh too easy.... A drifting coaster (the e-motion coaster from Mack GMBH) has a coursse not unlike a Vekoma Jr. coaster that had sex with a wider-wild mouse. The car's chassis 'flex' as it goes around corners, and the ride vehicles 'drift' off the general course, and lean out around corners. Mack GMBH's webpage featuring the E-Motion coaster Enjoy, R.D.

The layout of your ride is, if I might be bold, one of the -finest- layouts I've ever seen for an RCT III coaster- EVER. There is a fluidity, grace and style that isn't seen many places- whether real world or not. It's flawless in every way, and would make for a great junior coaster if not a drifting coaster. Most excellent work there.

This is NOT a good sign- at all. Somebody has seen something bad, and it's scared them. Parks don't close up early- it's just not done as a habit, as it (As we've seen) pissed off every person around and in the end, it doesn't make MONEY. When you're looking at a capital expenditure for rides, and you're not bringing in MONEY, then it's a moot point. The most perishable item in a Theme Park (and in all other industries) is TIME. When you give up a day's worth or potential revenue, you're letting that time go to waste- no income for you to work with. I have to -seriously- question the Park's management decision on this- It might not be as full during the weekends as you'd like, but it's still better than to have rides, shows and attractions sitting dormant on a perfectly good revenue day. It's either that, or they are sending a signal that IB is having financial difficulties that we're not being exposed to. I'd bet it's the latter, in which get your charge cards out, folks. I know I'd be looking for a great backyard coaster, cheap. (JetStar, anyone?)

A chance to torment Jake and Bryan 8.) Mindbender 9.) Going someplace where it's 30 degrees cooler than Phoenix 10.) Ummm... did I mention, Mindbender? Two days till departure- four days till I'm THERE! OK: 2A)- Meeting Adam... and hopefully seeing the Bar Mitzvah video I've been told about.
