  1. There's nothing wrong with a little Windstorm action now and again... especially since the design is loosely based upon the Schwarzkopf Wildcat 54 model... (And great TR, too...)
  2. No problem: If you choose to go from TUS, your best bet is Southwest- and they do LAX nonstop from TUS. As for the rest of the routing, that's a bit more complicated... Now, that having been said: One CAN do a through-ticket (Multi-stop) routing from Southwest as well- However, you'd have to fly from ALB (Albany, NY) or BUF (Buffalo, NY) to make that work: That way your whole fare could be as one ticket- and might end up cheaper as a result. Also: Southwest does do good discounts along many routes that you'd not normally think of, particularly in Decemeber and January.
  3. Try Virgin America, most likely around Christmas/slighty before and after...
  4. It's a shame this never developed out: However, with one post, and one post only, it's now going by the wayside: Lesson here: Don't open up a thread and then leave. You will get locked down, and if it occurs a second time, you will be banned. R.D. GFMT
  5. I'm on the fence over this one: With the 'TPR Showdown' in place, 24 people are playing that already, and it appears to have tied up most of their resources (At least from what I've read in chat) attention wise. If the advertising being up was anything of note, sure, why not- save the fact they'd not be coming to us unless they weren't getting the traffic/attention for the game in the first place. However: I'm already facing an up-hill sell due to the TPR showdown in the first place: As it is, I'm having to re-work the schedule for the TPR Track Challenge: Winter Wonderland (Title set) and have CPM's hoilday bonus go pretty much side- by - side to gain some traction with it. In the end, I like the gesture, but advertising their contest here would probably overtax what we've already got going.
  6. I'd invest in this project about as much as I'd invest in American Airlines- and for the exact same reasons... But then again, every year we get one good 'it'll happen, sure' park. This is no exception to that rule.
  7. Um, no. Biblically speaking, Judas betrayed the Prophet Jesus.
  8. It's hard to predict if the franchise will have the staying power as one like Star Wars, but I would say chances are good that it will remain popular for several years. Just with the sheer number of people that have read the books they could probably keep the place busy just from annual visits by obsessed fans. If this expansion plan comes to fruition, it will only strengthen Potterworld as being a destination in itself (and yes further isolating the actual theme parks it sits in) which can only help its popularity. And that's where I see a serious flaw in their logic/use. I could understand making a theme area with say, one or two rides, but nothing on the lines of what they've done with the HP rethemes. You're looking at a whole different ballgame with an HP theme area, as it tends to overgrow the whole meaning of the word 'Theme Park'- Look at IoA- and how the rest of the park is neglected compared to HP world. If anything, perhaps the better business decision would have been to make HP into a separate paid area- and keep it as that. (I place on my flame-proof undergarmets now). HP, if it CAN stand on it's own merits long-term would then be it's own third ticket park, and not necessarily leave out the rest of the park itself. One could imagine if that were done more interactive attractions than what is currently provided by the existing theme area. Something more akin to an immersive theme park experience, not just a Potterverse. (Just my .04 on it-)
  9. This is the only part of your crazy idea that seems plausible...mainly because MiB is just falling out of popularity enough for Universal to consider building a show/attraction around it! Actually- it's not as far fetched as possible: MIB 3 is due out this summer. It might make for a decent tie-in.
  10. "To believe in Him is to be Saved (From backaches, neck problems, head trauma and bruising)." (And thanks, too. I'd been tinkering with doing a series of compact Looping rides inspired by His ideals.)
  11. AHEM!!! I'd be HAPPY to get a holiday gift like that. NOTHING would possibly make me happier (Other than the lead car...)
  12. Warning: I'm not responsible for nausea and vomiting as a result of the following pun. Viewer Discretion is advised... Perhaps it's name will be (WAIT FOR IT...) MONTDEUX
  13. This is something I've found comparing say, Geist Almighty to the recent round of B&Ms- It's like they have decided to eliminate some of the reason B&M coasters were great in the first place: FORCE. Schwarzkopf's coasters, no matter when they were created, had FORCE in them- right up to the last handful built. B&M, however, has erased the force out, and started to trim-up the wazoo with their coasters. They have lost the spirit that makes them thrilling to me. Don't get me wrong, fun and full of laughs and smiles. But nothing like the when you would get a good-for-you dose of 4.5gs or more, or a nice snap into and out of elements making it thrilling. Sadly, I'm going to vote Leviathan into this mix. I'm actually more inspired and excited by a 200 foot Intamin coaster over a 305 foot B&M coaster. Why? The B&M will be fast and fun. And FORCELESS.
  14. I for one think that Harry Plopper is going to end up being a fading memory in another decade- requiring a huge capital outlay to change up the parks again- and possibly at a time when it's not resourceful to do so. (As an example) Look at Tommorowland, and it's facelifts over the past 20 years- and still no end in site to it. Now in 10 years, picture the Plopperverses having to be gutted, updated and changed- only without Disney's resources. It will be a HUGE mess. And an EXPENSIVE renovation. Harry, it's time to retire. You've got grey hair in the latest film. Perhaps we'll see a more time-and theme- friendly redesign though in the future. I still think there's a lot of Universal properties that could be far more entertaining in the parks, and some that would work well with the feeding frenzy of 'Haunts' out there. Steven King's novels could be made into long-lasting scare attractions/ride through attractions.
  15. I'm in. I think it's a great way to spread the TPR love around!
  16. 6.) My first TPR event- DSB. 5.) Seeing my beloved HP drive a whole mess of us crazy with RIT,LaMarcus Bros Mid-Air-Excavation,O'Connell Plumbing and Drain, Coaster Test Pilots, and JDVM- and then revealing SkyRush... and for a handful of us, becoming a Jr. Researcher with RIT. 5.) Watching the world go ape-ca-ca over B&M Wing coasters.... only to realize that it wasn't B&M's innovation at all. 3.) Logging the special Southwest Airlines theme jets to and from Atlanta for DSB... painted like an AirTran jet! 2.) Finally meeting some of the nicest people on earth- my friends here on TPR. (And looking forward to 2012- and meeting even more of you!) And.... #1: Having some very special, private and close-up-and-VERY-personal time with MindBender at SFOG. (A few of you have the pictures.) R.D.
  17. AAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! I was soaked completely on GASM.... I'll be -drenched- on GC.
  18. BEST. COMMENT. YET. (I have to agree with Guy's comments there... He WAS the only one smiling after getting off of GC...)
  19. I'm going out on a limb here... Robb, I'd have to guess that Swarm was your 'most overrated 2012' coaster. Personally, Swarm is MY over-rated coaster for 2012, but that's me. I'm putting it in the same place as SFDK's new Superman crapactiy monster.
  20. (EDIT TO CLARIFY) Are you talking about in terms of maintenance or crowds? Hulk just got its queue refreshed and Spiderman is getting an upgrade. Doesn't sound like IoA is being neglected to me; that is, if I understand you correctly. I'm thinking of how empty other parts of the park are- Maintenance is fine, don't get me wrong: But parts of IOA are starting to look 'decayed' and have lost their lustre quite a bit. It's all about Harry- and I'm really not wild about it. If IoA were to keep up with the other sections (Add rides, renovate full themes, etc.) I'd be more for it- but that's not been the case therein.
  21. While I'm always happy to see a park expand/re-theme areas, this one is not in my top-ten best ideas- at all. For some reason, IoA got neglected following HP's addition there, and I'm wondering if the same thing will happen to USH after HP is opened there. I'd not be thrilled too much over this- yet.
  22. Sigh. I've got a long list of 'wallpapers' I'd love to have- including ride attraction posters. I'm hoping to have a 'before Eisner' and 'After Eisner' room theme- with things like Matterhorn, etc. in one room.... and 'Screamin' etc. in the other. (I'll be in the poor house with you, Adam.)
  23. So, I've been creating again... and thinking that something like this might be worth it... SCR91.BMP I wonder what I was inspired by...
