  1. Wow...this is awful. Prayers go out to this guy's family.
  2. Hey! Just a heads-up: There's a computer virus circulating that has been found in a fake news article about a supposed roller coaster incident at Universal Studios Orlando, so don't try to check that out
  3. Indiana Jones Adventure (and Space Mountain to a lesser extent) at DL have long queue lines, especially considering that Space's indoor queue is never full while the crowds are held in the switchbacks outside. I also remember Alpengeist having a long and confusing queue, which we didn't need at all because it was a station wait both days we were there.
  4. I have yet to ride a wing or sit-down from B&M, so let's compare what I have so far. I will include my favorite of each kind as well. 1. Flyer (Tatsu) 2. Invert (Alpengeist) 3. Hyper (Apollo's Chariot) 4. Dive (Griffon) 5. Floorless (Scream) 6. Stand-up (CGA Vortex; RR doesn't get brownie points for its trains' restraint issues)
  5. My best guess is a haunt maze at Wonderland, but hey, you never know.
  6. I'm curious to see where Goliath will enter the Mitch Hawker poll this year. I doubt it will be #1, but it seems like it will be pretty close!
  7. Another informative post: the area in question from Innoventions was from the time when the entrance was on the (then-rotating) bottom level. You could enter into a couple different preshow areas before continuing inside. I'm not quite sure when or why the rotating ground floor stopped. Oh, and nice TR!
  8. Here's something, though: Our country was created from complaining. (Boston Tea Party, anyone? ) To me, it only makes sense that the picture of a lawsuit-happy culture descends directly from our Founding Fathers. Or something like that
  9. Judging by my limited knowledge of CGA's layout, the pavilion isn't quite close enough to the main gate for the picture to include it. This reminds me of the Downtown Disney-esque concept that Shane uncovered...it's a shame that never came to fruition.
  10. That looks really nice! I feel like the main entrance to the park itself could use some love, too...
  11. Kingda Ka S&S Thrust Air 2000
  12. I'm sorry, but this had to happen...
  13. Paris Blohm & Taylr Renee - Left Behinds VS Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash - Reload (feat. John Martin) This mashup got played in Hardwell's set at Ultra Music Festival 2014...so amazing...
  14. ^Please, no. I enjoy listening to electronic music; I tend to listen to DJ sets off of YouTube...
  15. Vertigo at Walibi Belgium was an interesting example of coasters that were rarely open. Clicky! Of course, it didn't look that great...
  16. About the lighting: BGW would like to have a word with you But seriously, great photos. They looked fine with the misadjusted white balance or whatever.
  17. ^ & ^^ Okay, thanks. That might have been a misinformation; the lady selling tickets was upselling really hard, so I'm not sure what happened there. All I know is that the 3 of us with season passes successfully brought in the rest of our group as "friends".
  18. Just out of curiosity, I've heard about Carowinds and VF; what's #3?
  19. I remember my brother on X2...he screamed comically the entire time, with intermittent refrains of "Why am I doing this?" and "How are you supposed to ride this thing?" Once we reached the brakes, I asked how his ride was. He responded, "Am I dead?" My friends are total dorks (myself included), so I have numerous stories of hysterical ride experiences. For example, I rode Demon at CGA with some friends of mine. When we reached the tunnel after the second loop, a bunch of girls started screaming. My friend proceeded to yell, "What's so scary about the freakin' tunnel?!" Another time, we were at Disneyland, riding Star Tours II. At the end of the ride, I said "Amen" (it's sort of an inside joke, but watch Key & Peele's video "Black Ice" and you'll get the gist of it), and one of my friends very loudly responded, "AMEN!!!" That made me slightly uncomfortable, but it was funny regardless...
  20. Okay, I have another SF season pass question. I mentioned that my family had bought season passes at SFMM. Let's say we decide to try to use our season passes at SFGAdv in the fall. The bring-a-friend option is available once per month, and we have 5 people and 3 season passes. Would the bring-a-friend perk work at SFGAdv, or would we need to buy 2 more tickets?
  21. I would assume so. I've only had the chance to ride SUF twice, but it always fills up the switchbacks. It's interesting to see that the Oasis Plaza coasters (Kong and Medusa) had short waits while Boomerang had an hour-long wait all day; it's generally out of the way of the guests who don't care for the animal exhibits. I'm also glad to see I'm not the only one who actually enjoyed SFDK's Boomerang.
  22. X2 seems to fall into this category. I didn't happen to find it rough, despite being in the last row...what makes this ride my #1 is the abundance of "HOLY CHEESE WHIZ" moments (particularly the 1st drop and the 2nd raven turn, but the vehicular flips elsewhere are also great). In terms of short coasters, honorable mention goes to FT, Xcelerator, and SFDK's S:UF. FT: Amazing airtime...well, for California, anyway...I left the backwards launch as a surprise for the rest of my family, leading to some priceless reactions after the ride Xcelerator: Isn't it obvious? S:UF: This is one of those rides that scares you on every single lap, namely because of the backwards ascent into the non-inverting loop and the slow barrel roll. Both elements trigger "ohsnapohsnapOHSNAPOHSNAP" reactions every time.
