  1. Is it going to skew the results if I rank my coasters into my 8 favorite tiers? And leave off everything else? So basically my 50 favorite coasters with a crapload of "ties" for first, second, third, etc. I won't submit if it will screw up the algorithm but it's how I'm currently ranking my favorite "best of" coasters. I always have to be different and difficult see: https://coasterpoll.com/u/anonymouscactus/rankings
  2. Hmmmm... I think I'm going to do this. 8) -- just thinking about how to get creative with it. I'll be riding coasters this weekend for inspiration! Maybe filming a fork in a competing park and tying it in somehow. I normally do stylistic music videos so... hmmmm... interesting. I'll let you know what I come up with edit: have two amazing ideas, just hoping I have time to make the magic happen
  3. I'd say skip it, personally. It's expensive, the animals don't ever appear to be happy, and there isn't a whole bunch to do. Granted I have not been there in years but I doubt anything has changed. You have Darien Lake, Wonderland, and even Fantasy Island if you want rides. The animals aren't a huge draw IMO. Go to the Buffalo Zoo instead. One (subpar/decent) coaster does not make an amusement park. If you do go, bring good shoes. lol.
  4. Just started using MyFitnessPal thanks to this thread! Easier to use than I thought it would be so far...
  5. ^^ The view of Niagara Falls is WAY better from the Canadian Side... BUT!! The USA side has Cave of the Winds and is the best way to "experience" Niagara Falls IMO even though it's with the smallest of the 3 falls that comprise Niagara Falls. (FUN FACT) -- So definitely do that. And it's pretty cheap (though the line can get really long at peak times... but completely worth it!). Just make sure you have a change of clothes!!! https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-d283344?m=19905 ^ that's me!
  6. I think the biggest issue, just a guess, is the fact that the rides didn't have enough time to do thorough testing. Just because the weather will be ok this weekend doesn't mean all the rides are ready to go since they haven't exactly had the best weather the last few weeks for testing purposes. Yes I know a lot of the rides ran in 15 degree temperatures for HITP but it's not ideal for first runs I would think.
  7. I was always hoping they would do a Christmas retheme for Antarctica. (They are capable of doing any color with all the lights throughout the ride; they run color tests every morning). Throw some Christmas hats on the penguins, have you riding Santa's sleigh for the chase scene, use red/green lights etc. Add some flare to the ride for the holiday season. They used to do (still do?) Polar Express for Christmas at Wild Arctic, and Wonderland turns wonder mountain into a zombie theme for Haunt, so it's not completely unheard of (granted I know they are all different companies and designers). The movement would be more difficult because you'd have to make 4 separate ride programs (technically 8 due to wild/mild), but even throwing in touches to the existing ride and motion would be neat.
  8. Great report. Really makes me miss enjoying (and working at) SeaWorld. It's a shame they neutered Journey to Atlantis. I wish I had the training manual from it's debut, the story was pretty elaborate... (I mean that seriously). I haven't seen the "new" version yet, I'm assuming it's on YouTube somewhere.
  9. ^ Wow!! Seriously impressed! Do you have any other knex projects of that scale, or is this your first? Edit: Nevermind I'm dumb and just looked through your profile on YouTube. Very cool stuff.
  10. There is a photo floating around Instagram (I don't know the original source) showing the lift hill with parts being painted green.
  11. But a cloned B&M is OK? Now it all makes sense!! ....
  12. *blink* Knoebels and awful in the same sentence? *blink* *blink* -- takes a screenshot... and maybe alters it slightly...-- Mua ha ha.
  13. Hold the pickles hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us
  14. On busier days, just watch the time of the dolphin show, when that lets out they all go to Journey to Atlantis and Turtle Trek (and to a lesser degree Manta). JTAs line, on a hot day, will jump dramatically when that show lets out. At least it always used to -- Same goes with Wild Arctic when the Orca show lets out. Just something to keep in mind if you are watching the shows. Get in quick, or go farther away from the stadium.
  15. Great report! Great writing style. And a few laughs for good measure. Still have yet to experience the elusive pretzel that literally EVERYONE talks about.... mmmm...
  16. Great report! You really go into the nitty gritty. Lucky you got so many rides in thanks to the single riders!
  17. If you use the desktop version of Google maps you can input what time you would be leaving from point A and it will estimate traffic with historical data.
  18. It's not done after 12 installments, though. Yes you can cancel, but it doesn't end unless you actively cancel it. Thats where the $$$$$ comes in. Not just the fact your paying a premium over the course of the year. People will simply keep it going because it's so cheap, where if it's yearly, they have to actively buy it.
  19. Holy crap, that thing is --FLYING-- I think those are some of the g-force monitors flying off, lol!
  20. Pass holders get 30 min early TT privledges on weekends. https://www.kingsdominion.com/tickets-passes/season-pass-exclusive-ride-times Includes opening Saturday, so get there even earlier!
  21. First time parking with the barcode it's free. You can't use it again to park until you get your actual pass, in which case it's added. It is worded funny but you will not need to pay to park if you have a pass that includes parking.
  22. ^zburns, I can 100% assure you all the perks are good from every park. That includes purchasing bring a friend tickets off other parks websites. The only issue I've had is trying to buy add-ons from a different parks website. So in other words even though it's good at all parks, it's cheaper to get all-season funpix from one park over another. If buying online, you have to buy that add-on from the park website you purchased your pass from. That's the only stipulation I've ever seen. I've been told purchasing it in-park from a different park was no problem, however, though I can't confirm. I'm lucky and normally go with Wonderland's pass due to the fact it's the same price in CAN$ as USD$ so it's always a better deal due to the exchange rate. And the extras are cheaper than Cedar Point. In summary, you'll be fine. Enjoy your pass!
