  1. Pizza pizza was edibly gross/extremely mediocre at Canada's Wonderland (never had it anywhere else, though) -- There are tons of other great food options at Wonderland, moreso than most parks, so I would settle for something besides pizza pizza.
  2. Anyone have details on this? I read that one day they didn't have it ready and opened Magnum instead, but is it true the last few days it wasn't running at all for early entry? It's still listed on the website, so that's why I'm wondering. I know it's probably a crapshoot, but is it just consistently not ready, or is it really not available at all?
  3. Of all my visits to different parks early this season, this is the one thing I noticed most at KI. No waits for food, can just walk up to get a drink, staffing on the rides was at it's max, everything was open, etc. Really made for a fantastic day. The BBQ was great. We actually went to a BBQ place for dinner after the park and my fiancee said she liked the park food better.
  4. I still hold the opinion that Cave of the Winds (U.S. side) is the best attraction in Niagara Falls. Look into it if you haven't already.
  5. Went to the park today and had a great time. Every coaster (including WMGuardian; though our guns didn't work and the ride is really run down already) was a walk-on for us, many even for the front row. Got on everything we wanted, and grabbed a burger with my meal plan from the place near the rapids ride (best theme park burger I've ever had!), did everything we wanted in 3 hours and went back to Buffalo. No complaints other than it was tough to get a fountain drink with my pass, and the one place I waited at, the syrup was gone on the coke and everything else was flat. Skyhawk was closed today as well. Operations were great throughout the park! Glad we ended up going to CW over Cedar Point, which I heard was a crapshoot today as well.
  6. I've seen more than one report and two photos from different sources from the station (where it's clearly nighttime) that the ride has re-opened with one train. App also states it has re-opened. "Chess" train is running.
  7. Changing plans and going to Wonderland tomorrow instead of Cedar Point, anything noteworthy to mention from today? Damage from the storm last night causing any issues today? How is staffing/food lines? Looking forward to an hour of early entry on Leviathan!
  8. There are apps to "fake your location" via GPS. I use "fake location" on Android.
  9. ^ what time did you start at the resort entrance / how early did you get to the park?
  10. Here you go (Steel Vengeance Funpix video): It gave us the wrong train on the account, though. So hopefully they fix that. It's similar style to the Mystic Timbers video. Taking a freeze frame of this video is better than the actual still camera photo placement which doesn't capture at a good angle. Like others have said, hands down for the photo would probably be best. Also right now it doesn't let you edit the crop, placement, brightness, or purchase any items on the FunPix account like all other photos. So keep that in mind, you might want to talk to the actual employee and have them adjust as needed and have them apply it to your account rather than doing the kiosk. Hopefully they fix that, too.
  11. In Buffalo I have actually had a lot of random people mention that they saw the new ride on the news etc. Whether they knew I was an enthusiast or not, it it came up in conversation when I mentioned I was going to pass holder preview a few days ago so Media Day made it's round even here being 4 hours away. Other people just happened to bring it up. They all think the ride is crazy / I'm crazy for going. Everyone on Tuesday when I came back into work was asking how it was, so at least at my workplace there is quite a bit of buzz PS: ride is nuts. lol.
  12. You actually don't need to go to the ride to reserve it. You can reserve a ride from the q-bot device from across the park if you want. The time you reserve is displayed on the device. You can cancel a ride reservation at any time and pick a new one if you choose. You can go to a ride ANY time after your time is past... so if you wait 2 hours for food you can still get on whatever ride you reserved last. You can clip the device onto your clothes and they don't consider a loose article. Yes you can ride other things while you wait. Protip: don't wait until you get off the ride to reserve your next ride. You can schedule the next ride the moment they scan your pass so do it in the station as soon as they scan it as to not waste any time. I think that's everything.
  13. ^ Chick Fil A is back in the park for this season. Traditionally we always started at Maverick for a few rides, then headed to Millennium Force during early entry, then hit Dragster at official park opening. Then do everything in the back of the park and work your way forward so you ride Raptor, Gatekeeper, etc. after 3 or 4 pm when it's slower up front. Valravn is harder to catch at a "good" time but I'm not the best to give advice as we usually end up skipping it unless we have FL+. But Maverick and MF were always good choices for early entry. Unfortunately with the opening of Steel Vengeance, more people are going to start in the back than ever before, so until we have some solid data the best plan of attack for this year is up in the air. I would think the earlier the better for Steel Vengeance... but how everything else fits in is yet to be seen. Budget for FL+ and not worry about doing things in a certain order (though even the rides up front traditionally can get long FL+ lines in the morning)

  15. So, Steel Vengeance question for anyone lucky to get on it.... anybody know the on-ride photo location? There were also rumors of a Funpix video similar to Mystic Timbers. Anyone notice the location of either one? I know I wouldn't be able to find it floating (errrr mercilessly being thrown) around on that monster, nor would I want to focus on it my first few rides, but I know SOME of you may have been able to find it after 10 rides -- just curious. I'm aware that it probably wasn't working or turned on yet, but figured the equipment would at least be staged/installed. Maybe.
  16. ^ I feel your pain after seeing all these videos and reviews. I made the last minute decision to take off of work on Monday to drive 4 hours there and 4 hours back for the pass holder hoedown. I thought I could hold off until the following weekend, but damn, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. 8) Awesome footage all around, Robb!
  17. Love this poll and the results! Thanks to everyone for all the work that went into it (including the voters!)
  18. Absolutely destroyed my eating this past weekend. Driving to Cincinnati my fiancee discovered there was a Bahama Breeze and she needed to stop since it's been a few years since we've been to one. Though we shared the main course to cut calories, I still ate like crap and got a giant dessert. Did more than DOUBLE my allowance. Yikes. Then we did Kings Island on Saturday and ate well for lunch on the meal plan (gave my fries away and ate small meals) and that would have been good for the day, but we passed a BBQ place outside the park that we wanted to try and lo and behold I'm stuffing my face for dinner. Whenever I go to restaurants that are new to me I just want to sample everything I can. Ugh. Sunday i tried my best not to eat ANYTHING so I only had about 1,000 calories total, so Sunday I tried to make up for it, but still. Hoping to get back on track.
  19. Actually, the Beast lift hill was going even slower than THAT (the normal slow). Like, ridiculously ridiculously ridiculously slow. We were stopped on the lift for a few minutes, and it felt like it was going faster than when it was actually moving The new BBQ place is GREAT! After riding everything again, I can officially say that Mystic Timbers is my favorite ride in the park. Got 4 rides on it, all different parts of the train, and it did not disappoint on any ride. It was hauling. Tons of fun.
  20. Source????? Maybe with the free ticket promotion for concert ticket holders it inflated their numbers... but I find this **REALLY** hard to believe that they had anything even that close to 1999 numbers.
  21. ^ Same here. I normally don't really care about celebrity deaths, but have a lot of great memories with his music. And several videos I made featured his music. He said one day you'll leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember...
  22. ^ No advice other than Platinum pass holders (and the rest of your group if you have any) can pay the price for regular Fast Lane and get Fast Lane Plus but only if you buy it at the park (instead of online). This is only for Platinum and only at Cedar Point. You'll save a ton of money. As far as whether to get it or not depends on if you love waiting in lines or not
  23. I bought mine online for last year and there was no record on the pass itself I had bought it, supposedly, even though I already entered the pass number when I bought it. So I had to go to the Funpix booth and show them my receipt on the first visit of the year last year and then they activated it to my pass. Once you are "live" and active it will immediately work at all parks without any new intervention. Used it at 5 or 6 parks last year with no issue after the initial hurdle. I'm curious since my account is still active online with all the photos from last year if I will have to visit the booth or not. Same pass number renewal, etc. I'll find out Saturday as it will be my first park of the year (different from my home park) and I already paid for Funpix when I renewed.
  24. ^ So interestingly I was curious and entered known pass info from Canada's Wonderland without funpix on it into the CGA site, Carowinds, CP, and CW site no problem, but doing the same exact thing into the Knott's site doesn't work. So some sites work, some don't. Since they are different prices you hypothetically should have to buy it at the same park you bought the pass at, but who knows what it's "supposed" to do. I guess you should get it cheaper while your can though I would also bring a confirmation email that you bought it with you in case anything weird comes up and it doesn't work out of the box.
