There was 1 day I logged into the portal and at the top next to my name and whatever it did show total points despite the fact I still had a sign up link. I registered about 5 times when I bought them during the flash sale. It hasn't appeared since that one magical time and there doesn't appear to be a link to be able to spend the points. But it did accurately portray the 650 points I earned.

Based on my one ride on Viper last weekend, while I didn't specifically look very hard since it wasn't mentioned before, I saw a few little props strewn about below the ride... but nothing I would consider even close to a haunt maze. At least I hope not. Then again I should never expect much from a Six Flags Halloween event.

Since the rest of the turnstiles aren't on the Six Flags system yet, the membership line was a hindrance for me. You HAD to go in that line (at least that's what I was told when I went to a regular turnstile), whereas other parks you can go to any open Lane. The regular entrance wouldn't let me through. Lots of people were in front of me exchanging their paper vouchers to passes in the membership line so it was going sooooo sllooowww in the morning but luckily someone just opened up a lane next door at the perfect time and let me through right away so I got to bypass everyone.

At the park now (first time in many years), the water park is open in case anyone is interested! I've been here a half hour and here is my thoughts so far: - Actually got through parking with my pass from great adventure, no problem - got through the gate with my membership, no problem - they actually came up with a system to allow the dining pass even though registers aren't set up yet, you go to a distribution center and they give you 3 slips of paper for lunch/dinner/snack How VERY un-Six Flags! I thought for SURE I'd need to go to guest services at least once today... - Tantrum is ok. Nice little ride but too short. Love the lift. - Viper bashed my head pretty good. What year did they move the viper photo to before the tunnel? Caught me off guard. In line for predator now... Edit: predator was really rough but I actually still had a lot of fun and there was tons of airtime in the second row. Ride of steel is running well. Crowds were light. Tantrum was 5 min, predator 1 train wait, ride of steel and viper was walk on. Update: 1:22 pm water park is closing Overall a very short day but I actually enjoyed myself

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

As far as ADA, as others have said, there are invisible diseases that prevent people from standing in a long 2 hour line, and I think they are very accommodating and fair with the way they handle it. And yes, it's not a skip the line pass, they can't get a time for another ride until the previous one is up; but some might see it as unfair that they can go play games, shop, eat, or go in a shorter line while "waiting in line". That being said I don't think there is a perfect system that will be perfectly fair and perfectly pleases everyone. I like the way Cedar Fair handles ADA way better than Six Flags does as far as ease of use. For the times I've had to use it due to someone else in my party, different Six Flags parks handle it a little differently and at some rides it can be a huge pain for some having to go up the exit to get a time if it's a difficult or long ramp (really? why can't the greeter do it like any other park?) and then go up again when it's your time (take Nitro as an example) and then some Six Flags parks give you a standard length based on estimated crowds (so even if lines are very short at the start of the day you may have to wait 30 / 45 / 60 min before going on your next ride regardless of how long the line is). I do wish Cedar Fair required a Dr's note, though, like Six Flags does, to cut down on abuse. It's nice how at Mystic Timbers and Steel Vengeance they temporarily chain up a row so you guarantee that nobody takes eachothers seats. Because sometimes people don't listen to the groupers and then you have too many people on the platform, people taking your seat, etc. Anyway, in other news, Witches Wheel has already disappeared... (that was quick) -
As others have said in the past, the crowds at this park make no sense, lol. Exhibit A: Labor Day weekend Saturday: beautiful weather, holiday weekend, no significant lines that I saw. Exhibit B: Labor Day weekend Sunday: same weather, holiday weekend, 10x the crowds (based on what I read, anyways) Typically the holiday Monday itself at ANY other park will yield better than the weekend, but I swear you never know with this park.

^ for those that processed their Darien Lake passes, are you able to put them into the Six Flags app or website to see your benefits, or it is that not yet a thing? Or did they give you paper coupons for your BAF stuff? Throughout the Six Flags chain gold pass users always got the same generic cards as everyone else regardless of pass type. That changed with the memberships.

So to add to my post above in regards to my visit to membership perks / skip the line at Great Escape: The 2 free skip-the-lines worked a little different at Great Escape compared to the other two Six Flags parks I visited: 1) Each one I received was good for up to 4 people 2) I didn't need to specify what ride I wanted to use it on beforehand, I could just walk up the exit to any ride of my choosing 3) The expiration date was the end of the season, not that day So it does seem there is some variations, although it's important to note Great Escape doesn't have a Flash Pass / qbot system, they have their own thing. I ended up giving our second one away to another family at the log flume. Made their day.

^ based on my experience with a diamond elite the last two days at SFGADV (home park) and SFNE: The membership specific perks are good at all* (domestic) Six Flags parks, great escape, la ronde. It is not just your home park. Drinks. Skip the line passes. Etc. You do get ADDITIONAL benefits on top of the membership ones at your home park, however, such as Bring a Friend Days, and you must process it at your home park you purchased it for. One thing I also found out is you can register your barcode on the membership website, so prior to your first day you can reserve your parking, and use your benefits with the paper order number barcode. When you actually exchange it for plastic at the park (didn't have to wait at member services line, they did it at the priority membership entrance gate and handed you the proper card) it magically updates your barcode with the actual card number your received as they are now officially linked so you can enter all your registered pass info ahead of time before even going to the park. It updated automatically on the member website and the six flags app. Can't believe this was possible at Six Flags (and they make no mention of it anywhere). Positives: -Paper flash passes were a life saver at SFNE with the boarding pass program they were using this weekend with one train operations at Superman - 50% off pretty much EVERYTHING is a great deal - The special entrance saved a lot of time at Great Adventure, SFNE there was no shorter wait. - Preferred Parking at Great Adventure was easy Negatives: - I tried to reserve parking Saturday at Great Adventure, Sunday at SFNE but you can only reserve one at time. By the time I could reserve for SFNE they were out of space. I was added to the "wait list" and all sorts of goofy stuff started happening. I got an email this morning about my water park seating confirmation (even though I did nothing with that). When I went to view it said the reservation was not in the system. When I went to the benefits page it said my parking was reserved, but again, when I pulled it up it errored out. I had no issues at Great Adventure, though. I hope the mix-ups don't "ding" me for not using what I didn't even reserve. - nobody seems to understand the discounts for flash passes for a single visit. 3 different people at the FP building told me 3 different things in regards to the $15 off vs free upgrade vs the entire order or just the single person. Will be trying my luck again at Great Escape tomorrow. Have my parking confirmed for them but can actually view the reservation this time so I don't foresee any problems. Paper flash passes are good for one person. It explicitly states this on the receipts it prints out. If you have elite it's one person per slip. So if you get 2 passes for being elite, you can get them both for the same ride and ride with a friend (using both benefits for one ride). That being said, I have read that when the flash pass building is closed, you instead get a different kind of card from guest services and people have been able to use them for multiple people. But that is not the norm. The official verbiage on the paper tickets say VALID FOR ONE PERSON. Overall it's been pretty good. I'm happy I made the jump to a membership. I kept my fiancee on a regular gold pass and she is upset that I skipped the line without her to get into the park so I could also grab the flash passes, lol while she waits to get in. Didn't think that one through. The free one-time membership stuff is good for each calendar year so hypothetically you can get a free photo print and digital photo Dec 31st and then again on January 1st. Same thing with dolphin swim at Discovery Kingdom, etc. Most of the benefits for "$off" stuff and upgrades are useless for diamond elite because the 50% off trumps the actual benefit. (So 5.99 funnel cakes, icee upgrades, and whatever else) have better deals with 50%off. If that makes sense. Sorry if I got too wordy and all over the place. Typing on my phone in a hotel room

I sent them a message on Facebook messenger and I'll ask in the Six Flags chat later, but for the flash sale the website talks about Platinum, Diamond, Diamond Elite and even gives a comparison but the store only has the season pass and the gold+ membership to purchase. Wondering If this going to be fixed or if they are not offering it yet? I know the perks will be no good until 2019 at SFDL (officially!) but I want to buy it for other parks this weekend and still have Darien Lake as my home park. Might buy a gold pass for the fiancee and a great adventure membership since that will be our first stop. Was hoping to go SFDL though. Oh well. Oh yeah, and skyscreamer...

^ old restraints, yes. New restraints... hell no. Amazing ride. -
1) Keep in mind they require you to visit and process by the end of the season (Oct 28?) to get the gold perks. (they say that, but I've on multiple occasions had someone process after the deadline / the following year and still got gold) 2) If you plan on buying a dining pass it is also the cheapest you will get during the sale. 3) If I remember correctly they ALWAYS extend the sale by at least an extra day every year. The price increases are not substantial after the sale is up but it will go up. However also keep in mind there is usually a buy 2 or buy 4 minimum passes to be able to get the gold upgrade, though, whereas the flash sale you can buy 1 or two passes for the discounted rate and still get gold. Hope that helps. That's just based on previous years at other Six Flags parks, Darien Lake might be different. I have a really bad memory too so don't take everything at face value, lol. Black Friday they typically do another big sale if I remember correctly where I think you don't need to process until Memorial Day ish the following year for gold perks.

Do you know the way to San Jose? Whoah whoah whoah whoah whoah whoah whoah whoah whoah -
Lololol... as much as I hate this thread sometimes... all the time... sometimes you find the diamond in the rough That being said, as a kid the General Store was the secret to saving money. You could get a $15 footlong at Subway, or a $6.00 sub at the general store. $3.50 drink in the park, $1.28 icee at the general store. My cheap ass knew my way around back in the day, lol.

Interestingly, on Saturday they had all 4 membership levels listed with prices listed next to everything EXCEPT gold+... now it's sorry if reversed with things removed. so it's still a major work in process. I'd be disappointed if I couldn't get an elite pass on Thursday (only because I'm planing 4 SF parks this weekend and I'd love the discounts and benefits!). I'd prefer to buy local over Great Adventure and making that my "home" park for the discounted bring a friend's / etc. There is a price difference, too. Plus the line to get the thing will be a huge factor. Processing at Darien Lake on Thursday night would be ideal. This of course is assuming they get their s*hit together.... which they might not do until next year... or at all... with this membership stuff. Holiday in the park might get announced on Thursday for 2019 ?¿? I don't think we'll see a Hurricane Harbor change. At least not next year. But I'm not always the best at guessing these things...
