The SWSA Platinum pass was $150 up until Jan 31, now it's up to $199. You can also do that split out as a monthly fee/ezpay but unfortunately they no longer guarantee a rate lock and it will just be the current rate at the time of renewal but if you don't want to get a new pass and keep paying a lesser rate by paying SWSAs rate is a better deal than any other park in the chain. I'm guessing you could use your ticket towards the full price, but not doing monthly payments.

Darien Lake is opening in 2 weeks! .... for a 30 min laser show in the parking lot that they probably made for last year and couldn't use... UNTIL NOW! https://www.sixflags.com/darienlake/events/drive-in-laser-light-spectacular I'm wondering if buying a season pass to attend will actually activate the card or not.... so I can turn around and go to Great Adventure in March with a slightly cheaper SFDL pass. (plus i'd prefer the perks from my home park rather than at GrAdv.) (I didn't buy a pass in 2020)

Lots of great info!! Thanks so much. The "other rides" you mentioned are great to know about or plan for. The websites don't tend to stick out the diamonds in the rough easily Also it's always good to know about staggered openings, they always tend to surprise me and ruin my original plans, lol. As for switching hotels, if Choice does their promo of buy 2 stays get 1 free (only counts for a STAY, not night) which they may not do anymore due to the pandemic, I'm not sure, then I'll switch mid-trip just to rack up points, but you are right they are all very close to each other. Since we will have the car it wouldn't be a big deal to switch we would just take our stuff in the car and lock it up. But fair point! Thanks again for the great info, and great to know about the San Antonio SEAS pass. Only $149 / 11.49 per month for platinum, currently, good at all the parks we will be going to later in the year. ---- Anybody know what the free PLATINUM Pass animal encounter at SWSA is? It doesn't go into any details and the animal encounter page has tons of options... some cheap, some very expensive, so I was curious of the limitations or if they just give you one, or what. EDIT: Nevermind... just found that too... https://seaworld.com/san-antonio/annual-pass/animal-presentation/

Marineland Discussion Thread

Didn't watch the video or see any of the details other than what was posted above, but as someone who lives near Niagara Falls.... ummmmm... good luck with that. Place feels like a ghost town in the winter, and MarineLand is a ghost town, well, always... -- I don't think moving to year round operations will change that. -
Whoa whoa whoa.... thanks for the report.. but hold on there one second.... Dollywood has a wannabe Moose-on-the-loose themed with black bears!? Why is this the first photo or mention I've ever seen of this magical ride? Maybe I just missed it... Any weight limits, limitations, or info I need to know? Is it a unique layout or a clone of the Darien Lake ride? (I'd assume it's the same manufacturer) Is it relatively new? Maybe that's why I didn't see it on my visit a couple years ago (after lightning rod opened, though!) but I'm surprised it isn't talked about a little bit more Do the bears talk!? These are all important questions. Time to find a POV on YouTube. EDIT: ah, Wildwood Grove didn't exist yet when I was there, so that would explain that. I saw the POV and it looks lame compared to the SFDL counterpart

Chaos needs just the right weight distribution per car for it to be a decent ride. The empty cars flip like crazy, but put some weight in them and it is just some rocking back and forth for the most part if you watch closely. It's more fun when the fuse goes out for the button that is used to manually rotate the tub (sorry I don't know the technical terms for any of these things, to no surprise to anyone ever (Martin's) Fantasy Island at the time didn't have actual SOP's to read or study lol.) for those rare times a tub was flipped when the ride stopped and "locked" into place you had to use the button to swing it back into normal position. Until you find out the button didn't work and a guest gets trapped upside down for 15 min. Good times. Also: what the hell is this restraints automatically raising when the ride is done, technology? You had to go to each car and lock each cage and manually unlock the cage when the ride was done. Pssh. Adventure Dome has it easy. -
At Seaworld Orlando there were different temperature thresholds and not an exact number... I don't remember the exact numbers, but let's say the day starts up warmer and then cold down later, Kraken can start running at a minimum of 45 degrees, but if it's been running throughout the day it can still run down to 40 degrees... as an example. So if it started off 40 degrees they wouldn't open the ride. But if it was 45 and then 40 degrees later in the day they kept running it. And yes the various "starting" temps and "running" temps were actually listed in the SOP. Journey to Atlantis just couldn't have ice on the tracks, lol. 34 degrees you can ride JTA but not Kraken. Many-a-test-runs on the cold days. That said, I have no idea about Busch Williamsburg. But my point is the number might not be one secret number they may have just put it on the website or published it somewhere to make things easier to understand for the average person. Something something why isn't Great Adventure open go ride nitro something something.

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
anonymouscactus replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm still using the same card from 2014; the awesome Leviathan one. They shall never take it away from my grubby hands! It has had 3 different home parks over the years despite having Canada's Wonderland on the front. I think I finally uploaded a new headshot photo last year though. Haven't been to the pass processing building since I originally got it 7 years ago. Doesn't Cedar Fair allow you to pick up a card at the front gate now (provided you uploaded your photo online)? -- I thought they started doing that if you wanted a physical card. I know Six Flags also does at the gate and will take your photo at the gate as well, but I could have sworn I remember reading that Cedar Fair can give you a card at the gate now. I could be wrong. -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

So... Canada's Wonderland is offering all season FastLane for $450 Canadian ($352 USD) for just Wonderland, OR $875 ($684 USD) for all Cedar Fair parks. If Cedar Point (and Cedar Fair in general) decides not to do daily Fast lane again this year, I feel like this is a MUST and worth the premium... however, for us, it wouldn't pay for itself if they offered the daily versions again and we just bought it each time it's needed. We usually go to Wonderland around 5 times and Cedar Point the same. I'll hold off for now to see what they end up doing, but just wanted to mention it here that it's an option. I'm not sure if the US counterparts will follow suit or not (if history proves itself, for the same price in USD as Canadian for the all-park version, meaning the Wonderland version is a much better deal), but we shall see. I doubt you can mix and match a Cedar Point platinum pass with a Wonderland All-Park fastlane to pay the Canadian rate, but luckily my 2020 pass was a Wonderland pass. EDIT: Just decided to start browsing around. Carowinds and Dorney have the all parks Fastlane as well, as suspected, for $875 USD -
I didn't see the photo or video or whatever of what you are all talking about, but standard operating procedure on Manta at SWO is after the trains go into flying position, all ops on platform are supposed to neel down a bit and check the entire train for legs being out of the restraints. In my tenure I had personally seen it happen maybe three times, and only once did they make it around the track. It's actually easier to miss a foot out than you think when checking restraints all day or quickly. Lucky for SeaWorld nobody ever checks restraints quickly. As a rider, I've had my restraint close on me with my foot out but of course they caught it while checking restraints, without need to mention it to them. All that being said, if I remember correctly (I'm getting old) there are also light curtains in the station, that, if anything hangs down a certain length below the train (such as a leg), it will trip the curtain and stop the train. Occasionally when someone had REALLY long hair, or a weird long flowing dress that hangs out of the restraints, it would cause the ride to stop in the station. We would actually tell the guest to pull up their dress so we can get it moving again. I don't know where I was going with this other than it being an interesting tidbit about B&M flyers.

https://www.shopthreebros.com/products/winterberry-red-apple-bombshell-hard-cider Limited edition.... I think? But one of the few ciders I have really enjoyed recently. My wife bought ~40 or so cans recently... so I think she's a fan too.... -
Saw my first musical of 2021 today.... https://www.playbill.com/ratatouillemusical For $5... it wasn't bad. It was impressive how quickly it all came together and the cast they got. I don't know anything about the tik tok stuff or the background of it, that's all my wife, but it was entertaining enough and an alright way to spend my night. lol.
