Lagoon Discussion Thread
Mr Stratosphere replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My first visit to Lagoon was last year and I was pleasantly surprised with this park, I didn't anticipate spending the whole day there, but we did! Operations were terrific and there is a nice balance of flat rides, dark rides & coasters! Totally going to have to make a trip up this year for the new coaster! -
^ And just going back through the photos that were posted, the second photo looks like it is Quantum, Hard to find other photos of Anthem, the video they posted of the float out doesn't show it either. www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/video/542/anthem-of-the-seas-docking-out/#ooid=FxYWVuczo8rH9L4ct5hNDt4zZHYnjaj6

It won't, LVCVA (Las Vegas Visitors Convention Visitors Authority) purchased the property to expand the Las Vegas Convention Center. Would be nice if they imploded Fontainbleu to collapse on the Riviera, that would be a site to see and a great way to get rid of the biggest eyesore in our city's history.

And of course Mayweather vs Pacquiao. I booked a room for the last night of operation, I would have kicked myself if I didn't do it.

MGM Grand swallowed up The Marina, The Marina's hotel tower still stands today as MGM Grand's West Wing. The Linq/Quad was Imperial Palace. Most of downtown is still preserved/updated.

TPR Facebook Questions
Mr Stratosphere replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Do you have your videos set to auto-play on your: a. desktop computer and/or b. mobile device? (or if you don't know, just tell us if the videos auto-play or not in your news feed.) On my desktop they auto-play, on my mobile device I have it set so they do not. 2. Do you regularly "share" content from Facebook "page" (like the TPR page) to your own personal Facebook page? And have you shared something from the TPR page? All the time, but mainly items that are weird or interesting, and mainstream popular items in the US, I try to be a bit selective since I have a lot of friends on my FB Page that are not hardcore enthusiasts. I try to post things that would draw friends to the site. 3. What kind of content are you most likely to share? (Videos, Photos, News Stories, etc?) News stories, and mainly the odd things that we don't always see from other sites, like weird coasters and rides of China/Japan. 4. How long on average do you watch a video posted to Facebook for? Do you watch the entire video? First 30 seconds? Until you get bored? It really depends on what it is, on other sites/pages, I tend to only watch 30 seconds or so, if I'm not interested, I keep scrolling. I tend to watch things that make me laugh, I love fail compilations. 5. How important are "video thumbnails" to you? (the image you see with the > Play icon before you click to watch a video) I like what you have been doing lately with a type of a "meme" look, there's a call to action to the video. The more appealing the thumbnail, the more likely I am to click on it. 6. What do you like/dislike about Facebook? What features do you use the most and which ones annoy you? I really dislike the way the news feed works now, it used to be in chronological order but I find that certain items are out of place and I tend to keep seeing old things pop up that I have seen days ago. I always try to set it to "most recent" but it doesn't always seem to work that way. I do tend to use Facebook more on my mobile device than anything else. 7. Is there anything that TPR does or doesn't do on Facebook that you think we should be doing more/less of? I really find the posts on TPR's Facebook page very entertaining, I really like when a friend that isn't a coaster enthusiast shares a TPR post to my timeline, nice to know that others see the content. -
Below is the video from Controlled Demolition Inc. who imploded the Gramercy.
