What restraint do you think is the Safest and most comfortable. Also what company Manufactures them? Me Personally i really like the restraints that Interactive Rides uses on its Frequent Faller, Insanity, and X-Scream rides. It is a simple 4 locking ratcheting lap bar with a seatbelt. The restraint is bulky around the thighs, and has a bar to hold your legs in place. I was told that these restraints are designed to go upside-down in. I feel Comfortable with these restraints. What do you all think??? These Restraints can be for Roller Coasters and Flat Rides.

We believe it or not have even stayed there making it a weekend getaway if you will. It is nice the rides are alright, Desperado Hyper, Log Ride where you can shoot targets. Virtual Roller Coaster, Turbo Drop, and a motion simulator. Just hope you dont get a room on the side with the first drop of the Desperado, kinda a headache getting woken up at 6am when they are testing it.

Well you should stay on the strip. Stratosphere is the most reasonable on the strip starting at about 35 - 40 bucks a night Look at the Strat web site for some great deals. But if you want to stay off the strip, try, Station Casinos, Sams Town. Or try Downtown. But there i only recommend, Main Street Station or the Golden Nugget. The Rest are kind of run down.

At the Stratosphere you can find Everything out plus videos at our web site http://www.stratospherehotel.com/ http://www.insanityride.com/

Yes part of the park was demolished when the pool area and conference center opened up. That is why the Lightning Bolt was moved outdoors and Deep Earth Exploration, and Backlot River Tour was closed down. And now since the parks demolition last year the Residences at MGM Grand is now being constructed there, with up to four 50-story high rises.

Yeah be sure to check out the Freemont Street Experience they updated it with VIVA VISION by LG its now the worlds largest LED display, The image is great and now considered the largest TV in the world. Also check out all the free stuff. Bellagio Fountains, Sirens of TI. Be sure to check out the LuXor IMAX 9 story screen one of the largest in the world. but hey Vegas is the Adult Disney World. Just explore and you are bound to find something to do here.

It really is a shame because alot of locals come to the Adventuredome, Wet 'n Wild and Scandia for some fun with their friends. Those were the places where friends would go to escape the heat and get away from their parents. Hopefully MGM wont close down Adventuredome, maybe since they can afford it expand the park! Do something better with it. Vegas is trying to get back to its sex appeal as the major draw. Well we know Strat is safe because we have the Extreme rides up there (excluding high roller) which will still attract the thrill seekers.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Mr Stratosphere replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The last coaster I rode was the High Roller at the Stratosphere Tower http://www.stratospherehotel.com/ But i dont know if that counts because we ride them every day for testing. But otherwise my last coaster outside of work is the Rockin Roller Coaster at Disney MGM Studios at Walt Disney World. -
Since you will be in Vegas you got to ride all the rides here, even the TOGO (hey its a credit) I recomend sitting in the front row of the last car on the Manhattan Express at the NYNY. That is the least rough place in the train. Adventuredome has a decent Arrow double loop-screw (indoors) Still holding up well. Saharas Speed the ride, great ride very short, but most shuttles are. Look me up when you go to the Stratosphere, Ask for (Mr.Stratosphere) they will know who you are looking for. The High Roller highest rollercoaster, kiddy ride just 909 ft in the air. Big Shot worlds highest thrill ride. Standard 160ft Shot Tower starting 921ft above ground and topping out at 1,081ft. 4 G'S up -1G down. X-Scream (teeter toter) this ride will send you 30ft over the edge of the tower on 109th floor, 866ft above the ground, at 35mph. Insanity our newest ride is an inverted centrifuge where you swing 64 ft past the towers edge at 45mph and 3G's What is neat about X-Scream and Insanity is that you go over the edge of the building with only a lap bar! Hope you come out to vegas and have a great time look me up. John

I remmebered this park, it was great as a kid, SkyScreamer was a great sky coaster, the largest at the time of construction, until Florida's sky coaster opened. Origionally it was easy to get to the park and easy to find. Unfortunately MGM Didnt have a good reputation with rides, look MGM Grand ownes New York New York and they purchaced a TOGO!?!?! and Primm they had Desperado where maintinence issues caused the ride to derail in 2001. And now that MGM Is buying out Mandalay Bay, What will happed to Circus Circus and the Adventuredome? Rumors are right now that the Adventuredome may be demolised within the next 2 years because MGM wants to get ride of Circus Circus. Business wise i beleieve this is a bad decision. Wet 'N Wild was first and now Adventuredome. Scanda will also close this year.

Best Drops....
Mr Stratosphere replied to BiCoastal Kid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really enjoyed Desperado's First Drop but since the ride isn't aging well the coaster has become really rough, but I still love that first drop. Tower of Terror (Disney MGM Studios, Florida), there was one program i rode which was the best. The ride actually caught me off guard. X- SFMM -
It pays to arrive early at a theme park
Mr Stratosphere replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Arriving early is a great idea! I found that out 3 weeks ago when me and my Dad took a trip to Walt Disney World. Staying on the resort actually helped when you can get those "Extra Magic Hours" Where the parks open 2 hours early, and can stay open up to 3 hours after normal closing. Arriving early to Disney MGM Studios I was able to get 7 rides on Tower of Terror and 4 rides on Rockin Roller Coaster with no longer than a 10 minute wait. One Wednesday when we were there Magic Kingdom was open 3 hours later than closing which was great because all the little kiddies went off to bed. So all the rides were pretty much a walk on. Even for Spring Break no stand-by line was over 90 minutes. The weather that week was also a little patchy so that helped with the lines a bit. Well if anyone comes out to Vegas to ride the rides at the Stratosphere, I recommend to come during the day, there is no wait, During the evening the lines to get to the tower are not that bad, X-Scream, Big Shot, and High Roller barely ever have a wait because of our quick dispatches. But Insanity's line has averaged a 2 hour wait every night. We even expanded the Queue area for this. But the best time to come up is Sunset when we have the High Roller closed for its daily maintinence. Around 6 P.M. is the best time to come up, and watch the city come alive. But this is kinda the same thing Get to those parks early! -
Insanity Opens to the public tonight at 9:00 PST Yesterday was our media day, go to http://www.kvbc.com/ our local News Station. Where you can see the new ride in action. The ride itself is really fun, nauseating, but not as scary as we thought, people were having tons of fun on it. That was a shocker to me, people in the media were going back in line to ride again. Hopefully the public will love this ride as well.

Well no matter what is said, if it was not safe, we would not have been allowed to install the ride. Safety is number one at Stratosphere, if you ever go you will notice we dont mess around when checking restraints. we double check everything. I notice at other parks, some attendants check with a finger, not acceptable in my book. Also our ride engineers begin inspecting the rides right after we close and right up to the opening the next day. I would have not ridden the ride if i didnt think it was safe, nor would i operate a ride i didnt believe was safe.
-
Correct. There may be a chance to ride opening night (10th) depending on how big the press event and party are. The ride attendants may get to ride sooner, other employees will be on the press day. More info will be announced today at work, and i will post tomorrow. X-Scream was "soft opened" 1 day before the grand opening, so once again we will see with insanity.

Sorry, yes March 10 is the opening this upcoming Thursday. Working there 2 years we know more that go on there. Actually the weight of the ride was taken out of the building (concrete steel etc) before it was put in place. So we really didnt add too much weight to the top of the tower. X-Sceam has been a great hit since it opened Halloween in 2003. As for the loose articles we do not allow any loose articles on Big Shot, X-Scream, or Insanity. High Roller is the only ride where loose articles can be taken along. On Insanity and X-Scream if we spot a camera, purse, etc. We will stop the ride and remove the article, and resume the ride. People spitting or flashing the camera will be taken down by security. We dont mess around with people throwing coins and other objects from the rides. We are strict, but thats the way it should be right? Pricing, Tower Admission is $9.00, High Roller is $4.00, X-Scream, Big Shot, Insanity $8.00 plus Tower Admission. Re-Rides are $4.00 Per Ride. All day unlimited pass $24.95 Locals recieve -$4.00 on all tickets. We cannot wait for Insanity, and are looking forward to its opening. go to the webcams at www.stratospherehotel.com during the day and see the finished product. The ride is completed. at night you can see its multi-thousand dollar lighting display on it. The ride itself is just insane. Once i ride, i will give a report on the ride. I am actually scared of it, X-Scream doesnt scare me but for some reason Insanity Does. We are expecting people to vomit, espically people coming up from the Top of the world rest. atop the tower. Our management got to ride on the ground and they said it is nauseating. So we are expecting it, but hoping it goes off the edge, so we dont have to clean it up. But this is the last ride to be placed atop the tower. Have a good night everyone.

I am 18, and i am also a Ride Attendant atop the Stratosphere Tower In Las Vegas, NV USA. My first coaster was the Desperado (Primm Nevada) at the time it was the tallest and fastest coaster ever built. When i first rode i was only 7 years old. Unfortunately the coaster has not aged too well. Now its only open on Holiday breaks, and weekends only. It is really sad. I think the coaster should be moved where it can be ridden more.
