Favorite Outdoor Activities (Besides Coaster Riding)
XYZ replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Random, Random, Random
My favorite outdoor activity (other than coaster riding) is bike riding, nothing better than being in the outdoors. -
It's a great coaster, but I have three complaints: 1: The Drop: It seems a bit too steep and a bit too goofy to be a B&M. I really like as others said on this topic "out of the box", though making it a bit more like a B&M coaster is more fitting. 2: Too spread-out: The turns and the hills seem a bit laggish, especially that one close-to-the-gorund turn shown in a lot of pictures. 3: Footers: Well, a lot of people said this, though the supports seem to wide, make them more "B&Mish". This is constructive critism as I really like the layout and how the coaster interacts with the terrain. Just make it a little less goofy.

I'm wondering why they didn't do this last year when it was built? -
Never had have that happen to me but sounds horrible. There was a booger on the Demon restraint in CGA. Though, it was in an area where I can avoid contact with it.

It's the principle behind the wave-motion that I question here- not the wind vs. airfoil dynamic. Tacoma Narrows proved one thing: The longer the unstructured span, the greater the waveform dynamics will be applied force-wise to the structure. Adding six extra tons to the top of the tower, then letting Superman off will push the oscillations quite a bit more. Considering the profile of the span (From top to bottom, not front to back) you're looking at a 400 foot long span that will be only structured on one end. Add that weight, and without a counterbalance, you're going to see some movement. That's where I'm raising the question long-term. I'm sure Six Flags thought this through. The tower is strong and can easily have a bit more weight at the top though such a minor addition to the tower structurally won't have much of an impact.

Your favorite track support!

I have always liked the supports on the GIBs, especially the towers. http://rcdb.com/748.htm?p=35841 -

Hopefully, the new GM would try to get a new major coaster in VF by 2014. -

I'm wondering if these new Vekoma trains can fit on Arrow track? Vekoma can make a fortune on making rough, intolerable Arrow coasters into a smooth & fun experience. -

I wish CA would have something this amazing. -
I did my 1st geocache yesterday! It was a lot of fun. I wonder if there is a geocache in an amusement park.

Vekoma doesn't give me that "fresh" feeling. Who said the local produce was fresh?

What I was trying to explain about grizzly being coasters for "little kids". Kids over 48 inches are still little. They may be the height requirement but are you telling me that you haven't seen a kid that seemed small for the seat. Their body frame was just small. That's what I mean by little. Also when I was a kid I was terrified of upside down coasters so I would always go on the grizzly. My thought process was "this is a big rollercoaster". (pyscho mouse wasn't there). Grizzly is there for kids who need that confidence boost. I personally would rather pyscho mouse gone because its such a painful design. My lower back hurts more coming off pyscho mouse then grizzly. Grizzly is a hell of a lot smoother then gwazi at BGT and the beast KI. Gwazi caused pain in my lower back and breasts while the beast hurt my lower back and knees. I never had that problem on grizzly ever. Psycho Mouse actually never hurts my back, it sometimes hurts my legs because of the design of the lap bar restraint. -

Don't they need to put a lot of research into their report? This is high school not elementary school. -

Oh yeah, these are those Gerstlauer Family Shuttles that nobody knows about and seem to be rip-offs of the Vekoma Junior Boomerang. -

Sorry, but keep wishing, it ain't coming true. Enthusiasts supposedly wished for it to die for over a decade and Cedar Fair is not going to pull the plug. Trust me, there is going to be no dueling Vekoma boomerangs or a relocated TOGO coaster. Plus, the only TOGOs that CF has now is SkyRider & Shockwave, each of which would be scrap metal if replaced. Ouimet would never allow dueling Vekoma boomerangs unless he and the rest of CF executives become insane savages. -

Leviathan is a giga coaster, if you don't believe it, you probably woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.
