  1. Minnie's Fly Girls seems like a Pan Am-rip-off. (The ABC show airing on TV now)
  2. Most of the coasters in all Six Flags parks are mostly clones. Welcome to Six Flags!
  3. On CGA's facebook I found this photo very interesting because the white primer paint on Demon looks exactly like the Turn of the Century's colors. So, a blast from the past.
  4. Did anyone notice he said their shortest coaster is 1 minute and 25 seconds and that their longest ride is 36 seconds? Yeah it's not like they have to spend money on anything else or anything! How is Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster 36 seconds long?
  5. Well, the Loop the Loop (Coney Island) built in the '20s had a steel loop. http://www.shorpy.com/node/6898
  6. This might be the deadly "Intimidator" trims where it drastically slows the train down.
  7. With a GIGA!.... HAH, there putting a descent amount of work into Grizzly, I doubt they are going to get rid of it any time soon. Being my first woodie, it holds an unworthy special place in my heart, but then my 2nd woodie ever is the Giant Dipper at SCBB, which is so awesome... I am anxiously waiting for the voting etc. to happen on this new coaster, and hope like hell it's true. Maybe I can actually have a reason to go to my "home park", even though I'd much rather call SFMM at 4 hours away my home park. I feel the same way. I was a ride op for Grizzly in '89 when it actually was fun, I would be sad to see it go but happy for what could replace it. The park needs to put in this GCII coaster, get attendance back up, and work on a few other things before they should spend the money to replace it. With the work being done on it now they should keep it for a few years or so since they spent this money on it. Maybe put in another coaster first before replacing it. I keep on saying this. Grizzly is NOT going anywhere anytime soon. It is one of the most popular rides in the park and they are spending TONS of money on re-tracking. The GCI coaster is NOT replacing it, for instance did Renegade replace High Roller or did Prowler replace Timber Wolf? No.
  8. If they want to quiet the GCI down, have that one turn next to the office building have the Pony Express cover. (When I'm saying Pony Express, I'm meaning the coaster in Knott's)
  9. I bet a lot of GP think Hurakan Condor is going to collapse... I hope Shambhala won't have trims to make Shambhala's epicness turn into the intensity of a lousy Morgan hyper.
  10. I don't think there are many parks desperately wanting a CCI, known for rough, very unreliable coasters of which millions of dollars needs to be spent to renovate it. Look at what mess Knott's has with GhostRider, a formerly amazing woodie now considered one of the worst.
  11. I doubt the woodie would be built by Intamin. There is no reason why they would not build the proposed GCI coaster, it fit the terrain and fits well with CGA. We're just lucky Cedar Fair is starting to care about CGA, though that doesn't mean we'll be wishing for extraordinary coasters being built when a few months ago we were wishing that CGA wouldn't become a parking lot.
  12. I agree with SharkTums, there is no way you'll be getting 200 people an hour. Plus, we're talking about Six Flags, known for making low capacity rides have even lower capacity. *cough* Superman (SFDK) *cough*
  13. The Whizzer location is considered the northern section of the park, it's right next to the enterance. Also, hooray for CGA! Too bad I'm moving to So Cal right before this gets built.
  14. So, does Divertical count as a credit?
  15. I hope it's an aquatrax, since SFMM likes US Firsts. Though, I doubt it would be as good as Atlantis Adventure.
  16. In class, a kid told me that. Universal really should do more advertising. People will mistakenly go to Disney World for Harry Potter.
  17. Flashback needs a new home, how about return the exchange to SFMM.
  18. I actually liked Invertigo's color scheme, it fit in with the rest of the park. I don't know if the Stinger scheme would fit in, but only time will tell. I wonder if Invertigo will be renamed Stinger.
  19. Well than in that case they weren't lift supports. Intamin mistakenly delivered all the parts to Hersheypark, the coaster was supposed to be built at Knott's. Intamin really screwed up.
  20. Wow! This is impressive, though I never heard of the manufacturer Polin before.
  21. Coastal Comission's height limit, which is much lower (especially in recent years). You can see Atlantis Silos from miles away as they really stand out in the completely flat area. Though, 100' is really too short for a theme park, though that doesn't stop Alton Towers.
  22. I never quite understood why SFI didn't just relocate this ride to another park that met the height restrictions instead of modifying it?I still find it odd that they were even able to get zoning approval for it when they knew it would exceed SFDK's height restriction even before the first piece was installed. Well, Vallejo owned the park back then so they probably funded the money in re-doing V2.
  23. I really like how the coasters cuts through the scenery, as shown in this video.
  24. I'm excited of how Katapult will be re-themed as Superman. What I don't like about the new kid's area is it is based on the NEW Looney Tunes, which I personally find horrible and a disgrace to the old Looney Tunes. I wish they would've themed it to the original Looney Tunes that we all love.
  25. I talked to many GP in SFDK and they don't enjoy going through that barrel roll. Also, the count down gone wrong happened to me once: "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, -1, -2, -3" then the launch goes, it really messed me up psychologically. If I was a ride-op in SFDK, I would want to be V2's dispatch person.
