  1. It's nice to see Lake Winnie expanding. There hasn't been much in terms of expansion therefor a while. Certainly not comparable to something like a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park. But of course, it's a small park that's not part of a chain. Keeping small parks like that around is important.
  2. I would have to say Joris en de Draak at Efteling because its more than just a plain out-and-back, it actually has some complication to it. I really have to hand it to GCI on this one, getting them to sync up and pass a just the right places is amazing.
  3. I agree. It could probably use new paint. They should be able to afford that since a single ride is $14..... Or, better yet, you can have a wedding on the coaster for $700! http://newyorknewyork.com/content_cache_of_server_query_response/li/attractions_3.html
  4. Yes, it does have a low rider capacity to a degree. Keep in mind also, that this is just the spring break schedule. We could have a different schedule come out for the summer months. I'm optimistic.
  5. Six Flags sent out an email yesterday announcing they will be offering ERT for pass holders on specified days.
  6. ^ Yeah it really does annoy me too when someone of the GP says someone died on a ride. They just don't understand.
  7. eBay will probably be you're best bet; on eBay, you can view item from such a larger audience than around here. There's something like 125 million members in the United Stahstes along.... Something like that.
  8. Ok, nice, nice. It looks like everyone will be able to get a good bit of Wacky Worms. Which makes me very jealous.
  9. I think Outlaw Run will beat out Hades and Iron Rattler. Outlaw run seems better than Hades in terms of layout. I would say its close between the layout of OR and IR. I really like OR's layout as a whole, but but the first drop into the ravine on IR Is impressive. In terms of smoothest, IR and OR will probably be the best. Hades is still all wooden track. Another thing that factors in, is that OR is a brand new coaster form top to bottom IR and Hades are just coasters that have been innovated.
  10. Recently I have been doing some of my own off season camera prep. I was in the market for a new camera and what I was really looking for was a point and shoot that had a good quantity of megapixels and would also be able to shoot full 1080P video. When I was looking for some reviews, I found one really nice page. http://point-and-shoot-camera-review.toptenreviews.com/ I ended up looking to buy the Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR, which was the first one on the review. I check eBay and Amazon, and found that Fujifilm was selling them for around $350 each, but they were only $200-$250 on eBay. I did end up buying it, and I included a screenshot of the listing below from my phone in case anyone was interested in any details or wanted to buy one themselves.
  11. SFOG on Easter, then over to Carowinds for three days at the end of the next week.
  12. They probably do this because a large park has flats for families to enjoy, and larger rides that appeal to the audience of people who like more extreme thrills. Small carnivals and such don't have these rides, so their flats are more extreme, that way they can appeal to the audience that seeks more intense thrills.
  13. I usually like force, no OTSRs and a good array of old and unique elements. For example, Mindbender at SFOG.
  14. The reasons B&M coasters are great: 1- They are smooth, and they stay that way for most of their life. 2- they look great by design and their paint usually doesn't fall or fade. (With the exception of Tatsu) 3- Four seats per car increases capacity by A LOT. 4- They seem pretty easy to operate. 5- B&Ms are also good because they're widely available. You can most likely hop down to your home park and ride a B&M. Please note, these are just my opinions, it's likely you have a different view. All this applies to all B&Ms, not just inverts.
  15. I have an excellent place for anyone going to Carowinds or if you're in the Charlotte area; it's called Cookout. It's amazing. They are best know for their milkshakes, but their burgers are very good as well. I have a picture of the menu of milkshakes below. It is a chain, but the chain does not have nationwide locations, and they are only located in the North Carolina area. It is certainly worth checking out, it is good for both lunch and dinner. The other thing that keeps each location different from the next is that each location doesn't have the same flavor of milkshakes. Check out cookoutnc.com for locations and more information. I know all this doesn't meet the criteria, but I would rather contribute something rather than nothing.
  16. Hopefully either Goliath or Mindbender at SFOG on Easter for me!
  17. ^ Wow, that's a long way to go coming from Vancouver.
  18. Ahhhh. I hate people who do this. I see it all the time, you just can't argue your way into having someone else do something unsafe.
  19. I have a question about this picture-Could it look any better!?! Seriously, though, this RMC stuff truly is amazing.
  20. What is the ISBN for your book? I want to buy a copy.
  21. Rule #X Basketballs -You may not bring a basketball into the park. -You may not dribble a basketball in the park. -You may not purchase a basketball in the park. -You may not touch a basketball in the park. -You may not look at a basketball in the park. -You may not think about basketballs in the park. -You may not associate basketballs with the park. Total irradication.
  22. I have though of taking my own POVs, but really I see no point. The only thing I would use them for is views on YouTube. There are already tons of POVs of any coaster there already. Plus on top of that, I would be competing with professionally done POVs, like the ones Robb makes, or like the ones Coaster Force makes.
  23. I really agreed with this one the most. Theme parks you can experience thorough pictures (there are rides, I know), but in amusement parks, you have to ride the rides to gain the full effect. Will we have a daily burning question? They are pretty fun.
  24. Psyclone was pretty bad. So bad, in fact, that not even B&M trains could mitigate the painful experience imposed on riders. It even looks bad from the POV! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  25. I'm having a lot of trouble using Newton. I have been used to making nothing but hand-smoothed rides, but Newton really is the right way to go. Is there anyone who could help me out with this?
