  1. The top of the Immelman is pretty good on AfterBurn.
  2. It will never look that new again. I also thought that the two halves of the keyholes would be touching, they have a large gap between them now; what's going on with that?
  3. It seems pretty nice. It's a good idea to mix attractions like that- it's two experiences in one!
  4. It probably is a good idea to test at different other than operational speed. I would have never thought to do that.
  5. It sometimes rides good, sometimes doesnt! But it is a creative layout! It shouldn't, but it probably depends on the seat you sit in, right? I haven't been up that way in a few years.
  6. I agree it's an excellent idea. You could even have one train that's flying and one that's suspended. That would be two experiences in the same coaster, an excellent marketing point for the park. Like I said, the only thing is that the ride would have to be able to accommodate for both styles of train in the design.
  7. ^ Sounds fun, but it probably couldn't happen because it would probably be too intense with all of your weight on your chest.
  8. ^ Those guys back by AfterBurn do an amazing job at dispatching trains.
  9. Yes, YOLOcoaster seems to be all about the launches and "oh, WE have the coaster with 3 launches and the largest loop in the world." If the park wasn't able to say that, there probably wouldn't be any sense in building it. Why would a park build a coaster that is just the same stuff, you can't advertise for "just the same stuff."
  10. ^ The Hurler at Carowinds is also very rough and uncomfortable. I like the banked turns and there are some pretty good airtime pops but it's way too rough to enjoy.
  11. I have been on Intimidator at Carowinds probably close to 300 times. I ride for 2-3 hours almost everytime I vist, and I have been up that way 9 times.
  12. ^ I remember Wildcat at Hershey was a good ride in terms of layout, but I also remember it was VERY, VERY rough.
  13. I agree, some were very nice shots. Those would be excellent glasses for WCB, if they're still around by September.
  14. Yes, I have heard quite a few stories about things like this happening, usually they are at parks that aren't in the US. The majority of the stories I have heard, though were of accidents like this occurring at parks in China.
  15. I really like this thread a while back- I'm so glad to see it back at the top!
  16. ^^ Very true. I have heard something somewhere that the new SFOG president can be seen out in the park on occasion conversing with guests and employes, ect. It is something every company needs, really.
  17. YOfreakinLO. It looks like they're really getting things done over there. With, of course, the exception of the Superman symbol. Harrison "Sad this didn't actually turn out to be YOLOrusher" Lange
  18. Sometimes I see someone bring up a MagLev type of coaster idea in a discussion. This is probably something in the far distant future, but it just shows that there are more things in the hopper in terms of coaster innovation. What about a new material? There were nothing but wooden coasters before the 1950s and now, we have both steel and wood. Could there be another evolution in terms of construction media?
  19. The square body and lateral stripes were probably great looking if they existed in the 1970s.
  20. We could possibly start to see suspended wooden coasters. (See the patents thread for more details, http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64786). What about a coaster in which riders are laying down. Almost like a flying coaster, but the track is beneath you and your legs are straight out, that way on the first drop, it will feel like you are falling rather than riding it down in a sitting position. Certainly, everything has not been done. Years ago before X came out, no one would have though a fourth dimension coaster would be possible or that it would be feasible enough to exist.
  21. Slow doesn't equal safe. There's is nothing wrong with "racing" while checking lapbars, especially on a Schwarzkopf! We did it at Lagoon ALL the time on Fire Dragon when running 2 Trains. Used to do it on Roller Coaster at Lagoon as well and we used to check em by pushing down AND pulling up. -Sid Actually, there's some of truth to this. On the Scream Machine, one attendant in particular was going very slow, and not checking the seat belts AT ALL. She just checked the lap bar. By contrast, another ride op earlier in the day was doing an excellent job with the seat belts. She was tightening everyone's belt weather it needed to be tightened or not. To add to that, they were pushing all the way down and pulling up. There were times in which one guy had to stop and help someone. They weren't being negligible in the slightest. They were doing an excellent job.
  22. The chassis are probably different since the rails on the Morgan are closer together than rails on B&Ms.
