  1. Great TR! I love the pictures... very artistic and beautiful! Can't wait to visit Liseberg!
  2. There is not too many pizza places where I live, and the pizza that we do have, is really terrible! 2 months ago... ? When was the last time you traveled out of your country that you live in?
  3. Cloverfield came out in Germany yesterday (1-31-08) and I finally got to see it tonight! I LOVED it! I purposely didn't see any of the trailers/advertisements because I didn't want the movie to be over hyped but it was truly well done. The shakiness of the camera didn't make me dizzy, on the contrary, it worked in the movie's favor. **Spoiler** What happened to the girl with the dark hair in the mall? Her eye started to bleed and then she was taken to the back behind this screen......? **End Spoiler** Overall, great film! Highly recommend it!
  4. http://www.thorpeparkguide.com/2009/ ^has some pictures of the layout/theming/signage... looks pretty cool! I went to Thorpe Park once before Nemesis: Inferno opened, and I thought it was a great little park. With the addition of everything they have added since, I am excited to go back in '09 and see how great the park has evolved!
  5. Saw IV was the last movie I watched (Yeah, I know I'm very behind! Germany gets movies much later over here! As does the rest of Europe!) It was entertaining, but it's just another example of movie studios wanting to milk as much money as they can from an already dead franchise.
  6. Currently re-reading an old favorite... Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince).
  7. Can this really be....????? This is devastating news for me, as Heath Ledger has always been one of my favorite actors R.I.P Heath Ledger
  8. As I've only been on 2 drop rides (Mystery Castle at Phantasialand and Scream at Heide Park) I would say my favorite would be Scream because it's so scary and fun! ^Mystery Castle CAN be fun. It's weird, because there is a 50/50 thrill factor with it. I remember when I went, I would be on one side that served almost as a really big "Frogger". But then on the other side, I got an actual drop ride! If Mystery Castle was consistent with their drop ride program, it would definitely be my favorite drop ride.
  9. "Floss rhymes with hair!"
  10. The anti-marijuana ones.
  11. Sorry, but I don't know some of the English titles... 10. The new Potter film 9. Ratatouille 8. The new Bourne film 7. The Simpsons 6. Casino Royale 5. Fluch der Karibik 3 (Essentially "POTC" with Johnny Depp but the German name) 4. Sunshine - wonderfully made, and very entertaining. 3. Beim ersten Mal (It is an American film. The actress from Grey's Anatomy is in this film and it is about a girl who meets a guy and she becomes pregnant... what's the name? It's GREAT!) 2. Children of Men 1. 28 Weeks Later - Basically the same apocalyptic type of movie like Children of men, but gorier and featured Zombies!
  12. ^^Wow, you got some wonderful gifts! You're parents sure are generous! As for myself, I got some clothes and some money. Not a lot of presents, but I still had a wonderful Christmas without them
  13. There always these extremists that feel the need to protect the youths of America. I personally think it's stupid.
  14. ^If you're dedicated enough to move to another country, than it wouldn't matter if it was Germany, or England, or wherever. Life in GER isn't too difficult, actually the opposite. Things tend to move a lot slower here than the States I would imagine. As for finding a job, if you live in a University city like Tuebingen (where a lot of people speak English because there are a lot of foreign students) you might be able to find a job with the International program at the Uni and you would be able to speak English. These kinds of Study abroad programs are offered in many Universities... you just need to research it online to find out where they are. I am pretty sure anyone can live in a Studentenwohnheim but most of the time, you are only allowed to live there for 3 years or so and then you need to move out. Studentenwohnheim's are great places to live to meet people and they are usually already furnished! Hope that helped
  15. Anything by Chuck Palahniuk. I love his writing style and the eeriness/humor to his books. Anyone read Palahniuk books? My favorite is definitely Haunted.
  16. ^I thought the shakiness was only for the trailer? Ah, I was exited about this movie for awhile but now it just looks like those huge buildups that is just going to be a letdown. I am curious to see what the monster is going to look like though........
  17. I have played the piano for about 12 years now. I remember I hated it at first because my parents forced it upon me, but now I really enjoy it. Music can be extremely theraputic and I am glad I have that skill.
  18. The apple sure didn't fall far from the tree! How typical. At least she has the money to support her child. Not saying she'll be a good mother (take a look at her incredible sister ). Eh, I really could care less.
  19. The trailer was pretty good... Heath Ledger sure is a creepy Joker! So I checked on IMDB and Cillian Murphy (the actor who played the Scarecrow in Batman Begins) is on the main cast. I hope they center the movie on both villians equally... it would suck if he only made a small cameo. Can't wait till this film comes out! And I just discovered BitTorrent so it won't be too long before I'll be able to see this!
  20. Not knowing how to speak any languages other than English might pose a problem for you if you do decide to move to Europe. Sure, most Europeans can speak English (and can speak it quite well) but most prefer to speak their native tongue. I know that I prefer to speak German and not English because it is just easier. It's been said before, but definitely try to learn the language if you do decide to come to Europe (unless you want to go to an English speaking place.) Not to be negative, but this simply is not true. In German, there is a gender for every single word. For example, a lamp is feminine, a table is masculine, and children are neutral. You must learn every single case. In English, everything is with "the" so it is easier. Sure, if you don't know all the correct adjective endings you could still get by but to truly be able to speak fluently is quite a challenge. Many exchange students who study at my university (who study only the German language) have a tough time understanding all the rules and exceptions. It's not impossible to learn, but it definitely takes a lot of time. -Is it pretty easy for an American to get a job in Europe?? I don't know how it works in other parts in Europe, but in Germany it is quite difficult to get a good job, especially if you don't speak the language. -How about living there? What kind of place to stay would be the cheapest? If you are a student, you can live in a Studentenwohnheim and it is inexpensive. I live in Tuebingen, where the rent is actually a little more, and I pay roughly 230 Euros a month. The average cost for a student living in a normal city (not like Stuttgart, Berlin, Munich, etc) is 170 Euros a month. Finding your own apartment would definitely be more expensive. -I proooobably won't have a driver's liscense over there. Would I be able to get around without having a car? Don't worry about that! The public transportation system here is WONDERFUL compared to the States. You really don't need a car to get around. Just one more thing... Make absolutely sure that you want to move to Europe. It might sound wonderful at first, but the culture shock of being in a different country might be harder than you can imagine. The first few months might be fun (your honeymoon stage) but once it sinks in that you don't know the language and can't communicate about the simplest things, are thousands of miles away from home, and everything is a complete 360 from the States, you might want to move back. Not saying that Europe is bad at all (I LOVE EUROPE!) but you should really consider these factors before making such a big decision. Good Luck in everything! If you decide to come to Germany, message me! I can help you out
  21. ^I am not really familiar with the gun laws but does having a gun license allow someone to bring a gun into public, just for the sake of having one?
  22. I am a huge fan of the Batman franchise. Batman Begins is actually one of my favorite movies of all time. Definitely the best Batman film in the series. I knew that everyone would be hesitant with Heath Ledger playing the Joker but I seriously think he is a great actor. Granted, he has played some pretty awful roles (10 Things I Hate About You come to mind...) but he was excellent as Enis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain and his acting skills have evolved. I can't wait to see what he can bring to "The Dark Knight." The Joker is actually my favorite villain and I am so excited to see him in this new Batman film. The makeup on Heath Ledger is awesome. Just how I always pictured the real Joker... deranged and sadistic. And the whole 'Chelsea Grin' story is pretty cool too. I can't wait to see this film! Too bad "The Dark Knight" comes out much later here in Germany
  23. Train ticket to Amsterdam... 70 Euros (102.86 Dollars)
  24. Was Flashback smooth when it first opened? Or has it always been extremely rough?
  25. ^Really? I think his voice is quite pleasant. He could definitely have a very successful career in Broadway with a voice like that.
