  1. Just curious to find out what everyone's living situation is. I currently live with roommates in a small flat right outside my university. I like it, but it can be annoying sharing one bathroom with 2 girls (who are VERY messy by the way!) and 2 guys (who don't know the concept of cleaning up after themselves). Before I moved to New Hampshire, I lived in a Studentenwohnheim (student housing) near my university and the situation was almost the same. So, just curious... where do you guys live? With parents? With roommates? With a boyfriend/girlfriend? Or alone? And how do you like it?
  2. Recently discovered Andy Mckee... an amazing acoustic guitarist. You should really check him out!
  3. Where is my mind? -- Pixies (one of my all time favorite songs)
  4. I've noticed in American grocery stores that they tend to use both paper and plastic bags. They'll put plastic on the outside, and the put a paper bag on the inside. My question is why?????! Also, it seems to be standard to use plastic in grocery stores right? You have to ask or else they will just give you plastic? Maybe it's different on the west coast...
  5. oh, how I miss Germany! The surrounding areas are so beautiful for any park in Deutschland! Great pictures of Holiday Park, my home park!
  6. Like Wes41190 said... you're 14. 10 years old having a serious 4 year relationship? I don't think so, sorry.
  7. I was stuck at JFK airport for 24 hours because my flight was canceled and I thought that was just pure torture! But at least I could walk around the airport and go the bars and whatnot... poor guy! Trapped in a space on par with a closet must have been just awful.
  8. ^YES! What a great idea transforming the station into a club-like atmosphere! Wishful thinking but what if they made it look like this: (Go to 1:21) HOLY SH*T! The stage in the video (where the infinity sign is) is where the control panel would be located and the lights could line the tall ceilings in the X station (if I remember correctly). Like I said before, WISHFUL thinking! But still... cool to fantasize about!
  9. I actually study now in New Hampshire instead! haha... totally different direction than what I had initially planned! But I have heard that Wicked is a incredible production. It's quite popular, and the tickets are not too expensive for a musical (on average 60 Euros). Never did get to see it though! Studying in Germany is quite possible for you. My university, Uni-Tuebingen (which is about an hour train from Stuttgart... I think Uni-Tueb is a much better school than Stuttgart), has almost 40 percent International students, and half of them come from the United States. Actually, this past fall, I met quite a few blokes from Texas and from Boston. You could apply online under their international program, and who knows? You might get accepted!
  10. Looks incredible! Though, I'm not the biggest fan of water parks. The thought of swimming in the same water with so many others kind of grosses me out.
  11. ^^Looks awesome! But that site brings up a good point about that effect... how much would it cost to operate it? If that effect did end up in the final X2, I could see it never being used.
  12. ^I also have the same problem with my legs. That's why I really LOVE floorless coasters / inverts, because there is nothing cramping my body and my legs are just free to dangle. Ugh. I totally know what you mean. My shoulders are pretty broad and OTSR just hurt in general because every time I go through a tight turn, there is this really uncomfortable pressure on my shoulders. The Intamin ones are the worst! Desert Race at Heide-Park is a FUN ride, but I actually dread airtime (did I just say that?) because it's uncomfortable. I wish they would improve their restraints!
  13. Ever since I've moved to the States, it's been hard trying to find a good magazine (and by good, I mean... not relating to celebrity gossip). Are there any magazines out there that don't relate to Hollywood in anyway but is intended for the young adult reader? There must be!
  14. I am deeply, deeply sorry for what happened to your friend and her boyfriend, and my prayers go to both their families. After what happened to your friend, it's quite understandable that you hate alcohol. But you must remember, that it's the people and the decisions they make, that is to blame. Sure, alcohol DEFINITELY warps your mental state of mind, but if you are responsible (ie: NOT drinking/driving) and are with people who are also responsible, alcohol isn't that terrible of a thing. I have been drunk many times in my life, and even at my drunkest, I've known better than to NOT put myself behind the wheel and risk my life and the lives of others on the road... or a sober friend (there should always be someone not intoxicated) was there to take care of me and the others. It's all about the decisions you make. Just putting that out there.
  15. Move B*tch -- Luda
  16. Who cares if the band you like becomes popular? Ugh, annoys me when people like bands only when they are unknown and then as soon as people start like them, they stop liking them because they apparently "sold out"... even if their music is still good.
  17. ^I feel the exact same way. I've been in a relationship since I was 18 and I'm almost 21 now. I dated a girl for almost a year, and then later, I dated a guy also for about a year but that ended terribly because it was my first love and I was heartbroken. Almost right afterwards, I started dating another guy and that lasted until recently. No, don't get me wrong. I think relationships are great. It's awesome to spend time with someone and share yourself with another person you couldn't do normally with your friends. But at the same time, it gets expensive... and very time consuming. It's hard to balance time between friends, and with a significant other. But I think one of the of the main problems that I had was deciding what I wanted more... staying home on a Friday night with my boyfriend or go out with the girls and my best mates? I chose the later I don't think this sounds pompous at all. All lot of my guy friends have girlfriends and they are the biggest jerks in the world (at least to their girlfriends), so I think it's great that you actually have the decency and respect for women because we all know how much that is lacking today. Sounds like you date younger girls? A lot of my girlfriends around my age are like the girls you just said. They like being romanced and everything, but they also really love it when their boyfriends buy things for them. However, my roommate here in New Hampshire is 24 she doesn't care about anything like that, nor does she expect her boyfriend to buy her expensive things. The time they spend together is enough, and her boyfriend treats her like a queen, but not in the sense of materialism. I think older women (and also guys which is why I only date older guys) seem to understand this concept better than those who are younger (especially ages 18-22). Cheers to being newly single!
  18. Just got this in the mail from my mum! Early birthday present! Too bad I can't use it because it's locked and only works in Germany, but at least I can use at as an ipod!
  19. I read somewhere that Cheney recently went to the Middle East to negotiate something to lower gas prices. Not sure if this is true or not, but if it is, what was the outcome (if there even is one)?
  20. I thought this was really interesting! This is apparently what English sounds like to a person who isn't a native speaker. Even though English is my second language, I've been speaking it for almost 10 years now and I consider myself pretty fluent, so I don't think it sounds foreign at all. But I DO remember when I first started learning the language, and this is REALLY how I thought it sounded like! Sounds a bit like the Sims talking! Or maybe even a little like Dutch! 21. <----- New haircut!
  22. I really enjoy reading Neon (a German magazine) because it is political, but at the same time talks about issues like sexuality, pop culture, and current events around the world. I also really like GQ magazine (both American and German) because I like to know what's in fashion where I live. What's your favorite and why?
  23. Better than sex...? Hm, don't know if a coaster could beat that! But yes, what a great way to start off! Kanonen looks like a very fun, cute little coaster that packs quite a punch!
  24. Hey captain, GREAT pictures! Mammut sieht voll GEIL aus! Really a shame that I moved to the States when this just opened! Especially since it is so close to my house in Germany. I'm very glad they opened this new woodie. Finally, I'll have a reason to visit Tripsdrill with my friends when I return... they always say that it is a children's park, but this proves them wrong!
  25. I really like the floorless idea. Sure, the front is definitely the best, but I think if you sit on an outside seat, the feeling is almost the same. Perhaps people expect too much, but I think the excitement factor is enhanced so much more with floorless coasters, because it feels like you are so high up the track!
