  1. Josef Fritzl, 73 of Austria, imprisoned his daughter Elizabeth Fritzl, 42, for over 24 years in his basement cellar and also fathered Elizabeth's seven children. One of her sons, who is 18 years old, had never seen the outside world until just last week. I can't even imagine what that would be like. Here's the link to the story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7371959.stm What are your thoughts?
  2. JUST GO AWAY PLEASE.
  3. 1,000,000 Someone close this thread please?
  4. ^haha. That dog is so cute. What breed is s/he?
  5. Impossible Germany -- Wilco
  6. I Will Possess Your Heart -- Death Cab For Cutie
  7. The only thing that I think that looked "cheap" would be the outside facade. It looks awful! Other than that, I am really impressed with all the pictures I've seen of the ride and with the theming. Can't wait to ride it this summer when I go!
  8. I had to serve in the army (as required by law) for 8 months when I turned 18 but only made 6 (because of my poor vision). The other choice was doing volunteer work, but a lot of my friends were doing the army so I did it as well. I was at Horb (a small town about 30 minutes away by S-Bahn from Tuebingen) so it was not too bad because I was able to go home almost every weekend.
  9. Hulk, a reboot (wtf does that mean) of the 2003 Hulk movie is being released this summer. Edward Norton is starring in this new Hulk film, but it is essentially the same plot as the 2003 movie. Why are they doing this??
  10. LOVE the Japanese:
  11. I looked it up online, and there have been 20 seasons so far! I admit, I did actually like this show up until The Real World: New Orleans. I thought the characters at that time were fresh, normal looking (meaning they didn't all look like models or actors), and although it was most likely scripted, I thought it felt much more real. If you compare Las Vegas season to New Orleans, you'll see the difference in characters. Although there might not be ALL the stereotypical characters in Real World: Hollywood, this idea for reality TV (have seven strangers living together... Big Brother, Top Model, uh... EVERY reality show out there!) has been played to death and I doubt it will be any good.
  12. Great, yet another season with stereotypical "real" people. I don't even know the cast, but I'm pretty sure I already know the characters: the black guy (or other minority that no one understands) the all American white jock the innocent "virgin" the religious zealot the slut (who isn't actually a slut, just promiscuous ) the token gay guy/girl the alcoholic/drug user (Am I missing one??) ::yawn:: Formulaic, predictable, and uninteresting. I'll be skipping this for sure...
  13. What was the reason for Zonga closing at SFMW (er, SFDK) again?
  14. Oh, I looked it up on the internet and it called Pescetarianism... one who only eats vegetables and seafood.
  15. ^Depends on your definition of respect. The Native Americans respected animals, but in a different way. They would kill them, but use all of their bones (either for weapons, jewelry, tools, etc), eat their meat, and use their skin for clothing. This was not murder to them because it was natural to kill and eat animals. I met a girl the other day, and she said that she was a vegetarian and yet she still ate white meats (ie: chicken and fish). What's the term for this?
  16. Lately, I've been having a series of nightmares. The nightmares almost always have the idea of 'being secluded' tied into it. (ie: trapped by myself in the desert at night, trapped in the forest alone at night, being lost at a concert and not being able to find a familiar face.. and so on). Any dream experts in here that can help me figure this crazy dream pattern and what it means?
  17. Pulling Our Weight -- The Radio Dept.
  18. ^GREAT song! Every time me and my friends in Germany heard that song at a club, we would go crazy! Currently listening to: Marilou Sous La Neige - Serge Gainsbourg
  19. ^^That list says that my college at the moment (Dartmouth College) is ranked number 10 in the nation. Wow, my international program back home didn't lie when they said they would put us in good schools! For those still applying, I highly recommend Dartmouth.
  20. Is there a difference (layout wise) between the two Toy Story attractions? Or are they essentially the same? I think this attraction is a bit underwhelming (so far from what I've seen) since I've been following the construction at DCA pretty closely. But like many have already said before, YouTube won't and can't do a 3D attraction justice. I guess we'll just have to wait until it opens to make judgement!
  21. California -- Joni Mitchell
  22. You are quite the photographer! I love all of your posts!
  23. I have a Sony Vaio and I use Windows Vista. I wouldn't recommend Vista though, it looks cool... but it is a bit hard to use!
  24. 70s, sunny, and absolutely gorgeous outside.
