  1. ^The lines for the rides on Passholder Day aren't really too bad. It's the other operations of the park that struggle because of understaffing this time of year. They just don't have enough employees to handle the volume of customers. The lines for food can get miserable, especially during lunch and dinner hours.
  2. ^Did you get a rubber diabolo or a rubber/plastic hybrid? Just wondering because the rubber ones tend to lose its shape a lot easier than a hybrid. If it gets deformed it will be harder to manipulate the spool.
  3. I use to play the diabolo but its been a while since I picked one up. I had a glow-in-the-dark spool that was fun to play with outside at night.
  4. ^The BGW Fun Card expires on Labor Day. If you plan on returning later this year in the fall or within the full year that your pass is good for then it would be useless. You also get free parking with an annual pass and park discounts on food and merchandise.
  5. WOW! That looks like a rapids ride! This one is pretty intense too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12725646
  6. Just saw on this forum that the TDR will be subjected to rolling blackouts over the next couple weeks (at least). Here is news confirmation on the citywide blackouts scheduled for Tokyo.
  7. The entire Tokyo Disney Resort is closed until the 21st. Here's a another video of the crowd when the earthquake started. They get startled a bit at the beginning but nobody scatters as they all just calmly sit until the message comes on. And here's a video after the quake on the TDR Monorail leaving from Tokyo Disney Sea Station and practically doing a full circuit. You can see some minor flooding at 3:26 and from there you can see some shots of the parking lots after the water receded.
  8. Pretty calm crowd at TDL. I love the announcement in English!
  9. Just got tix to see Brendan Perry (from Dead Can Dance) and Robin Guthrie (from Cocteau Twins). They are doing a small North American Tour from late May to early June.
  10. Surveillance video of the Sendai Airport getting hit by the tsunami.
  11. I just heard from someone in Hawaii that the Tsunami sirens have just started howling. It's expected to hit there at 3 a.m.
  12. My goodness! This is insane! I'm watching CNN right now and Miyagi Prefecture is getting obliterated with water! And I can't imagine how insanely chaotic Tokyo is right now with public transportation disrupted.
  13. ^I'm not sure about Pigeon Forge, TN during that time of year but Virginia is still pretty hot and humid in late August though it's not as bad as the earlier part of the month.
  14. ^You can see the pics in a recent TPR hardhat tour http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=58222
  15. This is awesome! DARTH SHEEN rules!
  16. According to this article this same exact project was proposed for Las Vegas a decade ago.
  17. This is a hilarious video! This woman is absolutely terrified riding the gondola lift "Metrocable" in MedellĂn, Colombia. And it doesn't help that her family is purposely trying to freak her out! And it gets really good from 3:55 in the vid til the end! *Warning - She screams mad obscenities in Spanish!
  18. 70 miles so about an hour drive, depending on traffic. However I've made it in 45 minutes a couple times.
  19. ^He'll be there both Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=171513376230200
  20. Totally agree with you on this. However I do find it ironic that non-gaming revenue (shows, rides, attractions, restaurants, etc) brings in more money now than gaming revenue.
  21. I lived there and visit each year. Trust me, there is PLENTY of land to build an amusement park! Last I checked, most of City Center was open. That's a bit exaggerated! I wouldn't dare use the word "excellent" to describe any of those coasters especially the NYNY Coaster!
  22. ^In the wild, cheetahs usually need at least an hour or more to rest after hunting prey but this exhibit will be much smaller and the runs much shorter. With the number of cheetahs they are getting it is possible that guests will be able to view them do these runs every hour during the daytime. It'll be similar to something like this at the Cincy Zoo.
  23. ^Another Sky Wheel proposal for Vegas? That concept seems doomed since the Voyager Wheel was killed.
