  1. Here are some Cheetah Hunt construction pics from a recent hard hat tour. http://www.us1035.com/cc-common/gallery/display.html?album_id=270660
  2. ^Nice pics of the Burj Khalifa. Did you get to see the fountain show?
  3. On pass member preview day or just some Saturdays? That's some "special" if that's the case ;( ... but then I think Opening Sunday was bad enough in 2009 that I didn't go back until August ... I'm talking about Pass Member Preview Day. The event has gotten really popular with passholders over the last few years and if the weather is nice they will flock to the park in droves. A couple years ago when I went i arrived at the I-64 exit at 10 a.m. and waited almost an hour just to park as the line of traffic was sequestered all the way up and down the ramp.
  4. The Hard Rock foreclosure has been averted. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/feb/07/agreement-prompts-cancellation-hard-rock-hotel-for/
  5. ^I wouldn't recommend it either. There is usually one person checking staff/employee ID's and another for bus parking. And many times just one person doing both. They don't need a bunch of passholders thinking they have the privilege to use that entrance. That could end up being a traffic gridlock on busy days preventing key employees from getting to work. I have a friend that worked there the past two years that I've given rides to work and that one gate can get busy just for employees, especially around park opening.
  6. The local ABC station went behind the scenes at BGW to show the maintenance work that goes on in the off-season. http://www.wvec.com/news/behind-the-scenes-Busch-Gardens-115668119.html
  7. Just got my tickets to see Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy!
  8. ^Technically, no. That day is suppose to be strictly for passholders but I was able to buy a one day ticket for a friend a couple years ago. The park won't turn away business like that.
  9. ^Yes, all you need is your pass. Now if the weather is nice that day be sure to get there EARLY! The parking lot entrance can get gridlocked all the way up the ramp to I-64.
  10. ^Make that four locations for Catapult in BGW. First location - indoors in Hastings where the Sesame Street dinner theater is now in Killarney. Second location - Festa Italia in the games tent from when that section opened in 1988 until around 93/94. Third location - Oktoberfest. Fourth - New home this year in the old Canadian Pavilion in New France.
  11. As a former resident of Vegas I will say that I've had much better food at the Wynn, Bellagio and Paris buffets than I have at many of the full service sit down restaurants there.
  12. Or work as a tech in the backstage areas!
  13. I've seen: Saltimbanco, Mystere, Alegria, Quidam, Dralion, "O", La Nouba, Varekai, Zumanity, Ka, Corteo, Delirium, LOVE, BeLIEve, Kooza, and Viva ELVIS. I'm gonna catch Totem this spring and IRIS at the Kodak this summer. And I might catch Ovo sometime this year.
  14. ^^The BGW Fun Card no longer has VA resident restrictions. Anybody can buy it.
  15. ^I'm going to catch the OMD show in DC in March. I can't wait to see them. I only saw them once and that was way back when they opened for Depeche Mode on their Music for the Masses tour. I'm also looking forward to seeing Sade this summer.
  16. Here's a recent article stating that a Tron: Legacy sequel may not happen even though there's a rumored teaser for the Blu-ray and DVD release: http://www.moviehole.net/201136094-there-may-be-a-tron-3-teaser-doesnt-mean-therell-be-a-tron-3 It seems like they will really need a huge boost from Blu-ray and DVD sales to even consider a sequel. I see this happening if the sales do well and they find a way to slice a good percentage off the production and marketing budget. While the movie had strong box office sales in the USA it really fell flat worldwide. I was a fan of the original but I felt T:L had a weak plot. I really wanted it to be a successful follow-up but I left the theatre disappointed. It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out.
  17. I believe this is the same tree in this pic that was posted on page 133 of this thread back on November 17, 2010.
  18. I just found it on line here - http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/#41020515 I only caught the beginning of that interview. And yes that was hilarious!
  19. ^Was this last week on the Today show you saw her with Hoda and Kathie Lee? I caught a couple minutes of that interview but I don't recall seeing that part you're talking about.
  20. Tower of Terror at Disney Hollywood Studios is my absolute favorite. I hate the DCA version!
  21. On Food Network TV tonight at 8 p.m. Extreme Candy Coasters - Four chocolatiers go to Hersheypark to find inspiration for their chocolate roller coasters.
  22. Such a sad and horrific ending to this story! http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_dancer_slaying
  23. ^^Finally! It's great to see Gwazi getting new trains. I wonder BGT sold the PTC trains to another park.
  24. ^Cillian would play a great villain. However I'd be shocked if Disney dumped money into a sequel to Tron: Legacy as the film is doing poorly at the box office. It needs to haul in about $500 million in ticket sales just to break even and it has only reached half of that at the moment.
