  1. Yeah, cause Cedar Fair intended to lose money by buying the park just to close it. That's precisely what they did. The loss they took buying the park, and then operating it until the existing service contracts were fulfilled will be made back several times over by shutting it down to remove the competition. I still believe that buying Geauga Lake just to close it was one of the smartest business decisions Cedar Fair ever made. Popular with some immediate locals and die-hard fans? Nope. But that move took balls, and I applaud them on it. --Robb Okay, I guess I can see that.
  2. I hope they can find a way out of this, but I'm definitely glad I went out there last year.
  3. Yeah, cause Cedar Fair intended to lose money by buying the park just to close it. I can imagine the area probably is very overgrown though.
  4. Leafs just fired Burke. W...T...F?!?!
  5. This is a great fit for Knoebels. I can't wait to go back.
  6. It might be Playland Park in Vancouver. http://www.pne.ca/playland/
  7. 25/26. Missed the first question.
  8. I noticed this at Seabreeze. The ops on Jack Rabbit would cross the track in the station while the train was running the course. Not a big deal, as long as your careful.
  9. One thing I would like to do is travel up to either the Yukon or Northwest Territories during the winter. Something like this: http://www.auroraborealisyukon.com/wintertours/
  10. Great! Please find another forum to post to if you don't like what we have to say. Disclaimer! You need a sense of humor to view our site, if you don't have a sense of humor, or are easily offended, please turn back now! As a business owner, I doubt Robb really wants to tell people to go elsewhere because he makes more money if they stay. That said, as a business owner, he also has the right to not have to put up with stupid crap. If someone asks "Why all the screaming, Robb?", he's going to defend why he does things the way he does. If I were in his position, I'd defend myself too.
  11. I'm doing Texas/Midwest. Maybe see you guys around if there's a bash.
  12. Great pics Martin! You doing any TPR events/trips next year?
  13. I'm looking forward to the entire Texas/Midwest trip, but in particular SDC and Outlaw Run.
  14. Thanks Hanno. Looking forward to the new year!
  15. TPR stayed at the Hampton Inn near Kings Island during the 2011 trip and I thought it was fine. There are a few others in the area as well. Definitely stay on property at Cedar Point like you did last time. You can also get the Cedar Fair Platinum Pass which is good for admission at both parks.
  16. I would say so. Legoland in the New York area would likely be very successful. Playland has a lot of history so I would hope they are careful not to destroy that.
  17. That would only be for those who want to bail on a Carnival cruise.
  18. I just went through the Sea World pics. Very nice work.
  19. How well has Twisted Twins held up? Would that be worth saving at this point? If they could get GCI or the Gravity Group to get it up and running with Millennium Flyers or Timberliners I think it would be a good start. Edit: Sounds like my questions already been answered.
  20. Wow... http://news.yahoo.com/okla-teen-arrested-school-shooting-plot-184243533.html
  21. It's hard to put this into words. There have been school shootings before, and as awful as those were, this is much worse.
  22. That might be good advice considering...
