Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread
cfc replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a suggestion: Being as this is the Six Flags St. Louis Discussion Thread, let's keep the conversation focused on that park and not a ride that used to sit at a Six Flags park in New Jersey. Thank you. -

It's the last weekend for fireworks at the park, too--then they start stripping all the Illuminights stuff to set up for Howl-o-Scream (yay!). -

There were two in California, one in San Bernardino County (Skyforest) and one in Santa Cruz County (Scotts Valley). I would have to guess you're from Southern Cal, Chuck? I found a fansite for these parks. Apparently they had quite a following. Nope--the one in Santa Cruz County. I grew up in central California (about two hours from Santa Cruz). -

Happened to be on the BGW side of town this afternoon around 1:30. The park is already using the overflow lots. Sheesh! -

My parents have 8 mm footage of a family visit to the California Santa's Village. I vaguely remember visiting the place when I was a wee lad. -

It's a shame that you would complain after someone went out of his way to provide pictures of a new park. And you are? Sorry, let me introduce myself. I'm Larry, the moderator who just gave you a 24 hour ban for being rude. Well played, Larry. Well played. -

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

The best night to go to Haunt is Friday. KD is only open from 7:00 pm to midnight, but it's a smaller crowd. But Friday is also the best night for HOS at Busch Gardens (Sunday isn't too bad). I know that Quick Queue at BGW will get you all the mazes at HOS, in addition to rides, but I don't know if this is the case for KD's Fast Lane (they did sell something called Fright Lane for Haunt last year). At any rate, if you hit either park on Saturday, you'll want Quick Queue or Fast Lane (BGW can hit capacity on Saturdays during HOS). -

I've found that this song sums up the attitudes of many people who post on the Internet. -

Kvasten is one of the best family rides Vekoma has ever built--and Dave is absolutely right about fire. -

^The yellow train had a accident during the ride's testing phase--an accident that was blown completely out of proportion on another Web site (for example, that the ride sustained "structural damage" that would delay its opening, which turned out to be incorrect). While the yellow train sustained some damage, which delayed its debut, and a BGW employee had to be hospitalized, the ride resumed testing with the remaining trains soon thereafter. It's been a bit of a running gag here ever since. -

Looks better than your average Vekoma jr. suspended coaster. I like the "Anacondaish" underwater tunnel. I hope it's as good as Kvasten at Grona Lund. -
Post your milestone coasters

200. Imorinth (Central Park--Japan) 300. Colossos (Heide-Park--Germany) 400. Kvasten (Grona Lund--Sweden) 500. Wild Thing (Valleyfair) A rather varied lot. I never plan "milestones" out; I just let them happen. -

Want to spend a day at BGW for less than $40? Are you into NASCAR? Do you like Coca-Cola? Then this might be of interest--if you're going to the park on August 23. -

I've been to PPP once, and I did enjoy myself. That being said, PPP didn't equal the day I spend with TPR there last year. But I think about any day at Knoebels would beat a day at any other park. -
