I think they should enclose the lift. The structure of the lift is framed so all they would have to do is just enclose it. It would tie in perfectly to the bat theme. -

The orange is going to pop so well in contrast to the trees. Orange always looks good on coasters! It definitely will catch the eye of guests much better than the old grey. -

I was thinking to further add to the "new" Bat theming for Flight Deck.... since the lift hill is already framed by the steel support structure, they should enclose the entire lift hill and make it a Bat Lair of sorts (I would say Bat Cave but don't want to upset Batman lol). -

I had a feeling something was up today which is why I posted their tweet earlier. -
I would be so excited if it was one of these... DiVertical Think about it ... when was the last time BGW added a water ride.... granted they already have Escape from Pompeii. However this is technically a water coaster. The request that they brought to the board mentions 156 ft. in height. It would be nice to see something rise 156 ft. but drive over and down to the Rhine river, skimming the water. Even though Holiday World has one of these, however their's is not a water coaster like the one at Mirabilandia. So this would technically be the first of its kind in the states. Another thought if what is it was a water slide in the water park but one that used a elevator style lift system to bring rafts to the top(would that be a first?).

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

It was running two trains on the last day of the season. It has been 2 years since my last ride on this bad a$$ coaster... I loved every minute of it. I was out of my seat, twisting left and right, fighting against the strong Gs. I'm so happy to have this coaster so close by now. i305 owns all! Got plenty of rides in within the first 2 hours of park open. There was no line! I returned for a night ride but passed it up because the line was making its way out the entry. That said, I had a great time at KD on the last day of the season this past Sunday. Volcano had the last 2 rows blocked off on both trains which significantly reduced its capacity. I got to the park at opening and it up first so my wait was all but 20mins. I can't wait to see the improvements they make for next year. Hopefully some sort of continuous loading platform and maybe an dual loading platform somehow. Too bad there's nothing they can do to add a longer train. I wonder if they blocked off the last 2 rows on each train to make sure they have the weight distribution more towards the front of the train. I look forward to next season. Dominator was great! Grizzly beat the $h!t out of me. Flight of fear was rough, I prefer Joker's Jinx. I had an awesome ride at night on Rebel Yell! Love that classic! Club Blood and Blue Ridge Blood Bath were my favorites. They let way too many people in Slaughterhouse which was a shame because I loved the maze in the past, but its was way too crowded and you couldn't move forward. I ran out of time before I was able to hit Miner's Revenge. I had figured that since it was new it would surely be back next year but now after hearing that it won't be returning I regret not checking it out. Had a great time on Sunday and look forward to next season. -
2014 teaser! *only one like it in North America *Water Thoughts: Some sort of water slide... with Verruckt going to schlitterbahn... I don't think its a giant slide. It does have a cone at the end so maybe a combination slide or some sort. What is with the cables pulleys, and motor? Wishful thoughts... Something like DiVertical would be awesome!

^Exactly... Like I said earlier... I like the concept.. Seems like a first generation version...Hopefully they can find a way to still allow for the spikes to twist! Just a matter designing supports which I'm sure can be done. -

I bet its I-305 re-opening... It be funny if they bring back H:XLC 2.0 - an intamin Xcelerator clone one could wish! lol! If it were a new attraction hopefully something like Diamond Falls coming back... but maybe more of an Intamin Divertical/ Pilgrim's Plunge type water ride. -
That as a good catch... I think you are right about it being Intamin. Anyone have a video of that ride to show how fast the gondola's spin? Depending on the speed, the centrifugal force could make it feel like you are going to come out the seat. Also with the arms extending you out from the tower it just tormenting riders. I agree, I am loving the evolution of these tower rides.

Seeing as they already have El Toro, I doubt that the management nor the general public want another wooden coaster. El Toro already took up a good chunk of space of what was former Frontier Adventures land, but with the removal of Rolling Thunder, I can see the possibilities of more flat rides taking up residence in Plaza del Carnaval or the Golden Kingdom. Here's quick overlay of how they could possibly use the land that I sort of made. If they decided to use the land for a purpose other than a single new roller coaster, I can see them doubling the size of Plaza del Carnaval and almost tripling the size of the Golden Kingdom in the future. I decided to keep some of the former Wild Safari land and Rolling Thunder not in the expansion, as I don't think the Golden Kingdom needs to grow THAT much. By looking at that pic I almost feel as though maybe they should've held off and added Safari Off Read Adventures after removing RT. It would fit and been a more cohesive theme if they had the tours depart from the Golden Kingdom instead of next to Bizarro.

Yes there is. What you will have to do is take the BLUE line metro train out to Largo Town Center or Addison Road Metro and catch the bus. The bus picks up from both locations. The bus you need to take is the C29. See the bus schedule here at: wmata.com/bus/timetables/md/c2129.pdf Please note that right now the park is only open on weekends and so make sure you look at that Saturday or Sunday schedule because the busses don't run as late on the weekend as they do during the weekdays. I believe that last bus leaving the park is at 7:30 PM so don't miss the bus or else you will have to get a cab to take you to the metro train station. If you use the smart trip card (which is the metro card that you load money onto), the bus only costs $1.60 each way. The cost of the train ride will depend on what station you are starting from. Once at the park I suggest you walk up to the front gate via the parking lot exit because there is a side walk. You will also likely see many park employees in the highlighter shirts talking the bus and walking in as well so you can just follow them towards the front gate.
