TPR's Taiwan Trip - Mini Updates!
vacoaster09 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Gravity Max is a coaster I have always been very fond of. I am so happy TPR has been able to ride it and get the ride more press. I really would love to see more these made especially as technology has advanced. This ride seemed like the perfect rival against the Dive Machines. So many great themes I could dream up that could be associated with this ride system. Also happy to hear that is a smooth Vekoma? Are those trains original to the ride when it opened or are those a post-generation type? -

I sense that this is just a first gen model of this ride and that we will soon see the Intamin Ball Coaster (Zac Spin) type cars attached to the sides. That would be a great Idea! *Intamin Hire ME* -

Back during Diamondback pre-construction... were the red track and yellow/ tan supports spotted at that plant as well? Just curious. -
That makes me angry to hear that the ride is still as rough as it was prior. I mean that's the thing about Hades when I visited last July. I mean the ride scared the hell out of me because I thought I was going to die, I could brace myself for anything like I would normally do on rough coasters because it was pitch black and it was my first time riding and i was unfamiliar with the layout underground. I was tossed around like a rag doll and my seat was jackhammering from the moment the train went down the first drop. The only decent seat was the first seat. If you are not in the front you are in for one HELL of a rough ride. Hearing that the ride is still rough and seeing that you need ibuprofen is very disappointing.... I mean I borderline want to call this coaster a gimmick now because they are trying to use the corkscrew as a means to entice people to ride. However, the ride will easily loose its popularity due to its roughness. I was looking forward to them smoothing out this ride more than I was about the corkscrew because the ride was potentially great to begin with. It's full of potential. New trains will do nothing if you don't fix the track! I rather them shut the ride down and do the right thing than to rush an open the ride. I'm sure they saw how rough the ride is as they did their testing with the accelerometers. There's must've been a lot of noise in their data to show something was amiss.

The walls immediately following the first drop tunnel look to be the exact height of the handrails that align the side of the track. I don't have an issue with that. The walls on the turns near the buildings are higher however it looks like they are encasing those with some type of roof structure with only the side nearest the buildings and the roof enclosed. That leaves one wall open... I don't have a problem with that either. If anything it should increase the sensation of speed when riding. For me, I don't bring my camera into parks and snap hundreds of photos so I'm not really that worried about the fact that from the queue line the view of riders coming out of the tunnel is changed. What matters is that the ride is still awesome which it will be!

Boomerang looks nice. I don't think Boomerang or Apocalypse were expect to bring a large increase in attendance or ROI (return on investment) therefore it wasn't financially wise to invest in new trains. However, with Goliath, which pretty much has become a statement at SFNE, the probability of a decent attendance boost/ ROI were far greater thus the investment in new trains. SFNE did have a successful season last year. That said, I understand why Boomerang doesn't have the brand new trains. Keeps the profit margin (albeit not much) relatively greater than it would be if they invested in a new train. I also want to mention that Boomerang looks great, I love the colors, and the train colors. Definitely a nice pop of color for that park.

I just figured GS wouldn't be likely to valley with Poly Wheels since the layout is very low to the ground and not very long of a course. However, I think the big issue would be maintenance cost to replace the wheels as they wear. As for the walls and tunnels. I don't have a problem with it... I just hope that CGA continues to so-what theme them so that it doesn't look tacky. Mist filled tunnels and lighting will enhance these additions.

You have to be careful, they don't say you need a park to park ticket to experience the Hogwarts Express but in order to travel between the two. My guess is that all guest will board the train but upon arriving at other station there will be a queue line for the return trip and turnstiles to enter the park.. only those with park to park tickets will be able to proceed into the other park while those without will have to re-enter the queue for the return trip.

This is SO a B&M! Those 3 rows of footers looks like its for a transfer storage/track. Where the white cement truck looks to be a turnaround. From CWmania From CWmania It would be nice if they could make this a Giga-Twister... kinda how Raging Bull is a Hyper-Twister -

A B&M Giga Dive would be insane! Don't see that ever happening though. It's just that a Dive Coaster would fit so well in that area... -
^I'm right with you. Sometimes you just have to hit the ignore button... usually I don't dismiss people's post but for comment to just throw a statement out and not provide any specifics is just trash talk. What he stated exists at all parks in that region. "Aint no-body got time for dat" Chile bye!

If I had to guess, I'd say it looks more like the B&M giga footers pic. I really hope for a B&M Giga Dive Coaster. -

WoW! You know, I've been thinking this for awhile... but the sheer amount of sheel that they have compacted in this space is just brilliant. I would love for a park like Universal Hollywood to consider a ride like this for their park.
