Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

Stuff out in front of the parking lot has no luck apparently. The original marquee sign got knocked down in a wind storm ten years ago in 2003. This is what happens when you have Dinosaurs in captivity... call PETA lmao -
It's about time... brings tears to thine eyes LOL. Never thought I'd see the day Now just needs them to put the new generation flying trains on this ride (the ones seen on Stingray at Suzhou Giant Wheel park) and new trains on Superman. Some new trains on Mind Eraser (Either the new Generation Vekoma SLC trains like at Morey's or the new Kumbak ones at Movie World Australia) and lastly new vest-like restraints for Apocalypse (like a new style hybrid cross between the system used on B&M flyers and wing coasters)

I miss H:XLC ... That Launch!!!! -
Thank you for this... SFMM might be in the early stages of making the mistake SFA did. SFA in its early 99/2000s got a complete package... 2 coasters in 1999, a coaster in 2000, and a coaster in 2001. In that 3 year period it neglected pretty much everything else. Cleanliness, work ethic, all behind the scenes type stuff fell to the side and the park. Yes SFMM is a park with cool rides ..... but if it can put in new ride every year then they have no excuse to not go all out on infrastructure improvements. Re-investment does not necessarily mean adding a new ride. They should take an off year in 2014, let Full Throttle and Lex Luthor marketing hold the park over through 2014 (give Huricane Harbor some attention) and focus on all around upgrades.

First Defunct B&M?

Robb, Do you think who ever owns Free Style Music Park would allow You or someone from TPR to shoot a video/photo update of the park and it's rides? I mean it could be pitched to them that we will help them get more coverage and hopefully increase their chances of finding a buyer. I really still am and always have been confused by why no one can just purchase the rides. I thought they were going up for auction and then news dies down again. Maybe Ed Hard can go talk to them and bring it over to KK. I would to see a video of the rides running (if the rumor is true that they are keeping up the rides). -
One comment I want to make is that... Penguin's Blizzard River, won't get stuck because its cold... It just makes for an uncomfortable ride... hopefully no body in their right mind rode it... however, the coasters, have operating temperatures which (if too cold) cannot run for risk of stalling/valleying. Silver Dollar City had to keep most of their coasters (even outlaw run) around the same week because temps were too low. So its not un-common. The good news is, the temps rose enough for them to open all their coasters eventually. I love the newly painted Looney Toons Sign. If I could make a projection.... The park is not painting Batwing, and Will not Paint Batwing because it's probably being moved to a different park. Iron Wolf was never painted and it got moved. Flashback at SFOT had not been painted and it was moved... the only exception would be DeJaVu which had got a new paint job around when Terminator was build (I think) which isn't too far off. The way I see it, is why pour the money into a ride if its going to get moved. Although I love Batwing... I feel like the parks neglect of it is subliminally foreshadowing its future.... So I wonder who will get it.

^That curved part looks like its the chain guide -
https://www.cagreatamerica.com/article/media-center/GOLD-STRIKER-COASTER-NOW-INCLUDES-RECORD-TUNNEL It says the only visible light will be following the first turn. Thus I conclude the tunnel is not finished... despite the rendering. Second, the queue line will pass under the station is looks... so it will like be another themed cave like when it passes through the back of the retail shop. Is this an example of in-fill under neath the tracks?... I've noticed on GCI coasters before... here are two a pics of GCI's El Toro: Photo from RCDB.com Photo from RCDB.com & GCI's Thunderbird photo from RCDB.com

Thank you guys; we should team up... Help me propose this idea to BGW and consult with the woodie manufactuers to bring this to life. Glad you get a sense of my vision. I too believe it's possible... Hades 360 roll looks like a giant corkscrew vs a zero G. The element doesnt seem centered around the body to produce zero G. Additionally notice how the Hades 360 inversion is more drawn out to minimze the G force. So I envision the same would be the case for a similar element on this wooden concept of mine... that roll into a GCI-esque curving drop. From there's I'd prefer the more GCI type of crazy cross overs, twists, and turns... since BGWs coasters all have sort of that out-and-back feel to them... I'd keep this one twisted/compact/ but still provide a decent ride time. (Now I need to summon the expertise of a No Limits wizard). Luv Drachen Fire-wood lol... BGW always goes with mythical creatures sometimes, so if the Spain rumor is true we'd need some sort of Spanish Dragon name. El Fuego? Fuego del Drachen? Diablo?

If BGW were to build a wooden coaster I would hope that they consult GCI, GG, or RMC since they all claim to be able to do inversions... I would want the ride to pay tribute to Drachen Fire by incorporating Drachen Fire's signature first drop. The corkscream would like be a little more elongated to keep it a low-g inversion but you get my drift. What are your thoughts? Could a wooden coaster do this maneuver? photo from coasterforce.de photo from Mike541x of themeparkreview.com photo from coasterforce.de The ride could then either be a twisted wooden coaster full of awesomeness. The view from Nessie would be nice to finally have a coaster back there. photo from Ray P of themeparkreview.com

^And also the louder wheels. B&M Roar!!! -
So hopefully they will indeed close in the bottom... supposed to be in-fill underneath the tracks... what is "in-fill"? Again the PR on the website says https://www.cagreatamerica.com/article/media-center/GOLD-STRIKER-COASTER-NOW-INCLUDES-RECORD-TUNNEL It says the only visible light will be following the first turn. Thus I conclude the tunnel is not finished... despite the rendering. Second, the queue line will pass under the station is looks... so it will like be another themed cave like when it passes through the back of the retail shop.

I think their line is pretty diverse. No two coasters ride alike aside from the two Roar Clones, and the American Thunder, Thunderbird clones. I mean Prowler, the coaster at Knight Valley in China, Gold Striker, Wodan, and El Toro. I just gave you a strong counter-example to the point you tried to make.

Looks like I might have been right! Also, from the new POV rendering, It does not show the underside of the tunnel being filled in... but I thought in the PR they said all sides would be covered. This defeats the advertised purpose of a tunnel because its not going to be truely dark.... makes it seems like it was in reality, indeed, a scream shield/barrier.
